Definitiv bestes Diner der Stadt! Geniale Burger mit viel Geschmack und frischem Hackfleisch. Jedes mal wenn ich in Dublin bin muss ich da hin. Zudem ist das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

The worst burger I’ve ever had!
This place is a joke! An omg burger that was cooked to the point of being completely flavourless. No seasoning whatsoever.
The burger tasted like the bottom of a runner.
My friends was much the same. The only thing that was decent was the onion rings.
For 35 euro it’s safe to say I’ll never be back here as long as I’ve got taste buds and common sense.

A nice little American 50s diner styled restaurant. Really try to go for the whole image, complete with the menu, décor and uniforms to match.
Reasonably good and quick service. The food is your regular American fast food and diner items. Drinks menu akin to a malt shop. Great place for kids also.
Relaxed atmosphere and convenient location make it a favorite. Open late which is quite convenient as there aren’t many places in Dublin that are.

I love the diner concept; it makes me hungry, which can only be solved via a dose of burger. I can do gimmicky, and I can even put up with not original at all (ehem!), as long as a burger finds its way to my mouth.
So I got a smokestack meal with bacon corn for takeout (or takeaway, as they say around here). They sure took their sweet time for a «fast”-food joint, but the food around me looked and smelled good enough, so, hey, I could stand to work up my appetite.
The corn was just OK; the name is to be taken literally, as it’s pretty much spiced corn with bacon. Mayo or something would have glued the whole thing together nicely.
The burger was actually pretty good. Their secret sauce is tangy and conspicuously good. The bun was solid and the meat, well, a tad dry but good. For a chain, not bad.
The fries were not memorable by any stretch of the imagination, certainly not reflective of how good American fries can be, but they weren’t offensive.
In all, not too bad. The burger was not an above-​and-​beyond type of job, but I’d eat one again — seeing as this meal set me back € 11.25, though, I’d probably skip the subpar sides.

Quick Dinner — alone in Dublin. Food was good — service was rushed, but good. Certainly a good option in a rush. Americanized to it’s core.

Well I have to admit that I was a little snobbish about this Eddie Rockets… thinking it was a shabbier than all the other ones! Hell was i wrong, it was just as clean, friendly as any of the other diners I’ve been in.
I love the newer menu, ample choice in comparison with the last time I’ve eaten in «empty pockets»…I chose the Super Chicken in a bowl (or something like that). It was a delish salad with roast chicken, tomatoes, onions, peppers and mixed salad. It was the nicest meal i ever got in Eddie Rockets! They even did the candle in the ice-​cream for my sons birthday! Would eat here again.
It is open 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays…

I can’t fault Eddie’s. It does what it says on the tin. A bit on the pricey side, but I think it’s value for money as a treat. Damn that secret sauce! I suspect it’s mustard and mayo but I’ve never been able to reproduce it at home. Eddie’s, still home of great American fast food after all these years.

I love the American 40’s and 50’s, visiting Eddie Rocket’s (not for the first time) is logical. The interior is awesome, the staff has the uniform, but not the style of that era. But that is just a side note. The staff is fast and very friendly. This is not some ordinary fast food, the food will be served at the table. The music range is wide, from the 60’s to the 80’s. The quality of the food is good (Eddie Rocket’s in Cork is closed, the food experience over there was terrible), I had the M50 burger plus sweet potato fries with sweet chilli sauce and a pint of Heineken. A good match. I will certainly come again.

As an American this place cracks me up because we have an almost identical chain called Johnny Rockets – 50’s diner vibe with juke boxes and the lot.
We popped in for a late lunch/​snack and it was packed but we got sat at the bar right away. I opted for cheese fries and a reese cup milkshake and my husband had a chilli cheese dog. The milkshake was AMAZING and they bring you the extra shake in blending cup– yum! The cheese fries are with cheese sauce – I know some people don’t like that but for me it was PERFECTION! I love cheese sauce on cheese fries.
The chilli dog was a huge foot long and my husband ate it all. Our server was really nice and brought me a side of pickles on the house, too!
Quirky but quaint, although I think it’s quite a big chain, I’d definitely recommend popping in if you are a fellow expat looking for a little bit of home or if you are just hungry for some American nostalgia!

Cool place. I went there with a couple of Irish friends who are huge fans and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Nice environment and good food. 1Coming from Finland, where everything is (put your bad word here) expensive 14.5 € for a burguer I couldn’t finish, fries, fanta and a milkshake felt quite good, but I guess it’s a bit over the average of Irish prices.
I’ll definetely visit a Eddie Rockets next time I go to Ireland.

On my first night in Dublin, friends and I were trying to find somewhere to get dinner. To the Unilocal-​mobile, we cried, and donning shoes, set out into the night. First, one restaurant the kitchen had just closed. Next, they hadn’t been serving at all because of the St. Paddy’s celebrations. We walked up back streets and alley, something, anything! Unilocal,don’t let us down!
We ended up giving up on the whole Irish thing, and stopped in to Eddie Rockets, which promised 24 hour food. That was exactly what we were looking for!
The fact that it was an American diner was exciting, and we tucked in to club sandwiches, french fries, and milkshakes. The service wasn’t the best I’ve had, but the food was a fair attempt at authentic. We were able to be seated right away and the prices weren’t out of hand. It fed us, and provided a good topic of conversation over future days as we said, well if we can’t find anything open, we can always go back to Eddie Rockets! There wasn’t anything mind blowing, but it wasn’t bad either. All in all, exactly what the doctor ordered when its 10:30pm and you’re a hungry group of gals.

I really enjoyed the fresh made burgers and my half and half mug of onion rings and chips. The milk shakes are simply delicious. The staff could be more friendly and looks a bit disappointed with their job though.

The ambiance is fun here, it’s a rock n’roll 50’s style diner which is pretty cool to see in Ireland.
The food is okay. The burger was one of the better burgers I’ve had in Ireland and the chips weren’t bad. The chicken wings were tasty but pretty average (or at least to my American palate they were). The brownie sundae was incredible, I’d go back just for that mouth orgasm alone. They are very pricey for what you get.
They have a really odd rule that I’ve never encountered in any restaurant. There’s a 10% upcharge for food ordered after midnight with the reason being that it costs extra to prepare your food then which makes absolutely no sense as the staff are there anyways and I doubt they are being paid 10% less when they aren’t on the grill or serving your food. Seems like a total racket and I’m perplexed as to whether this is a way to discourage customers from dining there after midnight? Really strange business practice.
Lastly, American diners have homemade cherry cola and I couldn’t get that here. Oh, the humanity!

Living in that burger wasteland known as «Deutschland», I was thrilled to pieces to get a decent burger at Eddie Rocket’s during my weeklong vacation in Dublin. Decent burgers, good fries, creamy shakes, friendly & timely service, authentic diner décor, and open all night — WINNING.
But hey, I’m still American, and my burger standard is still pretty high. Eddie, you gotta step up your game, son. It ain’t bad, but it ain’t tops, and I think you got what it takes to bump it up. And put some heat in your spice! If it’s meant to be spicy, make it burn! «The Atomic» wasn’t even steam-​powered, in my opinion.
Also, it took a couple tries to get the WiFi to work for me, but I think that was because the waitress was so cryptic in telling me the password. Just write it out in plainly legible penmanship, please? I promise not to sell the secret to the Russians, or whoever it is we keep secrets from now.
I dig this place, and I recommend it, especially for post-​pub gluttony. Most people would probably give it a higher ranking than I, but having tasted burgery highway diner goodness on multiple cross-​America roadtrips, I just can’t. Still, it’s an authentic experience and I’ll come here again the next time I’m prowling the area at 2AM in a whiskey-​induced feeding frenzy.

Take it from this American who’s spent plenty of time in the classic Jersey east-​coast diners, Eddie Rockets does a good job at their take on the American Diner. Complete with stainless steel grill area and 50s rock and roll sock hop diner vibe, they pull off the look. Food wise, it’s ok. Here in Europe it’s hard to get that classic taste of greasy burgers and coke. It just doesn’t exist here. Note to cook: lettuce and tomatoes go on top not bottom of burger but the fries rock. Service kinda sucks though. I want more gum chewing and more chatty waitresses. No smiles here which seem to be consistent among all the ERs in Dublin. Need more «how ya doin’s» and «hey sweetie, what’ll it be’s»

I will point out straight away that I have had better service in here before (a few years ago) and that Eddie Rockets are a franchise.
Now that that is out of the way — I’m never coming in here again.
I, alone, walked up to queue behind two people. The lady (?) brought them down to a table and came back only to ask the couple behind me in the queue if they wanted a table or counter. Totally looking past me as if I wasn’t there. SHE had brought the people in front of me away and should have seen I was next. The security guy could see I was shocked and said something to the next passing waitress and she asked me if I wanted a table or counter. I asked for a table I had picked out and that was fine.
Now to the food. I know what type of food they do, I have been in the Parnell street branch a few times lately. But to be served with 2 bits of chicken no longer than my thumb, which had very little breading left on them, and for them to call them ‘Tenders’ is a joke. Think I’m joking? Pic —
This is not somewhere I would recommend. If you like Eddie’s go to Parnell St.

Being a fan of independent businesses more than chain restaurants, it takes a lot for a franchise to grab my attention. But I just loved Eddie Rockets.
Decked out like an old 50s diner, you’d expect to see something like Eddie’s just off the freeway in America in 1955. With old roadsigns littering the walls, formica tables, red leather seats and jukeboxes on display, it’s a rock and roll dream of a themed restaurant. And its food ain’t too shabby, either.
Absolutely had to go for a Rocket’s before I left Dublin. With a good selection of meat and veggie burgers, it was hard to make up my mind, but I eventually went for the burger with bacon and pineapple on top and some spicy chips (I’m getting hungry just typing this shizz up).
Absolutely hoovered my burger and loved every minute of it. The service was great, the waitresses looked amazing, I loved the fact you can see into their kitchen area and they were playing old tunes like the Big Bopper. Usually franchises are fairly tacky, with an overkill of fake history (see Frankie and Benny’s) but Eddie’s did not disappoint. My only complaint is that there are none in the UK, meaning that I’ll have to swing by Dublin any time I want a top qualirty burger fest!

There ain’t no finer diner is the catch line, but they obviously haven’t seen Luke’s Place on the Gilmore Girls. In saying that, however, Eddie’s is pretty good. The menu is extensive and the food is tasty stuff — towering burgers, skinny fries and truly outstanding milkshakes. The latter arrive at the table in two glasses — one for pouring and one for drinking out of — which makes it easier to steal from your companion.
This particular branch is very popular, particularly with teens out on dates, so be prepared: you may have to suffer the ignominy of queuing for a booth.

A handy spot for predictable food at random hours in town. In fairness there certainly is finer dining in the city, but Sir Edmund of Rocket has cornered the market in Dublin for a reasonable quality burgers etc. It’s pretty much a crowd pleaser… few people object strenuously to Eddies. It’s probably a bit too pricey for what you get, although they certainly do good burgers. 5 euro is a bit steep for a bowl of chips.
This particular franchise is a reasonably good one and is generally busy enough, particularly in the evening or post-​late night shopping. It’s a real handy spot to meet people coming from different areas of the city centre. And I have to put in a good word for the Oreo Malts and the Smarties sundae… could I have one now please?

Enough will have been written about Eddie Rockets at this stage for people to be largely au fait with the concept: a fifties style American diner in the settings of present-​day Dublin, alright? So let’s move on…
What’s different about the Eddie Rockets on O’Connell St is that you are no longer in the amongst the typical Eddie Rockets’ clientele, namely, posh southside teenagers.
I was in the O’Connell St branch recently, content with my chili-​fries, when I remarked to a friend of mine how many builders were present. The entire length of the counter was occupied by men in hi-​vis jackets.
My friend who, for his sins, has worked in an Eddie Rockets, informed me that actually Eddie Rockets was very popular among builders, and that they always come in for their fry in the morning.
Now, I can only speak personally about the lunch/​dinner fare served by Eddie Rockets, which is quite good, though fairly expensive for a fast-​food restaurant, but if builders get their breakfast there you can be guaranteed that Eddies do a decent fry-​up.
Builders eat more cooked breakfasts and their derivatives (breakfast rolls) than any other demographic in the country, so if Eddie Rockets’ breakfasts have their endorsement, then they are good enough for me.
So if you’re ever in town with a tongue like a shag-​carpet on ya, head into Eddies and they’ll set you right.

The Sincerest Form of Flattery:
I passed by this place all week while visiting Ireland. Just before heading to the airport to catch my plane back to the US, I decided to stop in for a bite. Irish stew is good but I was feeling a little burned out & wanted a piece of (my) home before committing myself to a day of airline food.
I walk in, grab a booth, and placed my order: cheeseburger (no mayo), fries, and a root beer. Looking around the place made me smile because it *looks* just like a «Johnny Rockets.» Black & white checker floor, red booths, dinette seating, stainless accents, complete with jukeboxes at each table.
«Wow! I hope they spent as much time mimicking the food,» I thought.
I wasn’t disappointed. Eddie put together a nice joint with good grub.
I’m glad I stopped in.
One complaint: dining here is more expensive than the typical sit-​in restaurant in Dublin. Adding one slice of cheese to my burger bumped it up 1 euro. Same goes for «Supermac’s» … what’s up with that? Shouldn’t fast food be less expensive?
Now, here I sit back in the states… craving Irish stew. I guess I’ll have re-​visit soon.
