Cashier was friendly, service was quick… ordered 3 Asada tacos, chile rellenos combo and basic nachos. Everything was great except chile rellenos, I have never had them in a Mexican food restaurant so I wanted to try them, the batter and the cheese had an overwhelming taste of fish… I personally can’t stand fish so that put me off a bit. Lol. Noticed also nacho cheese seems to be a favorite there. Not a big fan of artificial cheese.

Overall good restaurant. Small restaurant space. Not super clean, but adequate. Love their tacos and meaty fries! Can take a little while to get your food, but I have never been disappointed with what I have ordered. Staff has always been friendly.

The first couple times I ate here the food was pretty good. The last 2 – 3 times I have been so disappointed. The meat quality has gone downhill, particularly the carne asada– tasteless and mostly«gristle-y». Most recent order was Meaty Fries, soggy fries, yucky carne asada. It is always a long wait here, no longer worth it. Added an extra star because the place has always appeared pretty tidy when I’ve been there.

Me and my girlfriend go here all the time. It’s authentic and I say the best tacos in Yuba city. I always get the shrimp and spicy pork tacos with hot salsa and they are amazing. My girlfriend gets the carne Asada and tongue and she loves it. I don’t have a single complaint about this place and hope it stays there for years to come. Oh and the service is always great too.

What an experience I’ve had with this place… I came in at 12:45 to bring home lunch for my family after finishing up at work. I work right by the restaurant so it was a very convenient location for me. It was pretty quiet when I walked in. 3 tables were occupied and customers were eating their food. An employee was waiting at the counter to take my order. I asked her what came on the California burrito. She said it came with your choice of meat [I chose asada], nacho cheese [i asked for NO nacho cheese], pico de gallo [asked for no pico], fries [i thought she said rice] a choice of sauce[which I wasn’t given] and sour cream [which I don’t see in my burrito as I stare at it now]. I asked for no pico de gallo and no nacho cheese because I don’t eat onions(they give me hiccups, oddly enough) and I find nacho cheese to be pretty unappetizing in burritos. I also ordered a cheese quesadilla, 3 steak tacos and 3 shrimp tacos to bring back to my family. The order was made and in my hands by 1:00. I made my way home which is a good 15 minute drive since I live out by Pease Road. When I bit into my burrito, it wasn’t a California burrito. It must have been a breakfast burrito because there was diced ham and bacon in it. I called the restaurant to let them know that my order must have been mixed up with someone else’s. The employee told me I could pick up the correct order as it was already made and waiting for me. I mentioned that I live all the way across town and that I would come and get it but that I wasn’t interested in eating a burrito that would be sitting soggy and lukewarm. «No you’re burrito will be fine, I made it just before you left.» I hesitated to agree with her but she was pretty adamant on the fact that it would be fine. So I made the trek back to Bogue road and picked up my burrito. By now it was 1:38, a good 40 minutes after being made. I noticed it was piping hot in my hand and that the foil was pretty greasy. I’m assuming they left the burrito sitting on the grill to keep it hot. I left a bit happier knowing I wouldn’t be eating cold food but not sure how the food would be after realizing that it would have been essentially«cooking» on the grill for a long period of time. Turns out that just the tortilla got crispy… that’s fine. Driving back, I thought to myself that there would be no possible way that they could screw up the order again… at least I hoped they couldn’t. I arrived back home at 1:55 and bit into my burrito and was disappointed once again. The burrito was filled to the brim with nacho cheese and fries. Now I admit I thought the employee said«rice» not«fries» when she explained what was in the burrito. I take responsibility for that mistake. But the nacho cheese that oozed out of the burrito was exactly what I didn’t want. We even spoke about how I prefer shredded cheese to nacho cheese when I placed my order! So as it goes, I have two burritos here that I won’t be eating and an empty stomach. Do you ever get to that stage of hunger where you just don’t want to eat anything at all? That’s where I’m at while typing this review. I was hoping the food could make up for the bad experience of giving me the wrong burrito and having to drive back to pick it up. Since its not the right order AGAIN I’m just going to assume that no — the food won’t make up for the experience. As for the location itself and the prices… I’m not impressed. The place was just slightly messy with food and trash scattered on and under tables. The condiments were disheveled as well. The tacos are kind of expensive considering that they’re very small. The girl that helped me was nice but She was also supposed to be responsible for making sure my order was correct… It’s highly unlikely that I’ll ever come back to this establishment. My experience resulted in a waste of gas, money and time.

Love this taqueria. i’ve been here 3x now and it’s a nice little place for take out or for a quick bite. Staff is friendly and there always seems to be a good flow of customers. The décor is your standard formica booths and table set up. But the prices are the lowest around and the food is made to order and pretty tasty. When you get the combo plate it comes with a drink and you can choose horchata too as your drink. My husband raved about the salsa which is home made and has a lot of deep flavor. For me the red was a bit too spicy but the server said the green salsa is milder. that’s what i’ll get next time.

Food is average. I would rather go somewhere else. Employees are highly unprofessional and unfriendly. Definitely will never return because of the horrible customer service.

Service was okay but food was gross. So bland. Too bad I was on the road and couldn’t add flavor, wouldn’t recommend this place. Not only was my food bland but so was everyone else’s. Also where the heck is the salsa?!

I ordered the meaty nachos with asada. They were AWFUL! The meat was fatty, the sour cream was liquidly, the chips were stale, but Tue biggest disappointment was the cheese! It was canned liquid cheese and not the real deal. The cheese wasn’t even the good Que Bueno cheese. It had to of been the cheapest canned cheese ever because it had absolutely no flavor. I bet, if there were more items on meal, I’d have more to complain about. I’ll never eat at this location again. Nachos are such a basic meal to make. If they went wrong on these, I can’t imagine how bad the rest of their food is.

The food is decent. We ordered 10 tacos, 2 burritos, and an enchilada. Everything was vegetarian except a burrito which had chicken. The cost was $ 61 which was not really worth it. I enjoy the food at Casa Lupe more and the pricing is comparable.

Food is decent. Nothing here to distinguish it from the hundred other Mexican food places in town. Meat is fatty and burritos can be dry. Tacos are simple but good. Waited over a half hour today for our food which is much to slow for a take-out place. Staff seemed stressed but they are doing their best. We only go here because it is close to our house.

Great food along with great service. Food is made when you order it, not sitting around all day. A nice hole in the wall place to eat.

I eat the California Burrito every time I’m here. It never steers me wrong. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have ice cold beer. The seats are comfy if you’re dining in. Why are you still reading this? go eat at Veronica’s!

I gave this place two chances before writing the review. 1st try customer service was great, food was average. 2nd try customer service was atrocious and food was yucky. Paid for chips, salsa, chicken tamale, two carnitas tacos, rice, beans, an horchata. I was unable to drink the horchata it was so bad. It tasted like it had sand in it. The chips were stale, an the tamale was dried out. The tacos were good enough, but I can get good enough tacos some place else that has good horchata.
