A tart specialty pastry shop & café. Frips(not Flips) reminds you that if you have Unilocal app installed on your smartphone, you don’t need to pay a premium for everything, even in one of the most expensive cities in the world. In another words, you don’t need to pay 1000 Yen per slice of fruit tart in Tokyo. While Frips is located right next to Shinjuku Gyoen Park, is it off on a less traveled road away from busy Shinjuku foot traffic. Perhaps because of this secluded location, the price here is relatively lower than other competitors. 324 Yen — Hot coffee 540 Yen — American Cherry Tart — — — — — — — 864 Yen for a nice afternoon café Tart: Amazingly delicious! Real seasonal fruits are used in good portion. While the size is not huge, it was just enough. Eat-in: While most people take out their tart, you can eat in as well. They have one table inside and another on their terrace. Note that this store is tiny, so don’t count on getting a seat.

A friend of mine took me and my husband to this cute little bakery near Shinjuku gyoen and we both loved it. This place has variety of tarts! And we ordered Strawberry tart, Kiwi tart and mixed berry tart and they all were so delicious! I especially loved the strawberry tart’s custard. It was rich and went so well with strawberries on the tart. They also have some baked goods so this place would also be a perfect bakery to pick up some sweets to bring to your friends house and etc. They are about 450yen ~ 600yen. And they also have baked goods. There a few small tables and chairs so you could eat their sweets here. But we decided to go to Shinjyuku gyoen and eat their tarts on the grass and that was awesome. The tarts added some happiness to our sunny Sunday afternoon. Highly recommended!!!
