This is another popular brunch spots in KL, with some creatively named items on the menu. I ordered the sumo breakfast item, expected it to be a slightly bigger portion dish, however the portion here is just slightly smaller than what I expected. However, the food here tasted quite good and the coffee was above average as well, in my opinion. I quite liked the blend of beans that they were using then. While price wise, you’d just expect the general café prices in KL nowadays. This place is located in Publika itself, so parking your car usually wouldn’t be a problem — unless you’re here during peak hours. One thing though, if you are coming here during brunch hours on weekends, be prepared to get your number and wait for up to half an hour, or more if the crowd is huge.

Quite nice but a bit pricey for the location. Also, there should be offers/deals combining food and coffee. Last but not least, why not have anything with pork? it does not seem like an «only muslims» place at all so it’s a bummer there are not more options to please non-muslim Malaysian people /foreigners tastes

The Red Beanbag at Publika is a great brunch option or breakfast-for-any-meal with friends. With its extensive poached eggs menu– this is the place for fans of eggs benedict and variations thereof! The other items on the menu are just as tantalizing for breakfast-food lovers around. There’s free wifi, a good laid-back vibe, and good food to boast. I’m giving three stars because they are strict on food swaps etc, which anyone can respect. Unfortunately for me, they don’t do any gluten free swaps nor do they accommodate for that concern very well. GF kindred spirits would have a hard time truly appreciating this place. If you’re GF and you’ve got brunch plans here with friends, do yourself a favor and eat beforehand or rally the troops for another spot.

It’s 3 stars for me this visit this time as again, I wasn’t able to sample the food to give the place a more holistic review. I visited The Red Beanbag(TRB) 2 stars and they had to close early for some private event. Hence, I was not able to try their food. This time round, though, I had a good meal at Journal by Plan B before remembering that I wanted to try the food here. *Slams forehead. Quite surprising that on a Sunday evening, there wasn’t much crowd at around dinner time. The Latte was smooth-bodied with a pleasant aromatic aftertaste. My partner and I also ordered the Organic Fruity Coffee Tea as the write-up sounded interesting enough. However, it tasted like a blend between English Breakfast Tea and Red Date Tea with a slight sourish undertone — kinda weird for me. The atmosphere is great at The Red Beanbag and a great place to chill with friends. Located at the Social Section of Republika, one will be spoilt for choice but if you’re in the area, do stop by TRB for a cuppa. You won’t regret it.

So far, our most favorite brunch restaurant at Publika. After scooting and cycling on Sunday mornings(thanks Publika!), The Red Beanbag makes a perfect stop for a western meal. It’s best to go as soon as the restaurant opens because the place is known to be very popular. Pancakes, eggs, steak, salads, soups… they have your staple breakfast and lunch items here. The mushroom soup was excellent, so was the salmon salad. We fought over the pancake stack, and I claimed the bread. The ambiance is casual, not too cramped, and the service is very friendly and accommodating. While we want to try other brunch places in Publika, it’s a bit tough to skip this place on Sundays.

You must try Egg Benedict if you do love crispy bacon! Recommended by a friend, I was lucky that just got the last table during Saturday lunch time before a huge queue came. I would say I wanted to try every single meal from the menu.

The Red Bean bag was one of the leading restaurants in the whole brunch area. Remember when everyone was having brunch all the time, and a million brunch places popped up? yup so i finally got myself to red bean bag to see what all the craze was about and yet again was fairly disappointed. I guess i ordered the wrong thing, everyone says order the baked eggs but on my first trip i had the eggs benedict which wasn’t that good cause the hollandaise sauce was overpowering. I did however thoroughly enjoy the salted caramel cheesecake, it was really so good. On my next trip i had the baked eggs, and was happier indeed. it was tasty and better than the baked eggs i had at Acme Bar(costs less too). On weekends the wait at red bean bag can be pretty long so dont go on an empty stomach, you’re not gonna be pleased. They do however give you a number so you can sit down whike waiting to be called to your table.

I love this place. Among all the brunch places in town that has been hyped up to no end, this is the only place that really lives up to it. Consistently good food, especially with their poached eggs. The poached eggs here best embody the term«yolk porn” — always done just right, with the yellow yolk oozing out at the mere nudge of your fork. I almost always get the Eggs Atlantic(RM22) because it has never failed me before. Two pieces of fluffy French toast, one topped with shimeji mushrooms and the other with Australian baby spinach, both with smoked salmon piled up high and finished off with a perfectly poached egg and a blanket of Hollandaise sauce. The coffee here is top notch, always excellent. I wouldn’t have expected anything less from the home of Malaysia’s #1 barista, anyway. The servers here are always quick and responsive. The only downside of RBB is the long wait. Be prepared to wait half an hour on weekend mornings just for a table!

One of my favourite hang out/brunch/coffee to go place in Publika. Honestly everything in Red Beanbag is delicious. We ordered a RBB’s Specialty Baked Eggs served with crusty bread — eggs cracked into a baking dish and baked with tomatoes, potatoes and cheese. It was super amazing. Without fail going to everyone introducing them is the Classic French Toast. The toast is coated with almonds and served with fruits and maple syrup on the side. Until now I still crave for the toast and I will be back for moreeee. Coffee is excellent specifically Mocha, service is great, ambience is cosy — best place.

Of all the western themed cafes that offers western breakfasts, The Red Bean Bag is probably one of the best café/restaurants that I’ve tried. I’m always a fan of simple comfort food meals. However, Red Bean Bag is basically off limits during weekends(it doesn’t matter what time of the day), as they are extremely packed and it would usually take upwards of an hour to be able to secure a table/seat. Everything about Red Bean Bag is just perfect and subtle from the their furnishings and decorations to their gastronomic meals. One thing that I liked about Red Bean Bag is that they offer subtle yet delicious meals, my all time favourite here has got to be their Croque Monsieur(Grilled Cheese and Ham Sandwich). I would only order that every time when I’m here couple with my usual cuppa latte. If you’re not convinced, you better come over Red Bean Bag and verify it for yourself, you know I’m not kidding.

Visited here with friends and you wouldn’t believe me if I said it’s one of the hipster –styled café. It’s a must to visit this café when you’re here in Publika. The environment layout makes you feel peaceful, this is the kind of place to visit when you want to do your work and also the place to be to when you want to have a meeting with your clients or even just meet up with friends. We ordered a few dishes and all of them tasted very nice but the one that stood out the most was«Fowl Luck» which was about(RM26). Although it is pricey, I think it was worth it because all the ingredients complimented each other and it made the dish really great. Other dishes that we liked were«The Benedict» which was also around(RM20) that tasted really rich in flavor. The staff here were very friendly and greeted us with smiles. But The Red Beanbag can be quite crowded during lunch hours so be sure to come here earlier to have your brunch. This place also welcomes furry friends to tag along but is only allowed to sit outside.

Brunch time is good. ;) Love their signature baked eggs. It’s like combo with eggs and sausages. They have many other dishes like ‘The Pitaful Duck’, ‘Benedict 3′, ‘Smashing Avocado’. For those who like brunch time, this is one of the places to head to. Hot chocolate is good too! You gotta be here early just to queue up too. Oh, do try their mille crêpe or desserts too Overall experience: 4⁄5 Price Rating: 3⁄5

Before I ate here, I noticed that this café kept popping up on my Instagram feed so naturally I was curious. I’ve eaten here a few times and so far have had nothing but good experiences. The café is located upstairs and if you are unfamiliar with Publika, you may need to ask for directions(as I did). They have both indoor and outdoor seating and the café interior is nicely done up and very bright. The overall vibe is a mix of hipster and hippie — if there even is such a thing. In terms of food, I have come here only in the mornings and so always had breakfast here. The best way I can think of to describe their food is ‘hearty’. I quite liked their baked eggs which is served in a baking dish with some sausages and a tomato-like sauce. Their french toast is simply divine, but rather sinful so I usually get it to share with my dining partner. Their signature breakfast platter was good too but very filling so I would only opt for this if I was really famished. Usually I get their eggs benedict which is done just right in my opinion. I had heard that this place served good coffee and the baristas were really really good so even though I am not a huge coffee lover, I have tried their Mocha and their Flat White. Surprisingly, their Mocha is the best I have ever had. It was so good in fact that one day I had two cups! Of course, true coffee snobs would tell me that Mocha is not really ‘true’ coffee since it has chocolate too, but who cares. It was awesome.

This is the first restaurant that I tried out in Publika. I came here for a double-date with another couple. This is certainly a date-friendly restaurant. Nothing too fancy but not too casual as well. Their menu changes from time to time but one thing is for sure, they really do like their eggs. Almost everything on the menu had an egg component in it, I don’t have a problem with that, and I love eggs. But it was dinner time so we opted for more hardy main courses. I had the Fowl Luck and it was absolutely delicious, the chicken leg was cooked perfectly it was moist and tasty. The roasted vegetables that accompanied the dish was spot on, when I was done the plates was clean. My friend had the risotto, which I found pretty bland. It tasted like porridge with cheese to me or many I’m just not a fan of porridge like dishes. For dessert we had the heavenly tiramisu to share, although I must admit it was good that I kind of ate most of it. This is a nice place to chill out, we sat outside and it was cool at breezy at the time so we decided to stay a little longer after desert and enjoy a glass of wine.

At first I thought this place would have all their sittings on a bean bags, but sadly that’s not the case. They only have a few of the, it would be much more interesting if you have to sit on the bean bags. This is just another ordinary coffee cafes which is located on the upper floor of the shop lots right outside the Publika mall. Either you take the stairs up or go through the bridge from the mall. This place depending on the time, is always crowded. I think you can book a table but better just come earlier before lunch/dinner. I like their food and coffee, the egg benedict 2.0 was simply awesome. The flat white has that bitter taste that I love, means less on the milk. Though I couldn’t sit inside, I enjoyed the balcony area. The wind breeze and coffee just made it feel relaxing for me. Good services by the waiters. This place is okay for my standard, just probably it’s a little hard to find this place since it’s behind the stage area of Publika.

Red Bean bag wouldn’t be the typical place you’d randomly walk into because it’s on the upper floor on the outside area of Publika. When we stroll around, we almost immediately just stick to what we see that catches our eye level. I think people who are adventurous and want to try new things would probably walk in here. It’s right on top of Dr. Café, which is right next to BlackBox. My favorites would have to be the baked eggs because of how they cook it. I always ask for it with bread and baked beans on the side and sometimes salad. Out of all the deserts they have the Nutella Mini Crêpe is to die for! I’m craving for it as I speak about it right now.

The Red Beanbag is a fun and warm place where the servers were very friendly and the food were good. Ever since the opening, the place is always crowded and you must be really patience in queueing up. I’ve heard and read so much good comments on this Australian-inspired café, and I know I must make drop by the café to try it out myself. The interior was decorated with simple and rustic designs, and you can spot some beanbags hanging on the wall. We were pretty late when we got there, so we just had the coffee instead. The coffee was aromatic and has the right bitterness to it. To make it even better, my coffee was served at a perfect temperature. I’ve had coffee served to me warm instead of hot, and that totally ruined the taste. If you plan to have proper meal at the place, then you have to be there before 4pm. The kitchen closes from 4pm — 6pm every day, and only coffee and cakes are available at that time.

This place specializes in western breakfasts! They serve one of the best breakfast I have tasted. However, during weekend, the queues are crazy! By crazy I mean 1 – 2 hours of waiting just to be seated! Worse if you come in a big group. There was once, my family and I waited for almost 2 hours just to be seated. We were all starving by the time we are seated. Wanted to bring the parents here to try out some good breakfast. But I think it’s not that recommended to bring elderly or young kids here on a weekend. However, after the long wait, they did enjoyed their meals very much. Every one of us love the food we ordered. Ever since the long waiting experience, I stop going on a weekend but sometimes I still go back for their all day breakfast after work. During week night, the place is much quieter. No queue required and I can enjoy my meal peacefully. A great place /must visit for western breakfast lovers. Love their Egg Benedict(couldn’t remember it’s name).

Who hasn’t heard of The Red Beanbag? Set in the ever so trendy Publika, Red Beanbag has been the toast of all breakfast and brunch places. Australian-inspired, it is a step away from the normal Asian fare we’re used to. My most recent visit was on an early morning weekend and to my surprise, there were people already waiting around before opening hours. And so we joined the masses, my friend and I. I’m glad we did though. As usual, their breakfast was satisfying and set the mood for the day. However, as great as this place is, I don’t come here as often as I like to because of prices. Compared to your neighbourhood kopitiam or hawker stalls, red beanbag is expensive. But it does have a unique ambiance that you can’t get anywhere else.

Looking for a place to have a satisfying breakfast/brunch? I always have headache not knowing where to eat around my area and what i can always think of is toast and egg. I finally came to this place when i was about to meet up with a friend, i made the café as an excuse to bring her here for me to try their food. I heard the baked eggs and signature breakfast was good. Not to mention the salmon with toast and mushrooms… yummy! The food is quite pricey it can be from Rm17 — RM25 so make sure to save your«angpau» money for this. just kidding. The barista working here won Malaysia Barista Championship competition last year and his flat white is PERFECT! Not to mention this place is dog-friendly and it is pork free.
