Whenever I think of Murni, all I can think of is the pan-fried pandan chicken. It’s sweet and salty at the same time with tons of unique flavours. Have it with the nasi lemak and it is heaven. Their fried omelette is delicious as well but ask them to hold the green chillies. I almost fainted once when I accidentally bit on one. If you love green chillies then it’s perfect for you. The maggie goreng is one of their signatures. The gravy they used to fry the noodles is phenomenal. The chicken pieces in the noodles are pretty blend though but I can look past that. I recommend you get the teh ais with very less ice. They tend to put way too much ice, burying the great tea flavour in it. The teh o’ ais is really good as well but it can be a little bit too sweet. Tell them you want it with less sugar syrup so you can really enjoy the sweetened tea like I did.

With branches in 6 hotspots around town, it’s hard to not hear of Murni Discovery if you’re a food junkie. Delivering a variety of food of a combination of Malay, Chinese, Indian, Western and Italian cuisines in HUGE portions for cheap, Murni never seems to disappoint my hungry tummy in the middle of the night. The store opens from 8am everyday to 2am most days 3am on Fridays and Saturdays(SS2 branch opens til 5am everyday!) so it’s also great for those late night ‘paktor’s– wink wink! :P Parking is always an issue here for me here as well because there just seems to always be a ton of people(and rightfully so)! It’s a tad bit dark here as well(or should I say ‘dodgy’, whoops!) so girls, be careful here at night and make sure your male companion walks you back to your vehicle. Anyway, for less than RM20, you can land yourself a huge plate of pretty much everything. What’s great about their dishes is that they always seem to be a little bit of a twist to it or if not, super amplified. Solf shell crabs, Mee Raja(bestseller), Loh Shee Fun, steaks, spaghetti, pasta, fried rice and pretty much whatever you need. They offer a range of interesting drinks as well! They are a tad bit pricey though… and I personally feel they’re average. On top of that, service here is great too. There are a ton of staffs running around so your attention is always met. If you’re looking for a night out eating with your friends, Murni is your best bet at being thrifty but also filling that empty tummy to the brim.
