I always leave satisfied! With lots of left overs for later!!! My sister and I always go in for lunch special 20 $ for the both of us and plenty of food! For a Chinese food lover I highly recommend.

My family had been going here for years! I’ve moved away from the area but always make a point to stop by when I’m in town.

So, today i accompanied my mother in law and my wife to chinese gardens for lunch, and what follows is an overlook of my experiences there First impressions as I walk in the building — it’s dark in there! The lights are dimmed beyond my liking, I’ve never been one for eating in dim environs. The décor is a bit kitschy, but about what you would expect from a typical Chinese restaurant. Seems cluttered though, lots of random knick knacks all over the place. The chairs are small, wooden, all have a u-shape on the back, so large folk like myself would be very uncomfortable as the wooden points poke in your back. Because of that, we opted for a booth along the back wall. The booth had a wooden back to it, but the bench was comfortable. Unfortunately, we could hear LOUD kitchen noises that repeatedly startled my wife. A little bit of a bummer Next — wait staff. I was pleasantly surprised at how attentive they were. Too often you get ignored in chinese food establishments in this town, but these ladies were friendly and kept our drinks filled, and brought our food out in waves as it was ready, which I kind of liked! Everything was brought out nice and hot, so I didnt mind at all. The food — hit and miss. We ordered dinner combinations and a couple appetizers. I’ll break it down Chicken corn soup — a tad bland, but once I added salt it had a really nice flavor. I like mine spicy so added some chili paste… which is also tasty. Not a bad start. Cream cheese crab wontons — came out piping hot, with a decent amount of filling. Fried nicely with a perfect golden brown, but a little chewy. Flavor wasn’t bad… but were is the crab? If crab is in the name, I expect to taste it, but couldn’t. Fried prawns — I’d say these were about 50% breading to shrimp ratio. A little dissapointing. But, they were crispy, light, and the little shrimp it had tasted good. Egg roll — a good size. I like a large egg roll. crispy coating, all right lets take a bite… blarg. Bland city. I had to add a crap ton of chili sauce, sweet and sour, salt, anything to give these things flavor. They contained what appears to be cabbage? Sprouts? I dont know. Veggies… no meat. Very little seasoning. Very Big bummer. Chinese style pork — strips of this was served with our dinner as part of the combo. So I wasnt too disappointed when it turned put to be cold with a rubbery texture, nothing a little condiment action cant fix. But still… bummer. King pow chicken — I didnt get to have any of this, my wife apparantly liked it very much, and didnt bother sharing, haha. Still, came out hot, Smelled nice, and my wife had no complaints. Pinnapple chicken — my mother in law got this. Came out looking exactly like sweet and sour chicken, and tasted like it, too. I jacked a couple bites Crispy hot coating, very nicely flavored sauce with perfect consistency, and juicy chicken. Nothin wrong with that! Probably gonna order this next time. Broccoli beef — my choice from the dinner combo… and I’m glad I ordered it. I like my Broccoli cooked well, just until I can bite through it but with a little snap, and this was perfect. And these guys are killin it with the sauces, good stuff! This sauce had a great flavor and consitency, and well seasoned so I didnt need to add anything to it. The beef was tender, well flavored, and cut into nice bite sized peices. All in all, pretty good! So, final impressions. I’ll probably go back to order take out, avoiding the unpleasant bummer items. The sauce on all the food was on point, but the Fried items were bland. Waitresses were nice and attentive, and didnt mind I was a little ornery to my mother in law Not a bad little place, but it could use some improvements.

I love the food here. Brandy fried chicken is amazing, fried rice is simple yet delicious, beef and Chinese broccoli is fantastic. But our last visit left a bad taste in my mouth. Granted, it was a busy night, but still, it took us 2 hours to get in and out of this place. Good thing we didn’t have any other plans that night. The food came at sporadic times, no rhyme or reason. By the time the last dish showed up the rice was cold. It was at least 30 mins from the first and last dish being delivered and that last dish was GROSS. We boxed everything up except that dish that didn’t even get touched(besides to taste it.) I told the waitress it was gross but I guess you can’t send back food here. So I paid 14 dollars for something we didn’t get close to eating. I guess they would rather have those 14 dollars than my return business.

Gotta love Chinese Garden… I love the soup and its the best Chinese in town. I’ve been going since I was a little kid and they still remember me even though I don’t go very often. Take out or dine-in, Chinese Garden is a win.

Best won ton soup ever. I crave it when I’m not in town. Pretty good noodles but the soup is the winner. The atmosphere is not my favorite so we always order to go. It takes a while so you have to call in ahead. The four stars are for the soup, with out it I’d give it three.

We had went here for dinner tonight and the pork fried rice and pork chow mein are always good. Not a fan of the general chicken., Hengs Café had a much better general in my opinion. The place was packed and we didn’t have to wait very long for our food. Our waitress boxed up my food and we were good to go. It’s been years since I went back but they replaced the front door with a beautiful glass door.

Love it here! I always come and get the crab cream cheese wontons, and the sweet and sour pork. The chicken chow mien is also really good. The service is great as well, as soon as you walk in they greet you immediately and have you seated.

The food is great, but the service is terrible :( Also, they tried to short change me by $ 5.00 when I paid the bill.

This place is disgusting. I’m not talking about the food but the location itself. I came here with my family and we were seated in a booth in the way back of the restaurant. While we were eating 2 roaches were walking across on the top of the booth! We were so disgusted and left. The food is great but it really makes me question how sanitary the owners really are. We don’t know what goes on in the back and obviously they have a roach problem! We def aren’t going back there anymore, not until they fix their bug issue.

Have been going there for years, 90% of family dinners were taken place in Chinese Garden. We have always had great service and their food is the best around(in my opinion). I really recommend the Salt and Pepper Ribs, when we order those we get 2 orders because they are gone faster than they appear.

I have come here many times, and I think the food is very good. The lemon chicken is the best that I’ve had, and the four treasure vegetables are fantastic. I also can’t get enough of the Chinese chicken salad.

A friend and I went out to eat there last night, it was my second time there. We started off with the crab & cream cheese wontons; they were the best I’ve had in quite awhile. My meal came with an egg roll and soup. Now, the egg roll was delicious and it was larger than I expected it would be. The soup was okay, but I had to doctor it with soy sauce. I ordered the beef with Chinese vegetables and steamed rice. The beef was nice and tender, the vegetables(Baby Bok Choy) were done just right, and the sauce was absolutely divine. Our wait staff was friendly and attentive; I got a free side of steamed rice to take home with me; but the one thing about the wait staff that bothered me was seeing one of them walking around eating a popsicle while working. Other than that, it was a great dining experience.

The only reason I have them a two star rating was because the service is always so terrible. The food is great though so we often call in a to go order to avoid having to tip for rude service. Anyone interested in going should try the Brandi chicken.

I usually get carry out and am always pleased with the taste and portions. However, this time we decided to dine-in and I changed my mind about them. I’m very disappointed in the service; we were seated and no one came to ask us for drinks for 10 minutes! The waitress ever walked by our table and didn’t even look! Then I see her grab her phone, then finally someone comes doesn’t even say hi and just asks us what we want. Not pleased with service at all. The food is good, but I can’t handle bad service!

I have yet to be disappointed, I’ve eaten lunch here once a week for over a year. The food is always hot and full of flavor. They have a great lunch menu and includes nice size portions. To me, its’ good olé Chinese food,(not gourmet), as I remember as a kid. The staff is great and makes sure your well taken care of. They have a regular following and know their customers. I’ve also witness the Chef, family and friends? sitting down for a late afternoon meal. That tells me it must be OK ! The go to place for Chinese food in Yuba city.

This is without a doubt the best Chinese Food available in Yuba Sutter for folks who know what good Chinese is supposed to taste like(hint — it doesn’t come in an all you can eat buffet).
