Restoran Soon Wah

This restaurant used to be my family favorite place for dinner during weekend. However over the years, it’s getting famous and attract more crowds. Hence, we are getting lazy to visit this restaurant as you will need to make reservation to dine in most of the time.
Tonight my dad thought of dining in out of sudden, so we try our luck to walk in without reservation. Thanks God we got a table for 9! Yea. I have a big family. So we ordered all of their signature dishes that we haven’t got to try for a long time. Their famous dish that you must ordered are BBQ pork ribs with watermelon, signature tofu, yam basket with chicken and nuts, claypot curry fish, sweet and sour fish and stir fried long bean. Yes! Yes! We have ordered it all.
Though is their signature dishes, but I feel the taste is not the same as before already especially the BBQ pork ribs with watermelon. The ribs is given in big size and thick, this it’s hard to chew.
It’s advisable to come before seven to avoid the crowds or call for reservation before you come.

This restaurant have been in town for quite a while. My friend have been telling me that they have a very famous ‘fish dish’. Though this restaurant is quite near to my house, I’ve never tried it before because during weekend, it is always super packed.
One day, I finally tried it. On a weeknight! No queues. Thank goodness. Finally tried that famous fish dish that my friend have been telling me. It’s actually a steamboat-​like dish. The special fish dish is actually a soup based dish. It is served in a hot pot. I find it decent but not to the extend of ‘super delicious’. Nice to have on a chilly /​rainy day.
Besides the fish in a hot pot, I’ve seen many people ordering their honey pork ribs with watermelon. Guess that must be one of their famous dish as well as most table has it.

I have finally managed to try this restaurant out. This restaurant is practically off limits during weekends if you don’t have a table booking in advanced. They are famous for their Hot Pot Fish soup (I apologised if i got the name wrong) and Hokkien fried noodles (this is actually my personal favorite). They are your usual Chinese restaurant serving myriads of Chinese dishes, which caters to even the most choosy customers.
As I said I only managed to try this restaurant out with my family on a midweek night as there are lesser crowd on week nights. But personally, I find this place rather generic to other restaurants in the area with the exception of their signature dish only. However, I still give this place a good rating as with the amount of loyal customers that visit this place, they can’t be wrong in terms of dining in a great restaurant.
