i come here often for lunch sets. Its fairly traditional Korean but not local by any means. It has that modern fusion decoration and flare.

This is a modern looking Korean restaurant. The food quality is decent. We went at lunch time and they have lunch set. I ordered the barbecue beef set. The portion is good size but the beef was slightly on tough side. The service was also slightly inattentive on this visit. Could have been a 4-star place for me, but something was amiss in this visit.

Have been here for their lunch sets twice. Overall, the food is pretty tasty, but the 120 – 200 price range(most items around 150) for a lunch set is a bit high. I had the stir-fried vermicelli and spicy pork(japchae) which was a massive plate of noodles, veggies, and slices of spicy pork. I was pleased with the dish — especially the portion size — but still thought the price was higher than most lunch sets in Central. Was not expecting, but was nicely surprised with the piece of mango mochi that came at the end of the meal! That pushed my 3.5 stars up to 4 :)

Craving Korean food and not having a lot of time, I decided to give Jang a go. The service and décor was quite nice, however the food is honestly just subpar and overpriced. The banchans were lacking any type of zing and inspiration, while the Scallop Salad we ordered was also just subpar. The actual dressing was very good, however the scallops were a bit rubbery without a proper sear, which made it not great. Also ordered was the Kim Bap«Jang Roll», which was the best dish of the day, but it comes at a steep price of $ 128. The Kalbijjim was tasty and very tender, but unfortunately it was super sweet with a hint of cinnamon. It tasted like dessert to me. The Dwengjangchigae was also a bit water downed in taste. The worst dish of all was the seafood pancake, which was on a special of $ 38. Raw dough tasting and an overall turn off. Total bill? $ 400 per person. Let’s just say the next time I have a craving for Korean food, I will trek over to TST. Thanks but no thanks, Jang.
