York 54

We came to Maine for a Valentine’s Day weekend. This was a random unplanned stop on the way to our resort. Was it ever a pleasant surprise!!! The waitress was SO NICE and helpful with the menu and suggestions. We ended up getting some great tips on the area while we waited for our food. The smell of the place had us anxiously awaiting our food. It was heavenly! The takeout was buzzing and we got to smell all the amazing pizzas cooking. As for our food my husband ordered the margarita pizza and I got a chicken quesadilla. They were divine! I really wanted caramelized onion on mine and they happily made me some. For a tiny little place they were definitely a 5 star all around, both staff and food. We will be back again before we head home. The prices were really reasonable!

The pizza here is great! We started with the Baby Kale and Beets salad. We ordered one large salad and they were very nice to split it between the two of us. The salad was very good and fresh.
For pizza we got the Weather Report and the Winter Harvest. The toppings were tasty and the crust was perfect.
This is a small restaurant with about 8 – 10 tables and a bar. We went there on a Saturday night and it was quiet; it seemed like most of the business was for take-​out or delivery. I enjoyed their pizza more than When Pig’s Fly in Kittery. However, if you are with a group of people for a night out you may prefer When Pig’s Fly.

You will have a hard time finding a better sandwich and the Pizza is the best in the Area. I second all the 5 star reviews and may I ad, the waitstaff is outstanding.

With a seasonal menu that offers top quality ingredients and brilliant execution you will never be bored. Handcrafted flatbreads in generous portions as well as amazing salads, sandwiches and pasta there is certainly something for everyone. A modest beer selection gives you something to sip on at either a booth or one of the outdoor café tables. A stones throw from the beach and other seacoast attractions it’s a great place to stop in for quick take out or laid back meal. A family favorite!

This place delivers on quality, variety and service. The pizza and salad were fresh, and delicious. Honestly it was hard to make a choice on what to order. I guess that’s reason enough to go back!
It’s small and in a plaza, and probably often missed unless you are a local. I really enjoyed the charm and sincerity of staff. A great find!

On the recommendation of a local dentist we stopped in last week for pizza. When it came, it was slightly charred on the bottom, so when the waitress came by to ask how everything was, we pointed that out to her. She immediately apologized and brought it to the attention of the owner, who also had made the pizza and explained that «He’s a perfectionist and will make another pie.» Additionally, the owner didn’t want to charge us for the pizza at all, but we insisted on paying. It was absolutely delicious with a perfectly executed crust, lots of cheese and a flavorful tomato sauce base. The 54 salad was excellent with all kinds of stuff in it (organic field greens with 5 candied nuts and 4 fruits: almonds, walnuts, pecans, macadamia and cashews, apricots, pineapple, blueberries and cranberries) and the caesar salad was exactly the way it should be; crisp romaine, arugula, croutons, anchovies ($ 1 extra) and parmesan cheese. Tonight we went back for the same two salads, but this time shared the cauliflower gratin and got the roasted garlic and mushroom soup. Both were excellent. After having lived in Manhattan for 33 years and Boston for 4, I know good quality food that is expertly prepared, and York54 excels on all levels. And, I forgot to add, the waitstaff have been amazingly attentive and the prices are very modest. Can’t wait to try some of the other offerings on the menu.

hands down, most consistent food in the kittery/​York area and pricing is right! the flatbreads are flat out amazing and the wings? absolutely to die for! (this coming from a wing aficionado.) everything you can ask for in a wing and more! quality of food is top-​notch and they use fresh ingredients.
had the pleasure of meeting the owner tonight couldn’t think of a better business owner to support! he’s super cool, very interpersonal and knows good music! if you’re in the area, make sure to dine-​in or takeout. this place is a goldmine.

A tiny little pizza place (less than 10 tables with a few more outside, so maybe not quite as cozy in the warmer months). The bathroom was a little chilly (they do have a space heater in there, but it wasn’t on :).
I got the BBQ pizza (w/​o the onions) and my husband got the Pork loin sandwich (when my pizza came I started eating without processing it was actually the buffalo chicken pizza… was good but way more spicy than I was wanting). Husband enjoyed the pork loin sandwich quite a lot.
Overall a decent place to stop for some quick food. Their crust was really tasty.

Delicious and inventive pizza. Amazing sandwiches. Staff is super friendly. Never had a bad experience. Only complaint would be that, like most seacoast businesses, they close too early.

This is the place to go for unigue pizza topping combinations, hearty sandwiches, and delicious salads. Very good quality food! Cooks and staff are extremely kind and helpful. We love to get takeout from here when we want something different.
If you are looking for plain cheese or pepperoni, head down to Anthony’s or YOrk house of pizza. That’s not what you’ll find here

Delicious! This was our first trip here, and we weren’t disappointed. We ordered the «corn off the cob» to start, then I ordered the personal sized «The Kind» pizza — which is a pizza with white sauce, roasted whole cloves of garlic, roasted mushrooms, fresh mozzarella and ricotta. My fiancé ordered the bacon, asparagus and feta pizza. The corn was pretty good, kind of greasy (that’s to be expected with honey butter!) but both the pizzas were phenomenal. We’ll definitely be back!

Feta, asparagus and bacon pizza was delicious – good bacon. The peach and berry and greens salad was very fresh and excellent. Homemade dressing was light and perfectly pulled the salad together. I want to go back and try that blue cheese pizza. You’re going to want to try this–

So good. Had Gorgonzola potatoes, perfect 10 pizza and turkey club. All were super flavorful and large portions. The turkey club was our favorite. Add there avocado spread in it to take it up a notch. If we lived here we would eat here all the time.

Absolutely delicious! I was famished so I ordered the soup of the day to hold me over until my pizza was ready-​a potato soup topped with a salmon mousse. It was a risky choice in my mind, but I was thrilled with choice after the first spoonful. Reminded me of a French vichyssois– really. The «Garlic and Green» pizza was a eclectic blend of crisp vegetables on top of a light and airy crust. Excellent!
The restaurant itself is a cozy hole in the wall with limited seating and a café type atmosphere. It has a loyal following of customers who order takeout. I“ll definitely come back here again this summer.

I ordered the salad special today, Summer berry salad. Very fresh and ripe Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, toasted almonds and feta on top of arugula with a honey dressing. It was so delicious!
I ate it 7 hrs ago and am still thinking about it. Hope it’s still a special tomorrow because I’ll be back. Thank you York 54!!!

Super friendly, sweet staff. The food was surprisingly delicious. Who’d have thought of apple on pizza? Man, but the genius chef definitely knows what’s up.
I got the Hard Cider BBQ pizza and I had to save one piece because I knew that I would regret not having a taste of that pizza again for a late night snack. Just absolutely fantastic. Can’t wait to go back and try Joe’s, too!

Tried York 54 yesterday. I will def be returning over and over and over again!!! The people that work there are sooooo nice!!! One of the best places to eat in York!!!

This place is a small but incredibly amazing place offering a wonderful variety of pizzas, sandwiches, etc. The combinations are very original yet work very well if you want to try something healthy and/​or new. For example, pizza w/​spicy bbq chicken and apple slices may be unconventional but healthier than most other pizza but, most importantly, it is delicious and reasonably priced for the area. Try it out and you will definitely be happy with both the food and super friendly service!
Also, very good with accomodating for the needs of kids. Although not on the menu, they happily worked with us to get our 4 year old what he needed to be content :)

After having a few beers at SoMe Brewery, we needed something to absorb all of the alcohol before our drive home. I looked on Unilocal and saw that York 54 was right next door and had great reviews so we have it a shot.
The place is small and you can see everything being cooked from pretty much where ever you’re sitting in the restaurant. We decided to get the margherita pizza. The ingredients tasted so fresh and the pizza was cooked perfectly!
Next time we’re in the area we will be back to try something different off of their menu. Highly recommended if you’re in the Yorke area looking for pizza!
