We grabbed the last table by the door, which was perfect for watching the street roll by in the rain. They did have an outdoor area that smokers huddled in on occasion, and it looked like it would’ve been a decent place to sit outside. Bierfabriek had an entire BBQ chicken on the menu the day we were there. They were on the rotisserie for 24-hours, and it was a great meal if you walked in hungry.(Size is relative to your usual experiences, so I personally thought the ‘whole chicken’ was on the smaller side, as in the USA one would not order a whole chicken on a plate for themselves and expect to finish it! This was definitely the perfect sized good meal for one.) Apparently they offer this regularly, and have a great setup that you can walk by a window to the kitchen and see all these chickens rotating on the spit. Very cool. They had complimentary peanuts that you shelled, and threw your remains on the floor. For as busy as it was, and as drunk as many of the patrons seemed, their bathrooms were very clean. Hooray! Waitstaff was very nice. Some tables offered a keg and tap setup with two beers at your fingertips, which seems an efficient choice if you’re there to drink heavily. Their beer list was short, but good. Definitely worth a quick trip to request a flight to try their brews(or hunker down on a rainy night.) I felt the experience was more like a regular restaurant that made it’s own beer instead of a brewery. If you are looking for a beer-lover’s experience I would pop in early, and plan move on to other options.

Craft beers are awesome! The place is big, but it gets packed quite early in the day. I haven’t try the food but it was looking and smelling tasty, so I would definitely try this for a dinner if I were hungry. Peanuts are good enough as well. As an apéritif for the beer ;)

This place is something unforgettable !!! Beer is great, food is great, people of any age(not only 25 or younger like someone said) and everyone is happy to be here. You can compare it to Munich“s Oktoberfest, but it is much smaller, but food variety is larger and testier.

The chicken here is unbelievable. I have never had anything like it. The fries are also amazing and so crispy. The chicken is fall off the bone tender yet has a smoky flavor from being grilled. Chicken is mostly dark meat but that didn’t bother me at all. We had the Pilsner beer and it was good– golden. The best part of the experience? The bbq sauce is perfect. One is spicy and the other a touch sweet but balanced with vinegar. I would purchase it or steal it to bring back to Florida if I could. Service is slow but whatever.

Sitting in a booth with your own tap, how much closer to beer heaven can you get? The beer hits the spot on a hot Amsterdam afternoon. The peanuts are fun. Their chicken and fries are good. My family and I loved the place.

Drawn-in by chalkboard signs advertising craft beer. Place has a cool/unique vibe. Front section has taps on the table. Free shelled peanuts for all! Food: Ordered beer flight(off-the-menu, but requested waitress) and fried Dutch snacks(ex. bitterballen). Red beer(russo) was my favorite. Whole BBQ chicken(12 euros) came with a ton of fries and was a great value — could easily be shared by 2. Service: Waitress was friendly, but service was a bit slow. Didn’t get any service for first 10 – 15 minutes. She earned a star back for helping me charge my dying iPhone! Bottom Line: Cool concept and relaxed environment. Split a chicken and order some beers!

Don’t go here if you are over 30. Or 25. Or if you like posh beer. Do go here if you are in for a cheap beer, don’t want much to choose from and are in it to get drunk. Pissed. People seems to enjoy the food here, I did not try it so review only for drinking. It has two cool feature and very friendly and helpful staff. 1) Free peanuts for everyone(the kind Goofy eats) — shells all over the floor 2) Manual DIY refilling at tables and pay for the amount you drink.

Great place if you enjoy good beer. It’s a great venue for hanging with friends or maybe a party with a group. Don’t worry if you make a mess because they encourage it — you can throw the shells of the bar nuts on the floor. I just love it here.

Delicious chicken and sauces were so good. Reasonably priced and conveniently located just a few minutes walk from dam square. Beer was super cheap and brewed on site

We went for an afternoon beer and snack. The beer was good. Seemed like a local happy hour joint, which was cool. We tried the bitteballen(fried sausage gravy balls?) which is apparently a local favorite appetizer, and while it was interesting, I don’t think either of us liked it much.

They don’t know it, but this place has accomplished something quite amazing: they made me actually like a beer place! yay! At the Bierfabriek, you walk in and you wonder when was the last time they actually swiped the floors, as they are covered with peanut shells. They you realize this is part of the charm of this place and you start eating peanuts like crazy and throwing the shells on the food just like everybody else. Then if you’re lucky, you’re sitting at the one of the tables where you get to tab your own beer and because it’s fun, you start pouring beer even though you don’t really like beer. And that’s when the miracle occurs: this beer actually tastes nice!!! They have three beers: Puur(a blond beer), Rosso(a red ale beer, my personal favorite) and Nero(a dark beer). They also do food: small bites(the traditional bitterballen are nice) and their signature dish, roasted chicken, which has been marinated for 24 hours and is truly delicious. They also have a few other dishes that change daily. Overall this place has a nice wibe, good easy-going friendly atmosphere. Perfect to catch up with friends around borrel or dinner!

I used to love this place. Their products(own brewed beer and somewhat famous bbq farm chicken) were always a treat. This does not make up for their execrable customer service. My experience: I went out with a couple of my friends one afternoon for some drinks. We sat down at the first table with no «Reserved» sign on it and drank a couple of rounds of beer and what do you know: we got hungry. Ordered a bbq chicken, when the waitress comes back to us saying: «We’re sorry but I can’t let you order food since this table is reserved in 10 minutes and you need to leave». You can imagine that this came to our surprise since we just had a fresh round of beers on our table. After our options were presented: «Move to the bar and ask the table manager if we could be seated again», we asked to speak to this manager. She came over and explained how because we were not eating anything they presumed that we would not stay more than 2 hours. Frankly an apology that they mixed things up was enough for us to leave but she was seemingly shocked how we don’t understand that this is normal. I understand the fact that they are located in an area where they get enough tourists to not care about having customers, but this was too much in my book.

When we went there on a Friday night the place was pretty crowded. First they told us, that we would have to wait for a table for more than 1 hour. So we went to eat somewhere else and came back later. Then they told us that we will have to wait another 30 minutes to be seated. We waited at the bar and started trying their own brewed beer. Of the three they make(puur, Rossi, Nero) I recommend the puur. It is a good beer but not the best I drank so far. The atmosphere here is very unique and it is quite fun to enjoy some beers here. The chicken all the other people were eating also looked and smelled great. We just shared a bread. Make sure to ask for their homemade sauce when you also order the bread. It is a great dip for it. If you want to have some fun and enjoy a special beer bar go there. It is definitely not a mistake. But it is more kind of a tourist thing I guess. But as I wrote still fun.

This restaurant bar is much bigger than it appears from the outside or at least it seemed that way. I entered from the front off Rokin. The person up front said the tables they’d reserved for us were on the other side. Indeed they were. It seemed a distance. Maybe because it seemed dark and it was still daylight outside. Regardless, it seemed they had a somewhat limited menu which on the one hand doesn’t give you much choice but does enable them to put out mass quanties if they needed to. The main entrée was the grilled range chicken. It’s a somewhat simple presentation with a small whole chicken on a plate with a few garnishes. The chicken was really quite tasty. We also got fries with the chicken. There were three main choices of beer on tap, a white beer, a red beer and a dark porter. I had the dark porter. I liked it a lot. It wasn’t heavy nor bitter but had a really nice flavor and was quite smooth and easy to drink, really easy. One very interesting feature was the piles of peanuts on the table ready for shelling and eating while drinking your beer without a care for where the shells fell, on the table or floor. No matter. It was Interesting and kind of fun. No I didn’t fling shells across the room nor think of doing that. I did eat a lot of peanuts though. As the night progressed it got louder probably due to the fact that there were so many people in there now. Later though as the crowd thinned it still seemed loutd. Like the music went up to compensate for less people. One last thing. They are dog friendly!!!

If you just go for peanuts and chicken, you’d be going for the right reasons. Yeah, the chicken is a little on the pricey side, but you might want to split it with a friend, lest you get sodium overload. Still hungry? Fill up on unlimited peanuts! Skip the bread — it’s lame and pricey. Two important points about the chicken: 1. It’s marinaded in their beer. 2. It’s cooked over coals. Both add intense flavor to the little things that can be found at few other places. Bonus, the chicken comes with three decent sauces(the red pepper one is awesome), and you can substitute delicious potato wedges for the fries.

Crunch crunch… Oh… there are peanut shells on the floor. Crunch crunch… oops I sat on some shells. Hopefully the shells have been sterilized… Crunch crunch… I can’t stop eating these peanuts! But that’s ok because the menu is pretty small and I’m not digging the beer too much. Curnch crunch… Seriously, it’s time for a peanut intervention here because I literally have discovered the meaning of not being able to stop once I pop. Lemme crunch down this review and just say that it’s good for groups because they have huuuuuuge long tables. I think most people like a good roasted chicken with beer. But for me, I thought the food was ok and I didn’t like the beers(just a personal taste coming from someone with a drinking problem) Crunch crunch… I enjoyed the peanuts, but I wouldn’t come back unless I had to for a group function

It is a very large beer place with amenities for everyone. Two entrances, one on Rokin and the opposite on Ness as most of the locals in the street. Bar lounge with booth and quite long bar where you can sit or just stand for a drink, large tables for big groups and smaller tables. Not a very intimate place but being big you can find your own spot :) Beer is the winner, local brewed. The black(Nero) is my favourite. If you want to eat they have a very short menu, the roasted chicken was really nice. A complete small roasted one served with all the salses needed and of course french fries(not the best I have to say). Peanuts on the floor everywhere. Yes, the American way, free and available on every table. Once you crunched away, just throw the shells on the floor. Not a bit fan of it but it is a characteristic of the place. Service is good, fast and prices are moderate. The music is great, late 80’s 90’s … quite loud but not disturbing :)

The Bierfabriek is a great spot in the middle of the city. They brew their own beers here(3 different ones) and you can enjoy them in their awesome café. The have the Puro, Rosso and Nero of which the Nero(a dark beer) is my favorite. The beers cost 3 – 3,50 euros for 300ml. The place looks really cool as well. There are big long tables, perfect for groups. The tables with beer taps on them are cool, you can tap your on beer on your table and never have an empty glass! There are also peanuts on every table and you can throw the empty shells on the floor :) They have food as well. Their chicken is very popular. I tried it and it was very good! There is also an other changing dish on the menu like for instance entrecôte. There are 3 salads, a bunch of starters(also good for sharing since they are mainly platters and bread) and snacks(quite a lot of them and nice ones too!). I really liked the Bierfabriek. It’s a very nice place for a drink and a bite!

I’m going 2 times in one week, it’s a nice place. I accurate on this is not a place for couples(except beer lovers ;)) For group, with friends or colleagues this place is cool. beer for those who love, a good chicken fries for 13 € its reasonable price and a cool atmosphere.
