I thought based on the four yen signs that this would be a high end sushi bar but it wasn’t. It was average. The slices of sashimi were uneven, like they served me random bits from someone else’s leftovers. The octopus was chewy and bland. The toro and uni were pretty good, however. At least none of the fish was chewy or stringy like some of the nasty fish I’ve had in the tourist part of Tsukiji. I was also disturbed to see the chefs were mass producing rolls and nigiri as I was the only one in the restaurant at 5:30. I’m annoyed they had me come in that early when no one else was there. I think if you’re gonna fly all the way to Japan to eat sushi you should only eat at a quality level you can’t get in the states, so places like Sushi So, Sushi Saito, and Jiro. Otherwise eat the delicious cheap foods like ramens, curries, yakitoris, etc.
