As far as atmosphere goes, this place is incredible. Sitting atop a hill in San Gigmignano, there is beautiful scenery all around. Do yourself a favor and sit on the patio and take in the sights. The food was pretty good. Our table ordered a multitude of pasta dishes, wild boar dishes, and appetizers. All of the food was fresh and tasty. Washing it down with the house wine wasn’t bad either. The reason why only 3 stars — the service. The wait staff was not particularly nice to us and seemed to be taking their time. Although the food and atmosphere were great, this kind of turned me off. Over all, I would definitely recommend this spot as it may have just been an off service day when we were there!

We’ve been in Italy for a month and this is one of our best meals. Amazing food, better people — just awesome. Mixed bruschetta to start and lasagna were the best we’ve eaten anywhere. Pasta was also fantastic. We ran out of room before we ran out of food!

Lunch for two. Ordered chicken in marsala wine & apple, as well as a mixed salad side. The main is simple(you get a large piece of succulent chicken and stewed apples), but this sauce will definitely have you mopping up with bread. Insalata mista = iceberg+pomodoro+carrot, but fresh and ample. Looking around, the other customers seem to also enjoy their meals. There’s a 1kg Florentine steak that looks and smells inviting, large pizzas italian style(thin and crispy) with liberal garnish, etc. — sadly we do not have the space to sample these other courses. The view from the balcony is partially obscured by foliage and flowers, so isn’t as promising as it sounds — in season, this section will be filled with scent of jasmine. This can be a good or bad thing depending on your allergies. The bathroom is clean.
