A friendly sports bar/pub in the Roppongi area. This was our first stop on our Roppongi daytime craft beer crawl. Closest subway is Roppongi station on the Hibiya line. About 8 min walk from the station. We were politely greatest and seated at the bar. Mid afternoon crowd was mostly foreigners and 2 locals. Sat right next to the taps. 5 available. We’re here for craft beer so we all went for the 13 Guns, an American style IPA. ¥1200 a full pint. A little pricey but pretty much the norm for a craft beer pint in Tokyo. Mild hoppy, not too strong. Taste really similar to my favorite IPA, Henry Weinhard’s Woodland Pass IPA. This is also a great place for watching sports. TVs all around. English Premier League football was on. Liked the vibe and the beer. Bookmarked!

Stopped in for drinks, all I can say is that they were not too good. Bartender was too busy playing on his phone.

Chilli Beef Nachos: A Suffered ever so slightly from the«bottom chips are plain» syndrome. I would’ve liked to have seen more salsa which wouldn’t have been a problem if we were in the restaurant(this was delivery). But really, it would make the difference between A(which is very nearly perfect) and an A+, heavenly perfection. These were so fantastic they definitely warrant a strong A rating. They should definitely sprinkle some beef chilli and cheese on the bottom chips to keep them interesting. Buffalo Chicken Wings(spicy): B Typical garden variety buffalo wings. That is to say, they were *delicious*, and I’d order them again, but when stacked up against other buffalo wings, they were average(just because most buffalo wings are delicious).

Since Hobgoblin is franchise pub, I’ve been to Kobe, Shibuya and Roppongi locations so far. Menu and quality are quite consistent across the nation(well. so far only 2 cities — Tokyo and Kobe). So I don’t think you’d be disappointed if you go to any other locations you are not familiar with. I use this joint for quick drinks with friends for good conversation and good chillaxation. Their finger foods are always good companion with whatever they have on tap and in bottles. If you’re a traveling from abroad and can speak English, this place will be your haven as staffs here speak English no matter which city in Japan you visit Anyways, the reason I’m writing a review for this location is that I’ve been using here for brunch. Particularly whenever they play fight events(boxing and UFC) on PPV. Mostly they play soccer events(i.e Première League), but they also play not-so-popular UFC here which I find very grateful. So used to watching UFC as part of night life, having brunch while watching UFC is quite refreshing and most importantly fun. I have been ordering«Sunday Roast» for past 2 occasions and I thought it was gorgeous. And I wasn’t wrong. My British friend also approved it this morning. I think I’m gonna come here pretty often from now on.
