It was a shame to see this place close as they had the best pulled pork sandwiches in Dublin and possibly the world Other delectable delights included their steak and philly sandwiches and the chocolate brownies The icing on the cake were the sweets and smiling staff Had tasted their delights previously firm when they ran the kiosk down by the quays Wish the guys the beat of luck with their next venture

Saved by the sandwich board! I was walking around on a rainy Dublin afternoon looking for a place to eat where I could also kill a good amount of time. I had earmarked another place based on some good Unilocal reviews, but then I ran into the Dux & Co signboard promising me a friendly local spot to grab a delicious bite and well. I bit. Located right on the waterfront, Dux is an amazing place to people watch and while away your rainy day. They had just opened when I walked in, so I was the only person in the wonderfully decorated room(think cozy Irish tea parlour with a modern/American-rustic twist). The service was friendly and extremely accommodating. When I asked what they recommended my waiter readily suggested the pulled pork and arugula sandwich(see my photo of its gloriousness), which wouldn’t be my first choice, but boy was I pleased! The sandwich was huge, especially as European dining goes, delicious, and affordable to boot. I paired it with one of the best lattes I had while in Ireland and enjoyed a long sit, never feeling rushed or like I was lounging about too long. Wonderful experience, recommend for locals but even moreso for tourists, who will find the kind staff, comfortable surroundings, and affordable/ample menu options a refreshing break from the Temple Bar scene.

Came here looking for something sandwich-like for a late lunch. Searching for a café-ish place on a Sunday after 16:00 isn’t the easiest, but thankfully Dux & Co were open! The interior is absolutely darling! Old style, DIY flair, I felt right at home. They serve breakfast, but since I came in pretty late they were only serving soup and sandwiches, jackpot! I had the pulled pork sandwich(I can’t get enough of it) on ciabatta bread. The sandwich was huge and the bread was more like a natural tasting sponge cake, delish! The pork had lots of great flavor and the first couple of bits were nice and juicy. Towards the end the pork got a bit dry and all the yummy juices were absorbed in the bread. The sweet potato fries with the garlic mayo– outstanding. I could eat those every. single. day… just beware of the haunting garlic breath after. Order the iced tea– you will not be disappointed. I am going to have to try the breakfast next time!

Love. This. Place. Brought the beau here for a date night, based on the review by Miss Emily(I did let her know a lot was riding on it!) and was not disappointed! Great menu with varied choices for all discerning tastes(ok maybe not the vegan) and very reasonably priced, given their location. Food was great — not the usual grub but also not too out of this world — I had the chilli poppers, which definitely had a kick to it and the crab gratin for my main which was sooo good. Good food + friendly staff + quirky atmosphere + BYOB = Happy Timmy + Mikey \o/(that’s me hands up in the air)

I honestly must say that this was one of the best meals I have ever had. Anywhere. Full stop. The menu is smallish but all meat, fish and veg lovers will find something. I chose the butternut tomato gratin… I was speechless. so good… We also ordered a bottle of French red wine which then accompanied my cheese plater which I had for dessert perfectly. And oh boy, what a cheese plate that was. Again, I was speechless. What i liked most: no tourists around! We felt like locals, we were treated like them, too. This is a perfect spot for all those, who appreciate good, urban food, like to merge with the locals and experience a «normal”-non touristy night out. Also: prices are totally reasonable! If I lived in Dublin, this would be MY favourite restaurant, ever!

My friend and I were looking for Brunch and we found it at Dux & Co! I got the drop scone pancakes. Be warned, they are not enough their own, and as small as they are I think € 7 is a bit much for them. I got them with Lemon and Sugar, and they were pretty tasty though! I liked the place enough that I did actually return another day, and had the pulled pork sandwich. Also very delicious. The décor is beautiful, and the staff very friendly. I would definitely return when next I am in Dublin!

Went here for a long overdue catch up with some friends last week. We’d booked in advance and our table was ready for us. They immediately offered to chill the wine we had brought and left us to contemplate the menu. I’m not the best on three courses, I tend to feel uncomfortably full instead of happy full if I go for it, so I decided to skip a starter in favour of one of the delicious sounding desserts. One of the group did get the breads and dips and I had to try them. The bread was delicious, and warm when it came out… yum! The black olive tapenade and the red pepper tahini were particularly tasty. Another in our group got a sharing plate of cheesy chilli poppers, pan fried halloumi with lime and chilli and patatas bravas for her main. She’s vegetarian and was very happy with her selection. I got the chicken escalope marinated in black pepper and garlic with the white bean mash and green beans. It was nicely seasoned and the mash was fantastic. Could have done with maybe a few more green beans, but they are one of my favourite veg. For dessert I got the Key Lime mess. Delicious and tart.
The others in my group were equally happy with their mains and dessert and we didn’t feel rushed at all. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Would definitely go back.

After an early morning flight from London to Dublin, and a bit of time swept up in the hustle and bustle surrounding the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, my friend and I stopped in to Dux & Co for a late lunch. We picked it in part inspired by the good Unilocal reviews we found, as well as the great location on the edge of Temple Bar and just across the Ha’penny Bridge from where we were staying. I decided to get right into my Irish experience with a bit of Irish Stew, which was absolutely fabulous. I was also first introduced to the amazing fact that the Irish love sweet potato fries way more than English people do, and decided to order a side of those as well. As was to become the norm during my trip to Ireland, I ate and ate and didn’t want to stop eating, even though I was so full: the food was that delicious. The stew was piping hot and served with a great side of colcannon and a lovely biscuit. It was all very fresh, flavorful, and the beef in the stew was so tender and tasty. The sweet potato fries were crispy without being overcooked. All around, like I said, it was fantastic food. The ambiance is so cute and quaint, a bit tea shop and a bit of comfy country kitchen. The tables are all wooden and the cups and plates are all reminiscent of the kind of grandma’s kitchen we all wish our grandma had. Our server was friendly and helpful, and the meal was nice – for a long time, we were the only ones eating, despite the weirdness of our lunchtiming. Dux & Co was a great start to what ended up being a wonderful week of eating and drinking on the Emerald Isle. I definitely recommend a stop in for a nice bite to eat as you stroll along the river.

Went here recently for a bite to eat, despite being in Temple Bar, it’s not a tourist trap. The food is good, the prices are reasonable. The ambience is nice.
