Starting off, the branding is quite adorable. It’s in the basement of a department store, so its a pretty small space, but when I went it wasn’t crowded, although theres probably some traffic around lunchtime, as the prices are pretty good. You have the option of a burrito, or a burrito bowl. There are 5 flavors and additionally, you choose your toppings as you go. As for the taste… if you can’t tell from the flavor choices, theres very little the final product has to do with tex-mex. I tried the pork and honey mustard. The burrito itself is quite good, but to be honest, it’s a wrap. There was another thing that weighed in a bit into my rating — the salsa. I tried the salsa and chips, and while the chips were crisp and nicely flavored, the salsa was pretty much unseasoned and watery.

A burrito specialty restaurants/takeout shop that opened in Sep 2014. Location: Basement floor of Marunouchi Building. There is nothing wrong with Um Um. It’s semi-delicious. It’s decently filling. Just do not come there expecting authentic burritos. What’s authentic burrito anyways? Mexican? American? UmUm doesn’t hide the fact that their burrito is Japanized version. Their poster explains that they altered the taste and enhanced it for the Japan market. They plan to open I tried their Sloppy Joe burrito. It was good, although a better characterization of their product is «wrapped sandwich.» I was craving for Mexican spices, so their sweet burrito did not fulfill my desire. The taste was more like Japanese meat sauce on a spaghetti. Seating: A small space available for eat-in. Power outlet available. A separate takeout order counter is on the other side. Price: ¥750 for burrito without drinks.
