Visited Lobbee while I was visiting a friend for dinner at Empire Damansara — and also because of my craving for som thum! However, the food here was slightly disappointing as I was expecting something more flavorful, so theirs were more to the mild taste’s side. That being said, you might like their food if you prefer something milder and not too spicy. We tried their big prawn combo which was meant for three people, but we came in as party is two and found the portion just right for two. I found their prawns not too fresh though — that might have a bit to do with the small crowd at the place despite of at dinner hours. I would head somewhere else for Thai food if my craving hit again, honestly.

Had heard about the lobster tom yam online, so I went to see for myself. It’s located downstairs in one of the parking levels in Empire Damansara, one level below the Heritage Lane area. A one person portion of said lobster tom yam, at RM28 a bowl, is probably the most expensive bowl of tom yam I’ve ever paid to eat in my life. I wasn’t expecting a huge lobster, but a lobster where the head is several times the size of its body was… erm… hmm… I was kinda expecting some more protein than just what little lobster flesh I got AND the hard boiled egg. They also have other shellfish options that you don’t typically see in Thai food, but I don’t remember what they are now. Drinks are nothing to write home about. As for the spice/heat levels of the tom yam soup, you can ask for them to tone it down some. Because it only opened about a month ago, there’s no GST charge, but there is a 5% service charge.
