Ok, the food here is kinda yucky. The pot stickers were REALLY yucky. Everything is bland. Prices aren’t especially cheap. Not going back. Ever. Even though it’s convenient to my location.

I had Hengs prepare a five course feast for that day after Christmas for 30 people. The food was excellent. Everything was nice and hot. Very fresh ingredients and delicious. I would highly recommend them for any time you want delicious Chinese food. Very reasonably priced and an abundance of food

I had the phở. It was ok. The broth was lacking in depth of flavor. My husband had the orange chicken that was nicely spiced. The overall service was good and welcoming. Second visit to the café was redeeming. I had the sizzling rice soup and an order of potstickers. The soup had a nice subtle onion flavor which went well with the flavorful filling in the potstickers. The potstickers dough was fluffy on the inside and nicely crispy on the outside. Husband had the combo plate that was a generous helping of noodles and general tso’s chicken,

I expected so much more for almost $ 70! Overpriced, underseasoned and not any more impressive than Panda Express. The egg flower soup was quite greasy. I’d guess that the ratio of meat to veggies in our food(Mongolian beef, cashew chicken, and almond chicken) was 1 to 6. No exaggeration. If I had wanted vegetarian dishes I would have ordered them. My favorite thing at any Chinese place, potstickers, were just flat out bad. The wrap was thick and doughy and the filling was, you guessed it, bland. Super disappointed, won’t be back.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Heng’s Café! We ordered take out, a variety of individual dishes a la carte. The food is great, but I think the prices may have gone up, seems pricier. General chicken was excellent, loved the flavors and big pieces. Fried Rice was good, Chow Mein was good, Broccoli Beef was good. The Walnut Prawns are very tasty, I highly recommend trying them. They gave us 3 Fortune cookies and 3 Hot Mustard packets, but no Soy sauce packets, which was OK because we have Low sodium Soy sauce at home. It was a quick pick up! They packed everything nicely into a box, easy to carry out. Took about 20 minutes to get home and all the food was still Hot and tasted great! Probably will be back, but I prefer to dine in. I really like their Lunch combos and Phở is pretty good.

I used to go here often with family and friends, I quit going a few years back because it had went down hill. I didn’t think I would ever go back. Well today my wife and I thought we would try it, BIGMISTAKE! When we arrived I realized it was still the same place. Drinks still come in cans and they still don’t understand the value of service. We were seated and they took our drink orders right away, and then came to take our orders that’s the good part. As we set at our table I noticed it was sticky not from not being clean but years of build up then I looked at the counter behind were the workers are and I noticed 2 or 3 pill bottles with pills in them that if kids were with us they could have easily gotten to. They brought out my wife’s order 5 minutes before mine(i hate that) and when they brought out mine there was a very big chip out of my plate(on my Facebook page you can see the plate) My food was not good at all except for the chow main and egg roll everything I would not have fed to my dogs. Orange chicken was brown and tasted like sweet and sour but not citrus the fried rice was bland and I did not even eat more than 1 bite. The 1 star is only because there is nothing lower

My family and I have been going to Hengs since they first opened… Over 15 years ago. They make the best and most consistent Chinese food within 75 miles of Yuba City(the best and most consistant Japanese food is Hana Tsubaki in Sacramento.) Having lived in the Far East for almost 5 years, I know oriental food well. As with all cuisines, there are regional variations. I like Hengs for a number of reasons, but primarily because they don’t skimp on meat, the servings are generous and the food is consistant. I don’t mind waiting for fresh food that comes to the table hot! I have never experienced rude service, but I have never been a rude guest. I would recommend General Chicken, Orange Chicken, Wonton Soup, Walnut Chicken(or shrimp) and /or their chicken potstickers… Yes, I like more meat than vegetables. My husband orders a lot of their vegetable entrees because they always come out crisp and crunchy without being overlooked. The grandkids love the Orange Chicken with white rice.

So here’s the thing. The guy working behind the scenes… Ben… is an awesome guy, and he makes AMAZING food. The prices are great. The problem is the old woman up front. She is very rude, pushy, and impatient. I used to go there at least once week cause I work just around the corner, but her attitude got to be so much for me, I haven’t been back in like a year. She acts like you’re wasting her time, although on any given day you go in there, there’s a maximum of 3 tables occupied. It really sucks for all the others busting their rump in there. Cause its gonna be her attitude that runs that place into the ground.

Hubby brought take out a and everything was delicious! Very fresh and good quality ingredients. Only 4 starts because I haven’t been to the place but I’m definitely going to try more of their dishes.

My first thought was«expensive». My second thought was«bland». I called in a phone order for two deluxe combinations(orange chicken and Peking spareribs), as well as an order of tangerine beef. The menu online lists these as $ 7.45, $ 7.25 and $ 10.25. Imagine my surprise when the total comes to $ 34. Turns out the deluxe combinations are only at lunch and I was charged dinner combo price. I find this shady since the combos I ordered do not exist on the dinner menu. I think they should have said something when I was ordering. On to the food. The Peking spareribs are awesome. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. The egg roll filling and egg drop soup little to no flavor or spice. The egg rolls wrap had good texture though. The chicken chow mein was decent but needed more spice. The foil wrapped chicken was pretty good. My fiancé felt it had a slight perfume like taste but I enjoyed it. The tangerine beef had neither the texture nor flavor that I am accustomed to. The beef was not crispy and was accented with broccoli instead of peppers. I believe I was given the Mongolian beef(not enough broccoli for broccoli beef). The orange chicken was just ok. Sad because I was looking forward to that the best. The pieces of chicken were large and the batter thick, leading to gummy rather than crispy chicken. The portions were large but I would have preferred smaller, with better quality. I will likely come back for the spareribs but not for anything else.

This is by far my favorite Chinese food place of all time! I recommend the pot stickers. Delicious! Everyone I bring here loves this place too. The owners are always friendly and it’s decently priced. The best time to come is during lunch.

Terrible dinning experience. It took more than 10 minutes just to get a drink order. They didn’t have any of the standard drinks. The only thing I could get was a warm can of sprite. Really? What restaurant serves a can of soda? After getting drinks it took another 15 minutes to have our order taken. There was not a single other person in the restaurant either. While taking our order they told us they were out of the first THREE things we ordered. Anyways. Once we got our food it was cold, under cooked, and terrible. The beef tasked acidic and the sauce had zero flavor. The chicken tasted like it was taken out of a middle school cafeteria. Rice was even extra money and was totally dry and cold. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The only recommendation I have for this place is to never go!

The Phở here is not Phở. It’s missing that Vietnamese flavor that is essential to phở. the service was good and the prices are mehhh. For being one of the only restaurants in Yuba that offers it you expect to pay a little more but it wasn’t worth it. I haven’t tried the other food here but if you love Phở like me this place was a let down to say the least.

This place is so Damn delicious! Everything is made just perfect I’m in love with literally everything on the menu! The lady can be a bit standoffish but after a few times she saw I was«a regular» and became more friendly. But to be honest the service isn’t what I come for its the food! The chow mien is perfection and the honey walnut shrimp is to die for! And the crab cheese won tons omg! I want to live in them lol

this review is only for the phở will come back for the Chinese food. What can I say I was craving for some phở and Unilocal took me to this place. Was super excited as I hadnt had phở in a couple of months and I used to eat it once a week! So first of all, the bean sprouts were SOGGY! YUCK! There was no onions or cilantro in my phở, no lime, and no little sauce bowl for my hoison and sriacha sauce!!! FML. Soup was hella bland and noodles were gross. Did not cure my phở craving at all… extremely disappointing and Im never dissapointed with phở :(

Awesome Chinese food in Sutter County. I wish they had this place in Sacramento. Came here for dinner after picking up a car. It was me and two other people. Man, did we have an appetite. Was seated promptly and given water right away. They had tons of options in all categories. Order the crab cheese wontons for starters, tangerine chicken,(orange chicken), chicken chow mien, pork fried rice, and Walnut shrimp. All very good and delicious, all very fresh. Typical mom and pop Chinese restaurant that I’m use to from Sacramento, but a bit cleaner. Prices are fair and proportions are huge. We had a lot to take back home. If I’m ever in town and in need for some Chinese food, I’ll stop on back here! They also serve phở, some dim sum, and some daily specials. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone in this area looking for some Chinese.
