One of the most fashion forward store in Japan, carrying both men & women’s apparel. I know that they have branches is Ginza and Yurakucho, but I like their Roppongi Hills store the best. The store is very spacious with mens on 1 °F and womens on 2 °F. If you care at all about fashion, you definitely need to checkout this store. Aside from individual boutiques found in Omotesando or Ginza, Estination and Shinjuku Isetan are two places that carry the best apparel products. Estination reminds me of Barney’s New York. It is essentially a select shop carrying some of the best brands in the world. IF you never ever want to spend money on clothing, please avoid this place. This place is EXPENSIVE. Men’s Brands: D Squared2, Alexander McQueen, Denham, Moncler, Thomas Browne, etc., just to name a few. Note that the majority of brands they offer are non-Japanese imports. So if you are an international traveler, you might say«why pay a Japanese premium when you can get them cheaper abroad?» Here is the thing. Some items are true imports, while others are designed for the Japanese market by the Japanese importer. I love these designed for Japan products, because they fit me better. Many true imports are designed for«big» people(ie fat). SALES: Twice a year, once in summer and once in the winter, they mark down their prices by 30−40%. I hate this. Why? Because I feel stupid buying anything here unless it is during those sale days. Usually in July and December, there are«secret sales» before they open up the sale to the general public. By the time general public sale starts, it is too late. All the good stuff is gone. In order to get in on the«secret», you need to apply for Estination Members Card. The last I checked, every non-sale item in the store was 7%OFF with the the card. They charge an annual fee, but it is well worthy it. SERVICE: Excellent. Employees here are fashion gods. I think they can walk in water. When you shop here, you really need to take full advantage of their knowledge. Ask them what is «in» and have them explain how to coordinate each of the items you are considering. VERDICT: A very useful store, since many brands are all under the same roof. The store attendants are true professionals. The only problem is that it is quite expensive. The store really helps make Roppongi Hills a destination spot.

Estination: the luxury select shop in Roppongi Hills. So stylish that I feel like I need to dress up to walk in there… Besides the international brands, I actually do like their original brand, Estination(duh). RIght now, I’m eyeing the camel coloured trendcoat. It’s really too cold to be thinking about spring but I’ve already been to the shop twice to try it out… so tempted to whip out my credit card… The store also stocks some really sexy pumps from Chemur. I love Chemur! Love Estination buyers for stocking them. Oh, not to mention stocking Rebecca Minkoff too, of course. Although there are Estinations in Yurakucho and Ginza, this one in Roppongi is definitely more well-stocked and has a lot more to see. Even if I’m not buying anything, when I’m in Roppongi for the museums, movies or nearby for dinner, I’ll still drop by to kill time and check things out. It never hurts to walk through the fragrance and beauty section to try on some perfume or new handcream.
