Every now and then, my fiancé, her two sisters and I would go out together for a little adventure for a new café or restaurant. During the last long holidays, we went to 21Grams at PJ New town. Personally, I didn’t know that there were cafes there. It is located behind of Strawberry Fields, you can’t miss it. Also it is next to Strawberry Fields Hotel. I like the interior design of 21Grams, it has this some sort of shine. It is something you can’t miss. Also, the staff was really attentive and patience with the customers. He was willing to explain the menu. I had an iced lemon juice, and it was really refreshing. They added mint leaves that made it a lot better. For my meal I had Cajun chicken. It was more than enough and the chicken was grilled nicely. I enjoyed my time with my fiancé and her sister.

Twenty One Grams is your typical café that you can find anywhere else, and while it is that way, it is packaged in a completely different way to make it seem like it isn’t. Ambience wise, it is pretty modernistic, and minimalistic. It is mainly to attract foodies, and then to disappoint them with their sandwiches and coffee. Not to say both these items are bad; they aren’t. They’re just not good enough, and their barista does not seem to have the same dedication as he should have in brewing a good cup of coffee. Instead of getting coffee, I’m only tasting caffeine shots, and thus the reasons why I am still awake now. That is not to say that this café isn’t good. However, if you are to position your café in a place where there’s other cafes and your signature drink is inferior, why would you want to drink theirs?

Another new member in Jaya One. I find this place is still empty, as in crowd and also their menu. All food and beverages have been written on the blackboard at counter. The price range is reasonable. Although Twenty One Grams mentioned they serve cakes and sandwiches, I didn’t see any cake display. I can’t even find their refrigerator. Well, maybe they are still new and more thing will be coming soon. I ordered a cup of hot chocolate. It was really smooth and fit my taste buds. Nonetheless, the barista took a very long time to make that cup. Maybe they are new too? Oh ya! Twenty One Grams is hiring full time barista too, if you are interested, you can contact Twenty One Grams(I know it isn’t a part of review, but just lend a new member a hand, why not?) Another thing that hopefully Twenty One Grams can notice will be the straw they provided. It was too short! I took away my drink and got that straw, it dropped inside my drinks. Hmmmm… I wonder is the crew cut it into half, or it came in that size. Overall, Twenty One Grams is still newbie in The School, Jaya One. I wish they are actually having more thing to come. Currently I only managed to try their drinks, hope my next visit at Twenty One Grams can also try out their food.

Beautiful interior design and concept they have but the lack of patrons and unseemingly friendly staff makes this place undesirable to even step in during the weekdays. Weekends however, this place comes alive and it looks happening and chic. This is your usual coffee joint where they have a rich selection of coffee choices. They serve a few western style dishes from English breakfast to pasta and bread. Their coffee is good and their food is tasty. I would definitely return to try out the other food dishes.

Twenty One Grams coffee is a new member in Jaya One, and they only opened for business not long ago. The interior is made of simple wooden furniture, and it seems like they were all handmade. Twenty One Grams is located at level B1 in Jaya One, towards to escalator near to soon-to-open Celebrity Fitness. When I first drop by Twenty One Grams, they were serving coffee so we did not get to try their food. The coffee was really strong, and I felt it was a tad too strong for my liking. I wasn’t sure if it’s my personal taste, but the coffee tasted a little bit burnt for me. However, I checked with Joe and he seems to be fine with it.
