Levant

Simply incredibly good Turkish food, in a super pleasant space, with a wonderful waiter. I dined here on Christmas Eve and was blown away. Highly recommend the braised lamb, eel starter, and lemon pie. (The music here is also awesme.)

This was restaurant was suggested to me as a good Turkish restaurant. How wrong they were. This is not a good Turkish restaurant at all on the contrary its probably one of the best ones in town.
Food wise its an experience you must try. I love the meze experience where they bring the tray out with all the meze and you pick as they explain to you what each dish is. the Main courses are also excellent. I had the beef/​lamp burgers with rice or pilaf as it is called in Turkish and it was mind blowing. The wine list was also pretty interesting. we wanted to try the Turkish wines and i was surprised of the quality and taste of the wine.
It was worth to mention that they have an area outside the restaurant on the back next to the canal where you can have your dinner and watch the boats going by. Pretty cute and romantic. Not a lot of people know about it and you cannot see it from outside so i would suggest to ask them to sit there… Should the weather permits that.
Finally i don’t want to forget the amazing service we had and how helpful the staff was.

My friend and I had a wonderful meal at Levant. It’s situated in a beautiful canal house with high ceilings. Initially, my friend was thrown off by the giant cat roaming the dinging room, but I explained to her that in Amsterdam, a cat in a restaurant is a good sign. From the moment we walked in, the staff was attentive and offered us advice on their selection of Turkish wines. Next they brought a huge tray of appetizers. The waiter explained what each one was and we chose a few. The sardines were seasoned really well with a nice hint of dill and the hummus was very flavorful. We were both pleased with our main courses: lamb shoulder and sea bass. Based on the combination of attentive service, excellent food and ambiance, I would definitely go back to Levant.

Most likely the best turkish restaurant in Amsterdam. Also, it is one of few that would be able, with the same quality, to do business in Turkey too.
