Maybe it was because I tried the lunch buffet, but I thought the quality of food at this place is pretty average. The décor was OK, a kind of typical American restaurant setting. The seafood had seafood flavour, but could not find any seafood inside the soup. So not sure how it was cooked. Moreover, it was half a bowl! The raw oysters came at HKD75 extra for three. it was good and fresh. The buffet itself and the chocolate cake were OK but nothing particularly noteworthy. But at $ 168 per person, not too much complaints.

This review is strictly for the lunch at Bloom(5th floor). One of the best deals in HK. The lunch Bazaar(which includes salads, antipasto, fried hick, a carving station, beef stew, fresh seafood, and a mac n’ cheese station!), soup, tea/coffee and dessert for only 168hkd! Or for 298, you get all that PLUS2 shrimp cocktail and a main dish(Wagyu burger is an additional 60) — three course set. I always want to get the 3 course set, but I know I can never get to the main after a few rounds at the Bazaar buffet(fried chicken is insanely good). I went for a work lunch this week and we all simply rolled ourselves back down LKF to the office we were so full. The service is also top notch, probably some of the best I’ve experience in HK. As just one example, I don’t think my water glass ever got even close to the half way mark before it was refilled again and the restaurant was pretty much full too!

This was definitely the food and drink highlight of my brief trip to HK. I chose to take my colleagues here because it has always been a favorite place of mine(and in fact I visited twice this trip)! What I love about this place: THEDECOR /AMBIANCE — this is the kind of place I have no problem going to with a group and grabbing a drink during happy hour, sticking around for dinner and then heading back into the bar for after dinner drinks and usually a great DJ. The décor is right up my alley, featuring cool light fixtures, stone, reclaimed wood, wrought iron and dim lighting. I am modelling the lounge in my own home after The bar here. THEFOOD — because we were having drinks in the lounge and not wanting to go into the formal restaurant, we ordered a number of items to share, including the pulled short rib sliders, mushroom quesadillas, calamari, soft shell crab po’boy and fresh cut fries. Though we didn’t get into the depth of the dining room menu, what we ordered was excellent! THEDRINKS — we tried most of them… of course. Favorites were the Madhatter’s Tea, Prohibition Tea, Lavendar Buzz, English Ambassador… and for one of us Malibu and Diet Coke!!! THEDJ — the last set of the night was awesome… straight up East NYC meets 90s «Top 40» rap. Think Group Home, BIG remixed over different beats and LL Cool J all in one set. Can’t underemphasize how much this added to the experience!

My hunch from my previous review was correct. I came back to Lily & Bloom. Again. And again. And again. And every time I return, I love it more and more. I haven’t yet been back to try the food since my lukewarm brunch experience(see previous review), but I have been back late at night to go dancing, catch up with friends, and enjoy the amazing cocktails. I love the vibe and the cocktail menu is well-thought-out, creative, conceptual(check out the website for an extensive description of the Lily & Bloom prohibition-era-inspired concept), and DELICIOUS. Upstairs on the 6th floor is known as Lily. Downstairs on the 5th floor is known as Bloom. The cocktail menus are different for each floor, so it’s worth checking out both levels to get a full sense of the different offerings(both in terms of libations and vibes). During the day and earlier evening hours, if you want to come for a meal, you go to Bloom. After dinner service ends, Bloom morphs into the«Bloom Bloom Room,» transforming from a restaurant feel into a fancy cocktail bar with a DJ and dancing. I will come back for dinner or brunch at some point(and not right at the end of service, like I made the mistake of doing last time) and will add to this review when I do.

Hands down the best brunch decision of my life. For $ 15HKD you can have all you can drink bloody marys and mimosas(and you can switch!) but the highlight for me was the food food food! Think of every food you’ve always wanted for brunch — or didn’t even know you wanted for brunch and… it’s here. To begin you grab a plate and eat all the cheese, salmon, cured meats you desire and then the food service starts — from zucchini and cheese, to spaghetti bolonaise, to caesar salad — one dish comes after the other and you can have all to your hearts content… oh and eggs and an omelette etc. if you want that too. I’m still shocked a place like this can exist as I thought it was only ever available in my dreams. And the quality and service — also sensational. Don’t miss if you’re in HK and especially LFK.

You may have seen restaurants in LKF Hotel come and go, but Lily & Bloom stays on, for good reasons. LKF Hotel is the connection point of the actual LKF, and Wyndham Street then Soho. Probably one of the most overly busy hotels in Hong Kong, the restaurants and bars here are surprisingly classy. Lily & Bloom has been around for some years now, where Lily is more for drinking and Bloom is more for dining. You probably don’t remember when you are there, but luckily they have stairs connecting two levels anyway. The décor and atmosphere are great. Wooden tables, dim lighting, everything was done right and never gets old. I have been here mostly for drinks, but I have also tried their buffet lunch, dinner, cigars, Taco Tuesday(from originally Socialito), happy hours, after party… or any combination of them(well maybe not lunch + dinner…). They were all top notch and I had not a single complains. If anything, paying with credit cards used to take ages — especially when the bar was busy. But that has been fixed at least from the experience I had last week. Mind you, this place gets busy almost every night(even on Monday). And also, you probably want to dress up properly to fit in to the environment. I know some people hate dressing up, so Lily & Bloom may not be their favorite. If you can deal with that, you may have a chance to run into Daniel Wu sometimes. At least I did, twice!

This spot? Absolutely boss digs. Their happy hour deal? NOSENSEMADE. It’s amazing. You have to check it out for yourself. I happened to come here with the HKCM Kevin, who is quite the cool dude. Concoctions on par with a speakeasy spot. Atmosphere amazing. It was packed for a Monday night. Crazy. I’d go back sans HH. Great spot solo, with friends, or in one-on-one interactions. Cool concept, cool space.

Another pride of the Buzz group. Lily is for drinks downstair and Bloom serves food 360 degree. Vintage deco with classic ambience. Lily resembles their female guests with little black dress in a red pump and guys in a bow tie for the groom. Sorry, mind my personal interpretation. The place is chic and feels more than relax. I sometimes go on weekdays after work and it feels like hanging out in Paris that you were pulled out from your little hole in Hong Kong. Have not tried the food there yet. But drinks are alright. I try very hard not to waste my $ on the wine here. They know how to handle cocktail here.

Lily and Bloom are interconnected establishments; Lily is where you drink and Bloom is where you eat. By drink, I meant alcohol. Bloom is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in HK due to its décor and attractive balance between quality and price. As with all popular restaurants, it tends to get packed, especially with it’s «first come, first serve» policy. The best time to visit, if you’re trying to impress a special somebody, is on a Monday-Thursday night. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, go for the Saturday dinner slot. The dinner menu is split in 7 categories: the raw bar, appetizers, mains, veggies, cocktails, beers, and sweets aka dessert. For the appetizers, nothing beats the charcuterie tasting. The palacios chorizo was very flavorful due to its smoked paprika — it beats any other chorizo by a long shot. If you have ever tasted commercial chorizo before, wipe that taste from your mental mouth, because this is what real chorizo tastes like. The finocchiona was firm, with the fennel seeds making it sweet. After a meaty start, we decided to get the seafood platter as our main, primarily because it had the softshell crab(which is to die for). I really can’t resist it. It certainly did not disappoint, the delicate and buttery beurre blanc complements the tender meat of the lobster and the king prawn. We added a vegetable dish, the roasted maitake mushrooms, which tasted slightly smoky and tangy due to the inclusion of sherry. Having dinner at Bloom is always a delightful evening, knowing that what you pay for really has the quality to back up its price. Dinner begins from 6 in the evening until 11 and Bloom is also available for lunch during the weekdays and brunch on the weekend. If I lived close by, I would have had tried to do brunch there by now. Alas, I come only for the dinner menu, to which I am already content.
