This place is the best hamburger place I’ve ever been to. Really, I was stunned at my first bite. What was surprising for me was their pati that’s made of 100% chuck eye roll and it has completely different flavors and textures from normal ground meat. It’s super juicy and flavorful. I had a «Onion & Mushroom Burger» — Its grilled onions and mushrooms go well with the pati and it’s really amazing. They have a variety of things on menu besides hamburgers so there should be something you’d like even if you are not really a huge burger person. Since this one is located in Roppongi Hills, you can drop by very easily when you come to the Roppongi area for shopping. I’ve had hamburgers from a number of different places in the US/Japan but this place surely stands out a notch.

Solid burger joint in Roppongi Hills. There’s about a dozen burger options plus a lot more non-beef sandwiches to choose from. Pieces ranged from about 1100 yen to 1600 yen for the burgers. The bacon cheeseburger was very good. The patty was well seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium. Huge pieces of thickly cut bacon, mayo, bbq sauce, tomatoes, grilled onions, and lettuce as well as a really great bun helped round out a very good burger. I’m knocking them down a star because the fries were mediocre at best. They weren’t fresh, lacked seasoning, and it was a pretty skimpy portion. Maybe I caught them at a bad time. Other reviews seemed to like the fries.

It was ok. I stopped in after a late evening out and it was the only thing open. It was good for that and it had Brooklyn lager in draft so I couldn’t complain too much. The ketchup was horrible it tasted like marinara. Took me a while to get over that

An American style diner at Roppongi Hills that is famous of their burgers. You would think that Roppongi, a neighborhood that is known to be an expat magnet, has the best burger joints in the city. WRONG! It is surprisingly difficult to find good quality burgers in Roppongi. Of course Akasaka is not too far, so you can always take a hike to «Authentic» for some solid American Style burger. Aoyama/Omotesando area is about 20 minute walk from Roppongi. There, you will find great options like«Fellows», «Golden Brown», etc. So what do you do when you really crave for a premium hamburger in Roppongi? Here are the choices: 1. Go to Tokyo Midtown and checkout Baker’s Bounce. Okay quality, but not great. 2. Head to Roti American Bar and Grill. A very good quality burger, although you need to pay restaurant prices. 3. Settle for McDonald’s, Wendy’s, or Burger King. OR Head to Roppongi Hills and eat a burger at AS Classic Diner. WHERE: Roppong Hills Metro Hat Hollywood Plaza B1. If you are coming from HIbiya Line in the basement floor, just walk towards Roppongi hills where you see the giant escalators. It is right there. WHENTOGO: I been there both for lunch and dinner — both experiences were good. For lunch, you can get the lunch combo, which includes a free drink and fries. Drinks are NOT free refill, expect for hot coffee after 1PM. For dinner, I usually go for their non-burger items, which are all pretty good. Their buffalo wings are surprisingly good. I haven’t had a chance to try their steak or roast beef yet. LINE: This is a very popular place. During the lunch rush hour, you will see a line out the door. For dinner, I never see a line, but on two occasions, I could not get a seat because it was full. BURGER: They work hard to re-create the Made in America burger. Buns — A(Perfect) Toppings — A(Love the huge chunks of grilled onions.) Beef — B(Good, but not perfect. I wished the texture was softer) Fries — A(great) ENGLISH: I never spoke to them in English, but it is highly likely they will speak some English. Roppongi HIlls is filled with foreign customers. Menu is in English. COST: LUNCH — 1200 Yen for cheese burger with fries and a drink. DINNER — About 3000 Yen per person. CONCLUSION: A solid option for a tasty burger. I also love the fact that they have Brooklyn Lager on draft. A.S. Classics is a very famous burger shop in Komazawa near Olympic Park. I am so glad that Ower Chef Minakami-san decided to open this branch in Roppongi.
