My wife and I absolutely adore Lebanese cuisine, so when we saw Sindbad’s sign, we stopped dead in our tracks and investigated. The owner, named Joe, is a really friendly guy. The restaurant was closed since he was preparing for some kind of event that was happening that evening, but he took 15 minutes out and chatted with us. Since then, we’ve enjoyed his food immensely. Good Middle Eastern food is hard to come by in Tokyo, but this is as good as it gets. Chicken Taouk: A+ I almost never give A+ to anything, but this is well-deserving. Moist tender chicken, grilled(literally) to perfection. It came with some kind of white garlic sauce which was divine(PROTIP: Make sure you ask for the white sauce). Garlicky, chickeny, and grilly. It’s the PERFECT chicken kebob meat. Lamb Kebob: B Great flavor, but I’d prefer something a bit softer and moist(this was eaten take-out, so maybe that played a role). Still, it was flavored and cooked very well. Hummus: A– Excellent hummus. If there were a bit more garlic, it would easily be an A. Pita: A Very soft and flavorful pita bread. Obviously quite fresh. Tabouleh: A– Very nearly perfect too. It needed a little garlic and onion, but it had wonderful flavor, and just the right balance of mint and parsley. I was totally in love with it! Babaganoush: A A very strong A. I absolutely adored this dish. It had the right balance of flavors and and perfect consistency. I would be hard-pressed to find better babaganoush, and I’ve had more than my fair share of babaganoush over the years! Kafta Kebab: A– Delicious vibrant flavor. Very soft and moist. Grilled perfectly. It was WONDERFULLY fresh. It could’ve used slightly more cumin, maybe. But I would definitely recommend this dish to everyone unhesitatingly.
