I’ve only been here once and its like my first time trying Korean food. Though it was a weekend afternoon, there were quiye a few empty seats around. My friend and I decided to give the place a try since he likes Korean food. The menu was pretty simple and straightforward as there are a few sets and ala carte meals. I always go for the hard lean meat between chicken and beef. If im not mistaken I went for the Honey garlic chicken set meal. The food arrived quite fast though as for the taste, I would say«meh». Its just okay. Probably thats how Korean food tasted like or rather the restaurant was not up to par for it? The pricing on the other hand was reasonable but I realized the portion has been getting smaller after scrollong through my friends feed probably due to our tax and cost!

I am in AWE with this place. Ok well I know some of us might think that this is just another Korean restaurant but well, I love it! I like how they have set meals for some of us who wants to try almost everything they offered in their menu. That’s a brilliant way to do it :) This is a place best for big groups because their set menu can cater up to 3 – 4 pax. Just get more of these sets and share around! I love their Pajeon(Pancake), sundubu chigae, their CHICKENWINGS, their Honey glazed Chicken and so much more! I love how they serve brown rice instead of white rice! It’s so much of a better option for those that are health conscious :) Great for elderlies too! Their food service is really prompt as well. Minutes after the order was taken, we already have our drinks, and up next will be our food! As I was really hungry, it really helped and I was feeling so blessed to have such good food lying in front of me! I will definitely patron this place over and over again!

This is the second time we eat at Dubu Dubu. I really like the fact that they have a promo meal that you can share and the cost is pretty decent. The restaurant is quite big and the pre made set they offer is very filling. The lunch for two for only RM32 is my favourite :) My boyfriend had the Honey Garlic Bulgogi and I have the Spicy Seafood Ramyeon. Both very delicious with the second option being quite spicy. The staff is pretty nice but a little slow and my only pet peeve is when they can barely understand us due to the language barrier. I really like the restaurant and I will definitely go back but one thing to keep in mind is the portion size. The Bulgogi is pretty small so if you are hungry to choose something extra on the side of pick the Ramyeon as it quite large.

I would consider Dubu Dubu a Korean fast food outlet. The menu is small with not much choices but it’s good for a quick Korean fix plus I am always fascinated by the purple Dubu rice they use in their meals. I always go for the dol sot bibimbap, which is a mixture of different vegetables sitting atop a bed of Dubu rice and comes with a sweet/spicy Korean sauce that makes the entire dish! Because bibimbap is one of my most favourite korean dishes, I’ve had the chance to try out bibimbaps from other Korean restuarants and I must say that Dubu Dubu’s is one of the worst ones available. The rice is always burnt at the bottom for some reason and there is never enough sauce. The bf ordered the Honey Garlic Bulgogi Beef/Chicken set(another point to note is that it is always better to order the set, price difference between ala carte and set is like 2−3RM but the set gives you a bowl of rice and ‘banchan’ which are 3 side dishes of the day). The beef was a little overcooked for my bf. It was super rough and couldn’t really taste the honey too. In terms of the ambience, if you’re into K-pop, Dubu Dubu displays a continuous stream of K pop music and videos on their TV displays hung on the walls of the restaurant. This restaurant needs to serve more meat — for the price im paying I don’t feel like I’m getting enough — but I see this as a Korean fast food outlet, as opposed to a Korean dining restaurant. Notice the difference?

I came to know about Dubu Dubu from my friend, who is also crazy over Korean and spicy food — same as me. Dubu Dubu is located next the Food Republic in One Utama(New Wing). The place is bright and spacious, and the servers are always very friendly. Personally, I felt Dubu Dubu is more of a fast food concept. They have some varieties on the menu but not extension. I was recommended to try the Kimchi Jiggae by my friend, so I went ahead and ordered it. The kimchi jiggae was definitely spicy, but I felt the heat came from the ginger instead of the kimchi. I do not like the kimchi jiggae but I love the purple rice that came with the dish. It’s much more healthier than white rice and I enjoy the texture of the purple rice a lot. They have ala carte and set on the menu, but it’s advisable to have the set instead. With a price difference of RM2-RM3, you’ll be getting the side dishes and a bowl of rice. Overall, Dubu Dubu might not be as authentic as some of the Korean restaurants, but they definitely are the place to be if you want to have a quick fix for your Korean food cravings.
