Not the best I ever had. 18:00 hrs on a very crowded summer street night and I was the only customer on the street terrace. The restaurant was completely empty except for one table on the back terrace inside. I thought that was a bit strange. I thought the interior looked nice and trendy yes, but it irritates me when the waitress doesn’t speak 3 words Dutch but tries to and misses all the time. It took a very long time before I could order, now with a stiff and moody Dutch girl. What’s with your hospitality! When dining solo you still have to order a whole maki roll of 8 pieces or choose for a chefs combo where you don’t know what you get. «We’re not all you can eat». No, that’s why I’m here. The girl advised the hand rolls that would contain«less rice than everywhere else» but were loaded with rice. The moment I picked up a nigiri the moody girl came to correct me, ok she gave me the tip to start with the hand rolls because they were still crispy but I felt corrected by her tone. Then the hand rolls weren’t crispy at all. The seaweed was tough as leather. The taste of the nigiri and hand rolls was good, but nothing special. Then I had the sesame chicken wings. They were soft and juicy but over loaded with the frying fat, this much that I felt nauseous the rest of the evening. 2 hand rolls, 2 pieces of nigiri, 3 chicken wings, 1 miso soup and a water for 22 euros. All in all not the best experience I ever had. First and last time Umi for me.
