Not sure why I haven’t been to the Bean Bar before !! Decided to skip Starbucks at Safeway and come support this awesome local business instead and I’m so glad I came in. I loved my bagel and ice coffee with frozen coffee ice cubes!:) Danielle is so sweet and has awesome customer service and knows her coffee! She’s awesome. They use fresh roasted coffee from Rocklin and have unique local artisty on the walls for you to enjoy or buy to take home! Love it!

I went against my better judgement and entered an establishment with double flashing open signs. Really not great or destination worthy in any way. Their coffee heirs on the side of coffee-colored-water, not a good thing. Unfortunately, we tossed them mostly not drinken and had to hit another spot. Toasted bagel seemed barely warmed, interior chairs etc leave plenty to be desired. Nice staff though, maybe they could get better.

I’ve stopped by here for a dirty vanilla chai fix a few times and I have been more than pleased. I also tried the«round mound» bagel and it was okay. The sprouts didn’t seem fresh and that always worries me. However, this last weekend I took my boyfriend and we each ordered the slice of quiche. What they brought out were not slices of quiche, but a «quiche bite» that you can go a few doors over and get from the frozen food section of Safeway. This is probably what they did as they were still frozen in the center when they were served to us. It being so small and cold, we left hungry. I expect more for $ 7 of quiche. I will continue to get my chai here, but I think I’ll pass on the food.

Excellent coffee and great service l. Such a great place. We stopped by just before closing on Saturday. In fact he had already locked the door, but opened it just for us to get one last espresso before we headed back into the Tahoe Getaway. We all got short shots just for a little pick me up. The sushi meal we just had was already taking effect, so I needed some caffeine quick! Thankfully they had read coffee here and not just some brewed swill. The gentleman behind the counter was pretty cool too. Willing to go the extra mile for a handful of coffee snobs is always nice. And the atmosphere makes me want to go back and try some more coffees. Like see how they do a cappuccino.

I stopped here today to buy a soy latte. I figured it would be extra for soy milk. At other coffee places, it’s between 25 and 60 cents extra. Get this: soy milk or almond milk in your latte is $ 1.50 extra!!! Really??? That is some kind of discrimination against vegans or the lactose intolerant. Will NEVER get a cup of coffee here!

I love this coffee shop! Only get to come a few times a year but the service is wonderful they go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your beverage. They have so many options too, its a great place for a cup of coffee!

They ran out of everything by noon. They messed up my friends sandwich by forgetting to make it and then they blamed another friend for eating it. Everything was luke warm and tasted ok. I definitely don’t understand why this place was rated so high. But did i like the coffee and chai

Mediocre coffee. I personally thought the drinks were a little too sweet, and I like sweet! I was really disappointed in their pastry/baked good selection. The pastry case was empty, besides one flat and dry looking brownie. They had a few mushy packaged Danishes and granola bars. The cashier/barista/cook was friendly.

I’ve been wanting to come in here for years but I’m never on this side of town. Finally made it in today while my husband is at the dentist. Got an Aztec hot chocolate and a jalapeño cheddar bagel with cream cheese. Yum to both! This place is way bigger than it looks from the outside and the service was great. Very friend baristas and very delicious products. Can’t wait to come back!

I am a coffee shop junkie! I love them. I am also a harsh reviewer I hardly ever rate above 3 stars. I love this place! The coffee is excellent, fresh, not burnt, like it so often is. Staff is friendly and courteous. The local art displayed is a must see. Great location. But the highlight for me was the fresh baked molasses chai cookies! Delightful and unique. It sounded strange to me when I saw it in the bakery case and I always try what sounds strange. By far one of the best baked goods I have had in a long time.

Stopped here on my way back from Carson to get a coffee and a bagel. Prices are reasonable, coffee and bagels were wonderful and the staff was super friendly. Definitely a good coffee hang out spot in town that Tahoe needs more of besides Starbucks

Great place, fast WiFi, super friendly staff, awesome iced coffee with coffee cubes. Several outlets to get your charge on and the bagels and sandwiches are awesome. I got the waffle sammy for $ 5, great deal. I really have no complaints about this place at all, we’ve been in Tahoe for 5 days now and this is my favorite coffee shop I’ve been to. The only reason I’m leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to a few minor things– there is a $ 0.45 fee to use cards and almond milk costs a buck extra, which seems a bit much. Also, the bathrooms are in the adjacent building, which is obviously less ideal than if the bathroom was under the same roof. Other than that this place is awesome and I will definitely be coming back.

Coffee = good but not great bagel = lackluster $ 0.45 swipe fee for all cards = ridiculous! Yep, no matter what the total charge, they charge $ 0.45 for ALL use of any kind of cards… what is this, 2004? The days of using«high credit card costs» as an excuse for charges like this are long gone. I am not ignorant, I have run several businesses in this industry, and I know for a fact that there are many options out there for card processing that charge around 2.75% for all cards, with NO per-swipe fee. If you are really paying that much($.45 on a $ 5 purchase would be 9%!) for your card processing, then you are getting fleeced. Or maybe you’re not, but you are doing this as a way to squeeze some more profits out of your customers. So, either you are punishing the customer for your poor financial decisions, or you’re just unreasonably greedy. In either case, I won’t be back, on principal alone.

According to the reviews this place is pretty hit or miss, but bottom line is it’s the only non-Starbucks coffee shop within 15 minutes, and it has a lot to offer as far as art, yummies, wi-fi, and good seating for hanging out.

Not impressed. I ordered a bagel sandwich which was described as with salmon and avocado with capers and cream cheese for just under $ 10. I imagined lox but what was dumped onto the bagel looked like flaked gray meat that looked like it came straight out of a can. I imagined sliced fresh avocado. It was a smeared pre-made avocado mix. I ate it all only because it was past noon and I hadn’t had anything to eat all day, but I was really disappointed. For that price, I really had hoped for fresh ingredients. Note that the bathrooms are not available and you must walk around the corner to another building to use one. Go before you order. There was free wifi(you have to ask for it).

I’ve been to this place a few times. There used to be a coffee place, but it closed down(sadly) and this place finally opened up. First off, it’s very convenient. If you’re camping at Nevada Beach, or coming down from Zephyr Cove, this is going to be the first«real» coffee bar you’ll find. They have good ambience, coffee and food. So, how is the coffee? I really have no complaints. Yes, I drink Starbucks and the general black goo that gets served at various diners and restaurants, but these guys do serve up a good cup of coffee and for me, a good mocha. I’ve people watched there and often you’ll get the locals who come in for a soup, a bagel or a sandwich. The meals look good and the portions large enough. But for new places, I start simply with the coffee. They also have free wifi(just ask for the code) and the seating has been plentiful when I’ve been there. It does seem a bit small, but I’ve never honestly wanted for a seat nor felt overcrowded. Like I said, ambient noise and people watching. The prices are on par with what I’ve paid for coffee in other places, and the food prices appear reasonable(okay, a bit more than reasonable considering what you get) but I’ll hold off on judgement of the latter until I actually get a few morsels into me. So overall, a solid place to stop by, have a cup of coffee, a bit to eat and to relax before heading off somewhere. Note: The restroom is in the building behind this place. If you’re staring at the door, you’ll go right and then straight through the double doors into the main building(the one with the post office and the bar/grill)
