We brought a party of 10 here for a client dinner and really could not be happier with the food and service. They really made it a special night. Sirloin, shrimp, lobster all excellent. Fun to cook it at the table. Frozen beer was a real hit. Service was simply outstanding! Bravo!

I always liked Jojoen ever since my first visit during the first international business trip(happened to be Japan) back in 2002. I tried different Jojoen in the past and food and service is always consistent. They provide you with apron to protect your clothes, as well as large size napkin to cover your purse or briefcase if you decide to put your purse on the chair. I didn’t feel necessary to cover my purse as they don’t have typical yakiniku smell. My clothes were fine at the end of the night. They only use high quality meat and they are so juicy and tender. It is easy to overeat as everything they serve is very good. Price is on higher end for yakiniku but easily justifiable for its service and quality of food they serve. I only get to eat at Jojoen every three to four years as Tokyo has so many other good place to eat but I am looking forward to my next visit whenever it may be.

I had received recommendations by some locals that Jojoen yakiniku was a must-try since I was looking for a good yakiniku restaurant, and found this location very conveniently at the the Shinagawa Prince Hotel. It is located on the 1st floor of the N Tower, which has a separate entrance adjacent to the main and annex towers. It certainly had a high-end atmosphere, very comfortable, spacious booths and courteous staff. You are offered bibs to protect your clothing as well as blankets to drape over your personal items(bags, jackets) while you dine. I was a little surprised that the grill actually had a heating element rather than coals, but the ventilation system in the grill did a fantastic job in trapping the smoke, you will not leave this place smelling like you were grilling meat. The menu is typical of yakiniku restaurants with a variety of meats, soups and rice dishes, however the grade of beef was anything but typical, very tender and juicy. The gyu-tan slices were surprisingly thick and the stone pot bibimbap was served up extra crispy. As mentioned, it is a higher-end establishment with some premium meats and we ended up spending around ¥8000 per person for dinner(the average price for beef items was about ¥2000), but it’s a very nice treat when looking to indulge in a fantastic meal.
