I was here for a single malt whisky event. The location of the bar is a challenge to find, especially for a lone female in high heels. Frankly, I didn’t feel safe walking from my car to the bar. Rather secluded & the building isn’t even 60% fully tenanted. No information counter & the security guards doesn’t know the exact location of the bar. Thankfully, a female shop owner helped me to find the bar & advised which part of the building to avoid. Anyway, the bar belongs to a Japanese & he is highly trained. He is skilled in carving ice into a ball with a knife. The Bar’s well known finger food is the salted edadame, which is a must with your whisky. If you want a quiet place to talk business, this is the place to be.

Sam Kinugawa, a master of whiskies and mixology who trained in Tokyo, leads the Bar. This alone is worthy of a visit, for KL is lacking in honest whisky bars, one where you can sit down and learn about whiskies from the bartenders without having to battle with the surrounding noise. If Sam isn’t too busy, he’d be more than willing to explain exactly what you’re drinking, or what you should. The space itself is super stylish in a way that intimate bars are — the strategically placed spotlights accentuate the sexiness of this place. I suggest you sit at the bar if you want to learn about your drink. Although whiskies(Japanese and otherwise) are a bit of a specialty, they also have some pretty nice cocktails. But I’m happy with an old-fashioned or a whisky on the rocks for a belly-warming end to the night.
