The Harbourview

Location is not too bad, it’s about 5 – 10 minutes walk from Wan Chai station. But it’s also close to the Wan Chai Ferry Pier so you also have direct access to one of the cheapest ways to cross the harbour. Also this place is close to the convention centre too.
It’s also close to the main strip on Lockhart Rd which is another spot for bars (or strip clubs if thats your thing! I won’t judge you.).
The rooms have nice views of the harbour (I guess thats why they call it Harbourview).

I chose this hotel due to the close proximity to Central (shopping, restaurants, night life, transit, attractions). Keep in mind that you will have to walk 10 – 15 minutes to get to shopping, Lan Kwai Fong, etc.
The price was slightly less than larger chain hotels nearby and I found it to be comfortable for one nights stay. Yes, rooms are small but the bed was the most comfortable I had during my 2 week stay in Asia. Still Chinese firm, but after a long day site seeing in HK, you probably wont care.
Breakfast is not complimentary, but the restaurant offers tons of selections, all buffet style. I’m not sure how much breakfast was, but upon checkout, breakfast and one beer from the mini bar cost me $ 27 usd. A little pricey
Service was superb and everyone in the lobby was extremely helpful. They offer currency exchange in house and will watch your bags after checkout if you have a late flight.
One thing this hotel is lacking is a bar /​lounge. As a solo traveler it would have been nice to relax in the hotel with other patrons, but instead I got cozy in my room with the minibar and BBC news.
All in all, I definitely recommend this hotel. If you are in Hong Kong for just a few days, or its your fist visit, It’s probably best to stay in or near Central — just to get the most out of your visit. Yes, you will pay a little more, but it’s nice to wake up and be right there, center of all the action. On my next visit I will probably stay a little further out and pay less. Once you get a feel for the area, public transit is a breeze and very efficient.
