Was excited to try this place when it first opened. The only minus about this place is there no meat toppings — good for the vegetarian crown, I guess. The place is a bit small with a small counter and maybe two small table with one small table just out the door to enjoy the food outside. Hubby and I had the Margherita(just plain pizza with sauce and cheese) and the Peppe(crusts folded into an interesting shape stuffed with cheese and mushrooms). The taste is very simple but very good. I’ve never been to Italy so I can’t say about authentic taste, but most people I know that have been have loved this place. Take out is also available.

I saw that this was a new pizza place and had to give it a try. Atmosphere– open air, 4 seats at the counter and another 6 at the tables but feel a little cramped. Went here around 1900 so it wasn’t too hot outside. Menu– this place is an easy pic for you if you’re a vegetarian. I’m torn because this is the first pizza place(Italy and U.S.) that I’ve been to that had no meat toppings. Must be geared to the local healthy crowd. Was looking forward to some Italian sausage or some prosciutto to add to my pizza. Salami slices are not on the menu but available on request. Pizza– I lIved in Italy for 2.5 years. I prefer the Italian thin crust, fresh ingredients and cooked on a wood burning brick oven. Love that style vs thick cardboard pizza. I ordered the Napoletana. The sauce was a little too salty for my taste. The anchovies were there, tasty but not overpowering. I’d say 3.5 but will round down for now. Will try again in the near future.

There are many places in Yokosuka that have a decent pizza. There are few that have a dedicated wood oven and even fewer that have an authentic Italian style to them. If you like meat and all sorts of American style additions to your pizza — I would honestly encourage you to give up on that and try this place. The simplicity of this style of pizza is definately unique. We hade the Peppe(mushrooms and tomatos) and the Margareta(cheese) and by the pictures its pretty unique. Toss on the fact that, when the pizzas are sold out, this place closes — that it is all hand made and is very limited. I was able to enjoy a early dinner with the wife here but today they were sold out by 2 pm. The lunch menu looks to be the best bargain if you are looking to try it on a budget, but the dinner prices aren’t that bad as well. I always like supporting a small business and this place is very small. There are 4 counter seats, 3 tables of 2, and its definately has the European and Asian compact style going for it. I usually like having a lot of elbow room — but I will definately be back. The pizza was worth it and I definately want to try the Italian wines next time around. If you are addicted to Pizza Hut avoid this place, but if you still care about your taste buds and want to try the original origin, try this one. Its pretty refreshing…
