This is a cute little café really close to daikan yama station. Interior really resembles a hawaiian feel. The café originated in the US and made its way over to tokyo in two central locations: daikanyama and omotesando. But I would recommend going to the one in daikanyama because it has the full menu and range of items and a great big café with plenty of seating indoor and outdoors. If they still have the bread pudding HAVEIT! This is the first and best bread pudding I have ever had, and to this date none have come close to competing with it. In the summer I really enjoyed the matcha boba tea, the only boba that didn’t give me the runs.(ew) A plus is that the staff is super friendly and all of their togo cups are made of natural ingredients, thus making them biodegradable. Yay urth! Cheers!

This place is one of my favorite places to eat in Japan. It’s close by to where I work out, and its a great place to just relax and eat healthy after just pushing myself really hard. Everything here is really fresh. Their salads are really top notch, and come with a light dressing that I really enjoy. I always go with the chicken salad, which comes with a pesto marinated chicken breast that is as good as any I’ve ever had. The lattes are also excellent. They offer a really good selection of lattes made of about 10 different types of tea, all of which taste amazing, and also look amazing. Every time I’ve gone here I’ve received a different foam pattern/art on top. Of the three or four types of tea I’ve tried so far, I must say the moroccan is my favorite. So in closing, if you’re looking for some health food, a good latte, or just somewhere to sit and enjoy the day, I highly recommend Urth as the place to go.

Truly authentic, good customer service shines through when the place is really busy. Urth Caffe in Daikanyama sadly was not the case. The person who(I hope is not, for the sake of their business) may be the manager or the«greeter» who directs the customers to open tables was curt and pompous. I walked in when this«greeter» was not at his position so I went to the only open table for 2 but w/only 1 chair. My friend was joining me so I asked for another chair but the staff promptly forgot. 15 min. passed and no chair. I spotted a table that opened so I went across the room & as soon as I put my bag down, the«greeter» guy zoomed over & practically yelled at me that the seat was already given to another party. I had no idea that there was a system where the staff allocated tables & this guy had so many other kinder ways to inform me. I had already ordered food & my friend came so we stayed but this bad customer service pretty much ruined this place for me. Definitely not the mellow vibes of LA I had hoped to feel recreated. That can’t be taught through their manuals.

Serves some of the best boba tea in Japan. Fave is the organic matcha blended boba. Find standard too sweet. Personally ask for 1⁄3rd sweet, extra tapioca on the side.

Went to the tokyo branch today! The drink options were lovely but not comfy chairs(metal) and no wifi! Such a shame!

I usually go to the one on Melrose and DTLA. I go to Tokyo a lot for business and my friend suggested to go to Urth Café @Daikanyama. I was kinda excited to go see how this one look like. I ordered an omelet without cheese since my tummy wasn’t feeling great. Here they brought my omelet and there was cheese covering my whole omelet! Ok, I lost my words but didn’t complain since they were very busy taking orders… I carefully put cheese aside and had a bite, sorry, it wasn’t good at all. not like one that I eat in LA. salad was even worth. It was not fresh and over«dressinged». I was so disappointed and regret that I even went all the way to Daikanama for that. I can’t believe that they are actually«Urth Café». Not even close! It’s a shame.

Urth Café Tokyo — Transported directly from the streets of LA. Honestly, entering this store I felt like I was transported into their US location. The displays, water area, smells, and even their bathrooms look like the US! Not to mention the amazing pastry/cake display that your eyes feast on when you walk in. The store is located in the super chic neighborhood of Daikanyama and is open and spacious. They even have outdoor seating. Urth is famous of their organic and healthy drinks and food. They offer a wide range of coffee, juice, smoothie, and boba filled teas. Their menu is heavy on the breakfast options(granola, oatmeal, eggs, breakfast burritos etc.) but they also have a nice selection of sandwiches, paninis, and amazing salads. Personally, I love their entrée salads. I ordered the chicken salad and was pleasantly surprised(kinda shocked) at the amount of protein and vegetables that arrived in front of me. Initially I found it a bit pricey, but for the amount of food, I think it’s well worth it. I recommend checking out this restaurant if you’re craving a dose of LA, US portions, healthy protein/veg combo… or are craving one of their decadent cakes. Whatever the reason, I highly recommend this joint.
