A total accidental find wandering down a corridor near Kintetsu Nara Station. Just went of the station and down the arcade a bit was what I figured out to be a food court. Later I figured out is is the Naramachi food court. Look for the sign. I wandered in some were open, some were not but Yakatori sounded good tonight so this was the random choice of the night. There is an english menu but the drink menu is not. Just ask the people working what sake they prefer and you’ll do fine, that is what I did and was happy. The Hatsu(hearts) were good. Bigger than I’ve had at other places but still very tender. Also, the skin with salt is nice as well as the shitake. I tried the livers, which were fine, but not my favorite but maybe I’ll try with the sauce next time instead of the salt. Don’t know what the Sake was but it was recommended by the nice young lady who took my order and actually did all the cooking. I think she was getting to practice tonight but in any case she did a great job and I enjoyed my meal. I also tried their tomato salad. Got to have some Vegetables you know! This was really very nice and perfect on a hot evening. This place is not listed on Unilocal so I added it to it while sitting there. The english name was on their menu but not much else and can’t find anything on line. But it was fun, They practice their english on me and the guy next to me gave me some high fives for my bad Japanese phrases. Just walk down the arcade from the station heading south, look to your left, go past the convert belt sushi, and you’ll see the entry to this food court. Go all the way to the end have enjoy. Prices are very reasonable. And they have a few other things you might want to try.
