We tried buying our items at sams and the poor customer service, long lines, and fact that they don’t accept Visa made that impossible. So as tired and weary shoppers seeking a safe haven to fill our apartment we were pleasantly surprised by this little discount chain. The experience was painless and even pleasant!

This place is definitely«BIG» lots of choices to browse around, sad to say… Customer service is meh! And not enough associates to help you… Big Lots needs to hire more people to attend to customer’s needs. This store feels like a ghostly sometimes. Most times, I feel like I’m the only shopper in the store shopping around for a bargain. Cant say much about this place, but definitely Big Lots needs to get their things together and hire more people and possibly treat their associates fairly, they seem sad and not happy… Which makes me wonder if the turn over rate at this store to work is very blahhhhh! No wonder why employees are quitting by the droves… Moreover, aside feeling some sympathy over Big Lots… A lot of goods are a bargain. Ahem! Good for the customer… Will definitely rate better if there were more workers though so I can find what I needed easily than playing a game of «Hide & Seek» finding the employees. Ugh! Such wasted time at my end.

Very displeased with their customer service. I purchased a large piece of furniture from them that just barely fit in my car. Me and two of the sales associates managed to make it work. They were great and helpful. But then I got all the way home only to realize that they had given me the wrong color of my furniture piece. I hadn’t noticed this while we were loading my car in the dark. I called them to let them know of the error. And while they graciously said that I could exchange the furniture for the color I’d wanted, they put it on me to figure out how to get it all the way back to the store on my own. I am 63″ tall and weigh 120 pounds and own a small sedan. I’m pretty self-sufficient, as much as I can be, but I can’t just carry furniture on my own. Needless to say, once I figure out how to make the exchange, the Big Lots in Yuba City won’t be receiving my business anymore. They f***ed up because they didn’t carefully read the SKU number on their product, and then left it up to me to deal with the mess.

WOW! this place seem slower business wise since the move next to Winco foods. They have a larger location but they have raised the prices on a lot of items. I suppose the prices are OK if you don’t like to shop around for the best price around town or you are just part of the 1% and you just like to spend money because you can.

If you haven’t been to big lots, its a smaller, cheaper version of k-mart. They do have some great deals(DJ hero-2 turntables, mic, and game for $ 30). I have noticed that the items change so don’t rely on the same product being there the next time you visit. The store looked like a storm went through it. There was random products displaced throughout the store, and for me organization is big. It has the Ross/Marshall’s discount with the store mess feel to it. Not a bad place to save some money on select items. If you have time to comparison shop, add this place to your list.
