Döner Kebab House Rembrandt

I thought this place was delicious, good quick and fast food. Got the beef sandwich, felt more like a torta, and you can pick your veggies and sauces for it. With fries and a canned soda, it was about 6 euros. Interesting how they shave off the meat. Good hearty meal that is quick and easy.

On the first day of our trip to Amsterdam, we stopped by this place, not knowing anything about it. And we were instantly addicted. My husband is from the Middle East, and he says that the chicken shwarma is very close to how it tastes back home. We went there 5 times over a 4-​day trip. We had the «shwarma» sandwich, which is sauteed ground lamb on a hamburger bun with garlic sauce and veggies. It was extremely good, but FYI, not what we would call shwarma in the US. What we usually got was the chicken, which you can see rotating on a spit. If you want this, just order «chicken», not «chicken shwarma,» because the chicken and the shwarma are considered to different things here. Anyway, the chicken sandwich on pita bread with garlic sauce and veggies is outstanding, as is the «chicken box», which is chicken, french fries, and veggies in a box with garlic sauce. I wish we had this place at home. I’m still thinking about how good it was!
