Mango Tree Café and Bar is always hopping in the evening time but they are also open for breakfast and lunch. I met up with a Japanese friend here for breakfast because the place she wanted to go to was not open at 8AM and this was nearby. It’s been 9 years since we last saw each other, so it was wonderful that she happened to be in Tokyo for a wedding that weekend!(She lives in Kobe.) I ordered mango pancakes, which came with three small pancakes drizzled with mango syrup(could have opted for maple syrup too), cubes of real mango, and whipped cream. It was light and tasty. My friend got their Thai chicken with rice, which she seemed to enjoy. The portions were small, even for Japanese portions in my opinion. The café had a steady stream of customers but was not too busy on a Sunday morning. It was a nice quiet place to catch up with a friend.

I love this place and visit it every time I’m in Tokyo. The menu is pretty simple and includes basic sandwiches and pastas, just like most cafes in Japan. The Hawaii Kona Coffee is a must try, but their regular coffee is pretty standard for Japan. There’s outdoor seating, but the restaurant has big bay doors that are open on nice days. It’s a great place to sit, have a cup of coffee, listen to airy music, and watch the passing crowds.

Can’t really complain about this place all too much as it is what it intended to be… It’s a pretty cool outdoor/indoor bar that blasts loud american music and is located directed across the street from the busy Shingawa station. The drinks here are pretty good, with large pours and big glasses. Service on the outside patio can be a bit poor, but primarily because they’re always crowded… Also, the outside section has a designated smoking section while the inside is non-smoking. This is a nice place to go in, grab some whiskey and people watch the night away. Pros– Drinks Music Indoor/outdoor Portions Cons– Loud Messy Service Outdoor smoking

Name of the place is «Mango tree café and bar». My observation is that it is a very Americanized place. It is at the entrance of Shinagawa Prince Hotel, where I stayed. I had my breakfast first day. They offered Mango Pancakes and coffee for a very reasonable price. Mango pancakes were small but tasted nice. They also had slices of fresh mango next to it. Coffee was small, as anywhere in Japan as compared to USA standards. Waitresses did not speak much English but it wasn’t too hard to communicate. They have outdoor and indoor seating. It looked clean. Food was served quick. They were playing American/English music in the speakers all the time. You can smoke if you sit outdoor patio. Overall okay place to have a nice breakfast.
