This place would pass of as a normal franchise noodle place if you ever drive by and I am glad that by local friends introduced me to this place. Nippy noodles is not tangy and sharp tasting as the name implies, but prides on their traditional handmade noodle with real chefs and bamboo rods. After quite a long wait, even when the restaurant is deserted, I got my bowl of nippy noodle with pork and salted vegetables. At first glance it look very normal, nothing special just like an average bowl of wanton noodles when but I have my first bite, the aha moment came. Gummy and very very chewy. The sensation of chewing the wanton noodle is completely different with what you averagely have. The ingredients that comes with it is equally delicious with light use of salt and soy sauce, which I really appreciate. I would come back here again for the good food, decently priced meal(RM10-RM15) and the ambiance. Comfy enough for a convenient dine out and not packed at all during the weekdays. However, I did heard my friend mentioned that at certain peak hours the place can be rather crowded so do avoid that.

Relatively close to Zab Zab Thai Noodles is Nippy Noodle Restaurant. My friends and I headed over after our lunch at Zab Zab as we were still hungry from the small portions of noodles. It was no surprise that we had to wait another 30 minutes to get a seat. Shouldn’t be a problem now that the boat noodle fad is over. It looked like the restaurant was run by a family which seemed organized and has good planning skills. Walking in, we were hit by a gust of cold air which was much better than Zab Zab where it was stuffy and sticky. The interior was colorful and has bright colors. A very modern concept I would say. The furniture a was white in color and it felt very clean. The menu is the same as most boat noodles except for the portion is a little bigger. Taste wise, I was disappointed with the soup and the texture of the noodle. The soup didn’t pack enough flavor and the noodles were too springy. Being in a monopolist industry, price is set at the same level $ 1.90 a bowl.
