Di Punto is a great spot to hang out with friends for a happy hour type atmosphere. The atmosphere is so sleek and modern that walking into it is very appealing to the eye. I will say that if you really want to enjoy the wine, order a bottle. As a red wine lover, there is a bottle of Shiraz that is well worth the 3,000 yen. What I really enjoy is that the food selection is plentiful and the food is really good. Because I like to try everything, I think that I have tried most things on the menu. The ebi ajillo(shrimp in garlic sauce) are delicious and the sauce is perfect for dipping your bread. Recently, I tried the oysters with spinach gratin and my taste buds were also delighted. There are so many options that you will find something on the menu to please even the pickiest of eaters. Overall, Di Punto is definitely a go-to spot in Yokosuka. It can get pretty crowded during the week, but you can still enjoy a nice bottle, good music, good food, and an overall good time hanging with friends. I’m sure if you go, you’ll see me in there.

Di Punto is located right across from the West exit of Yokosuka Chuo station. More conveniently, it’s located next to my massage spot, Link. After our monthly Friday massages, we stop into Di Punto for wine, delicious food and conversation. While the place appears small from the outside, it is actually quite spacious. Di Punto is clean, classy and the service is great. On to the food and drinks… I love wine(no secret). The wine by the glass could be a disappointing 500Y Gallo(but, hey if you order the Gallo you know full well the brand). But take just a step up and you’ll get a decent Italian white or red for 600Y a glass or 2500(ish)Y a bottle.(More expensive options as well). Next, I love cheese. Lots of cheese options from a platter medley to fresh mozzarella, to a smokey cream cheese topped with honey. They have a rather creative salami/ham appetizer presentation. Then there’s the Shepard Pie… oh my. Meat, potatoes, cheese… it’s perfect. Since we do go monthly, we eat around the menu and last night I ordered the watercress with bacon and horseradish dressing, and it was so flavorful. I could eat that daily to get my greens. I really enjoy Di Punto’s atmosphere, food, wine, and service. And if you’re lucky, you’ll get a break dance show from the local teens in the square at Chuo when you leave.(I say this because the last two times we went, the kids were breaking it down dancing when we left… 80’s street style). Dinner and a show. Enjoy!

It is a chain wine bar near Moore’s city near the McDonalds. It has a neat vibe with chill music and a surprisingly large sitting area. We had a bottle of white with and order of ham and greens. The thin slices were smoked and delicious with the greens and went well with the wine. We also ordered the mountain and forest cheeses but they were out of the Japanese forest choice — so we went with the five cheese plate. They were high quality cheeses and I loved the mountain cheese the most. The cooked items were a let down — pizza was ok and the mussels were grilled and then dunked in white wine and didn’t have that nice wine flavor. This place wasn’t the best but it wasn’t bad. I think next time I want wine and dinner I will go to the Wine bar R in Zushi. This place is great for a bottle and some cheese.
