I chose this restaurant based on numerous articles on the best restaurants to check out in Japan(where«Lost in Translation» was filmed). My best friend and I came here, and this was our one big splurge of the night. Not only that, but it took us forever to get here via public transport. The best thing about this restaurant is the view. You get the whole breathtaking sight of Tokyo. The restaurant itself looks sleek but traditional. The way they present the food is incredibly artful and the service is superb(all service in Japan was actually quite superb)! Food on the other hand was MEH. For the prices we paid(spent $ 400!), I expected our dishes to taste better. We could have gotten a better meal at the Fish Market! If you’re looking for and out of body experience, I’d skip Kozue and try getting a reservation at one of the michelin star restaurants.

Fancy restaurant on the Park Hyatt Hotel. A definite place to bring a date to. But if you are a tourist and want to partake of what Japanese food really taste like in Japan, this might not be the place to go to. It’s probably what we call gourmet. All the dishes we ordered were presented beautifully much like most of the food they serve all over Japan. As I try to recall our experience, no dish actually stood out. If you’re looking for one night to splurge and couldn’t get that elusive reservation at any of the 3 Michelin starred restaurants in the city, this may be a good place to go to. Service was great, restaurant is romantic and the view of Tokyo is excellent.

Looks can be deceiving. A fancy restaurant sitting atop the 41st floor of the Park Hyatt(Filmed in «Lost in Translation») this was a restaurant recommended by a blog from Findmefoodie. The views are incredible and one of the two few deciding factors that changes my mind from rating it a 3 star experience. The other is the service and plating. Each individual plate and bowl were fine craftsmanship. If only the same could be said about the food. Everything was pretty bland. With exception to the wagyu beef which was melt in your mouth … nothing was really fantastic. For the curious travelers, I would choose curry tonkatsu over this place any day of the week.
