New boss in the house. There are more Thai food available in Zab Zab. However, my favorite boat noodle has gone. Their soup boat noodle is still good but the dry boat noodle is similar to wan tan mee taste. Well, I will still come back for the soup one since no other boat noodle shop serve better than Zab Zab.

It’s a pretty authentic Thai restaurant when you see 70% of their customers are Thai. Their boat noodles(kueyteo) are quite awesome! I love their soup, dry, tomyam and clear soup. It only costs rm1.90 per bowl and their portion are decent too(at least 2 – 3 bites). However, their other Ala carte food are so-so only. Thai ice tea only rm3.90. Overall: value for money. Definitely will go back again for their boat noodles only.

Boat Noodle took Kuala Lumpur by storm. People were posting photos of bowls stacked sky high and the before and after photos of their feast, but sadly it turned out being just a fad. Boat Noodle originates from Thailand, and got the name from being commonly served on boats, usually in small bowls. The queue was mad, we waited almost an hour to get a seat and this was before the restaurant even opened for business. You have a choice between glass noddle or kuey teow and a dry or wet soup base. Priced at only RM1.90 per bowl, I had 3 of each. Meaning glass noddle with a wet soup base and glass noddle with a dry base(3x). So that came up to 12 bowls now that explains the bowl stacking trend. Something unusual, you are given sugar as a condiment together with fish sauce and chili flakes. Personally I didn’t quite enjoy the taste; it tasted of extensive usage of herbs and preservatives. Also, the portion size was extremely small which didn’t allow me to experience the taste much. It was stuffy and crowded; staffs were busy and not very alert.
