Healy Mac’s

Healy Mac’s is open at Publika! Finally, a proper Irish pub there. It’s a great addition to the bar/​nightlife scene, rounding out the mall with a place to be casual, watch sports, and be in the mood for drinking and general cavorting with friends.
They’ve got screens galore for watching sports. In one night, I was able to watch the F1 Racing in Singapore, games for the Rugby World Cup 2015, and true to their roots, the All-​Ireland Gaelic Football Final all at the same time. And that was just with a seat outside. The indoor seating allows that plus prime real estate at the bar where you can be sure to bother the friendly bartenders for your next sip.
The bar’s got your standard pub fare– hearty mains to compliment the drinking expected at any pub. For my first visit, I opted for their Shepherd’s Pie. Good flavors, great portion! I was surprised to find no accompanying gravy, but it was just fine without. I was craving something sweet after and so also ordered their brownie with vanilla ice cream. Nothing to write home about– I found the dessert to be a bit dry and not what I was hoping for (moist, warm, gooey), but what more can you expect from a pub?
Overall, happy that Healy Mac’s is open in the area! Now, I don’t have to travel far to get a good drink and a guaranteed good time with friends.
