Muji Cafe

CAFE&MEAL MUJI is cafeteria style eatery. First, get your seat then pick delis or order, receive your order on the tray, and pay before eating. Cold tapped water is also self-​service. It’s quite a large space, and you feel comfortable staying as long as you wish. Contemporary drawings are on the wall for sales, and exhibition changes every so often.
You can find contemporary Japanese (or perhaps international style?) dishes as a meal set. It’s not traditional dishes but seasoned just right to match Japanese taste. Choice of 3 or 4 deli menu comes with white rice or bread. You can change white rice into mix grain rice. Miso soup is additional 150 yen, and soft drinks and tea or coffee are 200 yen. The best part of this place is that you can order as much or as small as you want!
It’s open 11 – 21:00. Its hard to find good homemade restaurants in reasonable pricing near Shinjuku station. So, this place is so crowded on a weekend or during a lunch time. On weekends, expect to wait more than 30 min unless you go there at 11 am.
Allergy notation for egg, milk, flour, peanut, buckwheat Soba, crab, and shrimp. Also, the have recipe book for your reference to find out all ingredients they used for each dish. Sorry; I did not check if they have one in English!

All of the larger Muji stores will have a café located inside them. They are not especially cosy in any way, but they do have a pudding similar to créme caramel that is GF!
That makes the Muji cafés a convenient place to go for a coffee around Japan, but if there are other options available I tend to prefer them. Prices are fair and they also offer some small dishes of food and a bigger selection of pastry for those not in need of GF alternatives.

Great cafeteria in the bottom of muji store. A good place to get quality coffee (I had two cups) and food for a small amount of money. Fine relaxing atmosphere and kind staff
