Shabu Garden is one of the shabu shabu restaurants at Kuchai Lama. I guess shabu shabu isn’t a strange dining place in Malaysia nowadays. For those still don’t know what shabu shabu, it is Japanese style steamboat. However, Shabu Garden isn’t in buffet style. Customers can order in set and add-on with alarte carte. Shabu Garden has very simple and clean dining place. There were few tables outside, so if customers want to smoke, they can consider to sit outside. In Shabu Garden, everyone has their own pot. So, everyone can choose their own soup. There are 7 types of soups if not mistaken, I would say Shabu Garden has given the most number of choices among all the shabu restaurants I have been going to. The order type, I would say it is simple; yet, a little difficult. We chose our own sets, and then we would need to refer few sections to choose for our materials. For example, Set 1 choose 4 from section A, 3 from section B and 1 from Section C. Well, the actual menu you can see it yourself when visiting to Shabu Garden. The materials were fresh. And Shabu Garden has their own made food, for example, fish ball. That was fresh and delicious. We all love it a lot. Next time, when we go again, we will sure order their fish ball. They also have various types of dipping sauces provided. So, you can choose to have any sauce you want, unfortunately, they don’t have any signature sauce, all are sauce we know. In short, I highly recommend you to try out Shabu Garden, and don’t miss out trying their homemade materials.

It was raining one night and I was craving for steamboat. The queue at Shabu Garden caught my eye so I decided to give it a try. Luckily the wait wasn’t too long and I only had to wait about 15 minutes for a table as the restaurant was packed. The restaurant offers individual pots for everyone as it is more hygienic and you don’t have to share. They also have a wide range of condiments to go with your steamboat such as chilli, garlic, spring onions etc. Service is usually fast and efficient and it only takes a few minutes for the soup to boil. The prices here are reasonable and there are sets available which is great if you come in groups or a pair. The meat here is fresh and they serve pork as well. Street parking may be a little difficult to find so you might have to go a few rounds.
