We went here with my family for someone’s birthday. I ordered the Bison Burger which came out completely over-cooked and dry as a bone. Another person in our party ordered a steak, which came out to be the size of a silver dollar! Side dishes include a tiny dollop of mashed potatoes(as if it’s gold or something). Overall very over priced and small portions.

The wife really loved this place because they are gluten free. I liked the wine I had. The waiter was very friendly.

My husband and I were so excited to try this place as it is really close to our new home. While the food was okay, the service was absolutely terrible. We made an appointment and were seated right away. We were waiting for the waitress so we could ask to move to an open booth. Unfortunately, it was 10 minutes and nobody came to our table. My husband went back to the hostess stand and asked her if we could move because the air was directly hitting us at the table. She said no but turned off the air. Our waitress finally came to the table to take our drink order. We told her we wanted to order an appetizer but she said she would«come back» for that. We asked a few questions about the menu(she did not offer any information). We ordered the soup appetizer(with two spoons), but they only brought one. We were halfway through the soup before anyone came by so that we could ask for the second spoon. I asked what«farmers vegetables» came on the flatbread, and she told me it was tomato, artichokes, and red onions. I ordered it and it came covered with mushrooms and olives. I picked them off and ate anyway, looking forward to ordering the dessert on the menu. My husband and I both needed refills and had finished our food and she still had not come back to check on us. I looked over to the bar area to get our servers attention, only to see her on her cell phone!!! Come on, that’s ridiculous! We asked the bartender, who happened to walk by our table, to bring us the check. We did not even try to order dessert because the service was so awful. What a letdown!!! It’s just too bad the horrible service outweighs the organic menu.

I drove into the shopping center for Starbucks and spotted this restaurant. I love trying new places and opted for a nice meal over anything Starbucks can offer. However I will never be coming here again. The food was good but the service was poor. DECOR I could see right away that this was a higher end restaurant based on the cleanliness, low-lighting, set-up and décor. They get a star for this. FOOD I ordered a Diet Coke, Fungus, Filet & Pasta and for dessert I asked for the«In Honor or Carrot Month» — which are carrot madeleines and goat cheese gelato. Keep in mind that I ordered my dessert at the same time as my dinner. I waited about 20 minutes for my dish, and when I finally got my dinner I thought it tasted very good. However the truffled macaroni and cheese is very salty and the portion of pasta to meat is out of balance. There’s so much salty pasta it creates a poor balance of sweet & savory. All I could think about was that I should have ordered a side salad to go with my meal. As far as my dessert — I never got it. Keep in mind I ordered my dessert along with my dinner and I waited a while for my dinner. But when I was finally done with my dish the waitress came by and said that I had the option of waiting 15 more minutes for dessert or ordering something else on the menu. I opted to wait, but soon after I just asked to cancel the order and asked for the check. SERVICE I can’t say enough about how disappointed I was with the service. When I first walked in I wasn’t greeted by anyone and I had to walk towards the hostess and ask to be seated. My visit was in the middle of the week and the restaurant was not busy. My waitress was friendly and took my order soon after I was seated, however she never offered to refill my drink nor did she check on me during my dinner. What really bothered me the most about the service was the inconsistency of quality. I watched as a different waitress attending the table in front of me consistently checked on her tables. She also boxed their left-overs for them when they asked for a doggie-bag. While I observed my waitress either chatting it up with coworkers or nowhere in sight. I had to ask the other waitress to find my waitress as I needed a to-go box. When my waitress finally showed up she dropped-of the box and quickly walked away without notice that my drink was low and watered down. Even after she returned to inform me about my dessert she again failed to offer to refill my drink. OTHER I tend to always over-tip, but this time I decided that despite the suggested tip at the bottom of my receipt, I was going to make sure my tip reflected the quality of service I received. $ 2 was intended for the cook, and $ 1 was for the dishwasher.

Disappointed to say the least. Ordered delivery, but I’m guessing the food quality is the same to dine in. Where to start? The jalapeño cheddar bun tastes like cardboard, the bacon bits are big and hard(toothbreaker status), the tri-tip on the steak and egg sandwich was so dry that I’m just lucky I had A1 at home. My husband’s Bison burger was dry and tasteless as well, and the chips look like they were marinated in oil overnight before they made it in the deep fryer. The blue mac and cheese was the only thing we didn’t have to drench in A1 in order to eat, but after paying almost $ 60 for two dry, flavorless burgers, greasy chips and a small SIDE of blue mac, I wasn’t going to waste the food. I could have gotten food to feed a family of six for the price I paid to eat here, the only reason I was ok with spending so much on food was because the food sounded amazing. Next time I want to eat crap, I’ll go to McDonald’s and order off of the dollar menu. Do yourself a favor, if you like enjoying your food, eat somewhere else.

Spent a lovely evening at the Yorba Linda Chamber Mixer and ribbon cutting ceremony for this new restaurant. Food is organic and delicious prepared in the fashion you ordered. For instance I wanted the Tri tip beef sandwich, with no bread. No questions asked, plate came arranged with tender slices of Tri tip with BBQ sauce in a glass dish and the specially seasoned Cole slaw that was supposed to be on the sandwich in another glass bowl on the plate. Very aesthetically pleasing and delicious. The ambiance was conducive to a quiet date night out and/or dinner with your friends. A must tru

When you end up paying $ 18.00 for A GLASSOFWINE and you know the bottle cost for Justin is about $ 12.50, one can’t help but feel screwed! Considering continued bad service, high prices and no personality of any of the three owners and an empty restaurant, I don’t see them being here much past July! Sorry, always a horrible location but when coupled with all of the above, it just ain’t gonna fly!

I was very excited to dine Oceans & Earth, given my wife had spoken highly of it, having eaten there several times without me. I thought we’d be in for a great night, because the hostess recognized my wife when we walked in and they started talking about her most recent visit. Unfortunately, that turned out to the highlight of the night In the end the food tasted great, but the overall dining experience was far from it. My wife’s entrée was not prepared properly — instead of rare, it was well done. I know mistakes happen so we brought it to their attention, expecting they would make it right, while ensuring our food would be re-served together so we could dine together. Instead, they took her food away and offered to re-make her entrée, leaving me staring at my plate. Initially I waited, thinking they would expedite the process, but after 5 – 7 minutes of not seeing our waiter and my entrée getting cold, my wife watched me eat my meal, which I then did the same for her 15 minutes later, after a protracted wait for her food. Technically we dined together, but it was not a dining experience I expected. The only person that seemed to care was the hostess, who made every effort to apologize. However, we never saw a manager come to our table, no one offered any concession, the waiter was oblivious — no place is perfect, but my expectation would have been some sort of apology and a concession(offer of a dessert or drink), but we were simply handed the check when we left, as if nothing unusual happened. I might consider going back if everyone had the same positive and attentive attitude as the hostess, which they apparently did not.

My boyfriend and I decided to come here on date night after one of my coworkers recommended it by saying she loved everything on the menu she had tried — quite a glowing recommendation! The greeting at the door by the host and the table service from the server were warm and friendly. Wednesday select bottles of wine are half off so we tried the Spellbound Petit Sirah which was a nice red to compliment the bison burger. We felt the bison burger was over hyped as the patty had been overworked and was hard and dense, unlike the meat clouds we enjoy elsewhere at the same price point. The jalapeño bun was good but what stole the show were the onion rings. We could have easily ordered and polished off the onion rings on their own. The BBQ sauce overpowered the bison flavor. The quinoa Mac and cheese was too salty for me, however my boyfriend loved it. I felt the best item was the BLT salad because the heirloom tomatoes were ripe and flavorful and the blue cheese complimented the salad perfectly without being overwhelming. The ambience is relaxed. We loved the natural looking décor including the pieced wooden tables. Overall good food but a bit pricy. Being on the corner probably is a factor here. All things considered, one of the top 5 restaurants in Yorba Linda! We look forward to returning and trying more items.

I came here last night for New Year’s eve with a total party of 12. We had a reservation and was sat at our table on time. Our waitress was very friendly and patient with us. Pros: Good service. As i mentioned above our waitress was very friendly and kindly helped us take group pictures. The food and drinks were delicious. Lots of varieties. For appetizers we ordered crab beignents, mussels, potato chips, and nun’s puff(garlic puff balls). Everything was delicious. The sauce for the mussels was very rich and buttery. The potato chips came out fresh but a little burnt. The crab beignets and garlic puff balls were crispy on the outside and stuffed with deliciousness on the inside. For drinks I ordered a Moscow mule, which my cousins and I agree, was better than The Reunion’s version. For my main dish I ordered grass-fed bison burger with the meat done rare(I read previous Unilocal reviews saying it was dry when ordered medium rare). It came with potato chips. My burger came out just as i had wanted it, medium rare. The outside texture is a little more dry than beef. I believe bison meat is more lean so the meat wasn’t juicy. My bf ordered meat & potatoes with the beef medium rare. The beef was very tender and the sauce was good. His dish came with mashed potato with cheese and bits of bacon on top. I loved his mashed potatoes. It was rich in flavor. For desserts we shared a «hot cake» which is a carrot cake served hot in a cup with cream drizzled on top. It was OK, a little too sweet for my taste. Cons: The food took a long time. I believe they like to wait until all the dishes from your party is done to serve everybody at the same time, which is great but we were starving. The appetizers took at least 20 – 30 min. The main dish took 30 – 45 min before we were served. I would advise you to look up what you want to try on Unilocal so you know what you want to order and place your orders ASAP. All in all, we had a wonderful time here last night. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the service was good. We will definitely come back here.

After our first experience, which the food was good but service and selection was not, chalking this up to being new, we’ve tried it two more times, each being progressively worse. Shame, we need more good restaurants in town. Go to Reunion instead.

We’ve been here a few times — our lunch today was excellent. I haven’t been able to eat fish ‘n chips for years so it was an easy decision today what I was going to order. It didn’t disappoint and the presentation was beautiful. The menu is extensive and for being a more organic, 100% gluten-free restaurant I know that is not an easy feat. Very impressive… and we’re hard to impress ;) Great job and we look forward to exploring more of the menu in the future.

We were looking for someplace with a decent selection of gluten-free options on the menu for a family dinner — man, did we hit the jackpot! The entire menu is gluten-free!(Too bad they’re located by my cousin, instead of in Phoenix!) We ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Beignets and the Garlicky Pets De Nonne(Nun Puffs) for appetizers. The Nun Puffs were pretty good, but the Crab Beignets were terrific! Light, crispy and served smothered in awesomesauce(they call it Cool Pacific Island Remoulade). I went with a surf theme, so started with the clam chowder(with fresh ground pepper) — very nice with plenty of clams — and chased that with The Capitan’s Fish n’ Chips — Tapatio marinated taliapia, with housemade potato chips(not English chips — American chips), which were snuggled in mashed potatoes. It was served with Pacific Island Sauce, but I went traditional with malt vinegar. We had a pretty good sized group, so it was hard to catch what everyone ordered — I heard a couple of bison burgers, a flat bread, our GF person ordered Mac & Cheese(since it’s not common to find that GF). Everyone enjoyed their dinner. That brings me to the staff… all I can say is… terrific! Everyone was very friendly. Our server was very knowledgable about the menu, and was able to recommend wine pairings. The rest of the staff took a team approach, so we were never lacking for topped off drinks, etc. This is a real gem in Yorba Linda — give it a try! (Bonus tip — Black Friday and the Saturday after Thanksgiving are slow nights, so you can get in without a reservation!)

Last night I ate here and today I am throwing up all over the place! Food poisoning from the Tuna Poke for sure. This morning I woke up with a stomach ache, and now for the past few hours I have been spewing out of both ends! Do not eat here unless this sounds like a good time. Not to mention that this appetizer took over an hour to come after I ordered it. Do not eat here unless you enjoy waiting for literally hours for service, diarrhea-ing, vomiting, and paying the big bucks for it.

This restaurant was very intimate with few tables, a good sized bar and a great atmosphere. What we initially thought was lacking was the service by means of customer engagement. The owners/management were quick to overcome that with their personal conversation, recommendations and genuine desire to listen to their guests. The food was amazing. The amount of control the restaurant has over what ends up on my plate is shocking. They make an unspoken and unwritten, inferred promise to only present the best food they know they’ve raised themselves or sourced with trusted partners. We’ll be back soon!

Came here for the first time based on the reviews. The menu is very interesting and what I will call American fusion. Check out the menu on their website before you visit. While the food was good, bison burger, hamburger, sea bass and salmon burger, the portions are small and the prices are very high for what you get. Service was ok for a Saturday night and we did have reservations and we sat right down upon arrival. While I am glad we tried it I cannot recommend it due to the price and smaller than average portions.

Was looking for a nice place to go for dinner with my girls. After reading all the reviews I thought we would try it. I called before I came to ask if I needed a reservation for a party of 3 and the guy said«no we can take you right away mam» Went, first thing the lady asked was if we had a reservation. Since we didnt, she said only available tables are outside and this front table. Took about 15 – 20 min before someone even came to take our drink orders. We were ready to order by the time they came out. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, 2 cheeseburger kids meals and a steak and potato entrée. After another 20 min. the waitress came by and asked if everything was ok so far… and then realized that our appetizer never came out. She said she would check on them. And came back 10 min later with the kids meals. And said there was a problem with the calamari and it would be out. The kids cheeseburgers were burnt buns and burnt potato chips. Which btw one of my daughter’s ordered mac n cheese, not chips. If you look at the photo, you’ll understand my frustration. Big plate for what? And then 6 of the 10 chips were burnt. She dropped the food off and didnt ask if there was anythjng we needed(condiment, etc) then a side of mac came out. And then the calamari came out Lol. my food came out. and in fairness, it had good taste. But had better. The people at the table next to us … their waiter even came out and apologized for the wait and inconveniences. Smh Meal cost about $ 65. don’t think it was worth it.

Up until we were about finished with our meal, I would have just given Oceans & Earth a 2-star rating, but their parting gift was clearing our table and spilling seafood bouillabaisse all over my friend’s purse(smelled like fish afterward… still does!)! While I understand that accidents do happen, I think there were so many things that went wrong that night that it’s hard to chalk up this last one as just an unfortunate accident. With that said, I’ll start over at the beginning… My friends and I decided to try Oceans & Earth after reading so many good reviews here on Unilocal. We asked the waiter if he could recommend any dishes to us. Well… the dishes he described to us weren’t even correct/accurate! Or, heck, maybe he was correct but the descriptions on the menu didn’t even match up. For example, he recommended the free-range chicken with the lemon caper sauce. He described it as being breaded. The description didn’t even mention it being breaded. I would think that this is an important detail that customers would want to know when they are ordering their food. In any event, we started off with the highly acclaimed mac & cheese and the earth potato chips. The chips were actually rather good, albeit quite salty. Had it not been so overly salted, I would have loved it; they were fried to a perfect crisp and seasoned with truffle oil and parmesan cheese. The mac & cheese, however, was… weird. The pasta was thick and grainy/powdery, and the cheese wasn’t all that memorable(neither bad nor good) — definitely not one of the best mac & cheese dishes I’ve ever had(as claimed by many other Unilocalers). We ordered the following entrees: 1. Steak & Eggs Cheese Sandwich — First, they brought out the wrong dish(the bacon & egg sandwich). When they finally took it back and brought the correct dish out, the rest of the table had already almost finished their meals! The sandwich was OK, but not spectacular. 2. Diamond Mountain Western Grass-Fed Bison Burger — This was served with a cheese & jalapeño bread. When they first brought this dish out, we were impressed and thought it looked good! However, much to our disappointment, both the bread and the bison were overcooked and dry. We left half of the burger on the plate, untouched. 3. Farmers Market Vegetable Bouillabaisse — The description of «farmers choice vegetables» was apparently interpreted by the chef as more of «filler vegetables.» There were no substantial vegetables that made this into a meal. They had mainly cauliflower with some leaks, scallions, kale and seaweed. For an entrée, this should have had carrots, potatoes, and or other vegetables that made this bouillabaisse more colorful. Apparently this one came with garlic bread. I’m not sure where the garlic description came from because this one tasted more like store-bought plain pita bread that was cut into a few ¾″ strips and then toasted. Everything about this vegetable bouillabaisse was disappointing. 4. Aquarium of the Pacific Bouillabaisse — They described this dish as having seabass, scallops, mussel and shrimp. Well, what they served was a bunch of mussel and 3 small shrimp. Where were the other half of the seafood items, you ask? Well, we asked the waiter the same thing. The manager came out after that and explained to us that they ran out of scallops and were supposed to give us more shrimp and fish. Hm… where were the extra shrimp, you ask? Well, I have no clue. Oh… and where was the extra fish? They didn’t even put any fish in it. What about informing us of their intentions to substitute? They didn’t even tell us until we noticed ourselves that half the ingredients were missing! The only good thing about this dish was that they comped us on it for making the mistake. So, after finishing our entrees, we all agreed that this restaurant was more of a 2 out of 5 rating since the ONLY dish that was actually good(albeit too salty) were the chips. However, after the waiter spilled the seaweed bouillabaisse on my friend’s purse, we just couldn’t even give them the 2 stars… so… here we are at 1 star, and will unfortunately remember this restaurant as one of the worst culinary experiences we’ve had in a long long time.

You don’t see a lot of restaurants like this one in Yorba Linda, so we decided to give it a shot. It’s one of those organic, grass fed, farm to table restaurants. I believe the chef grows a lot of the veggies himself. The portions are small, and it’s not cheap. But, I guess we’re paying for the quality of the food. I had the poke tower and fried shrimp. The poke was pretty good, but nothing about it really stood out to me. The shrimp was big, and you got 3 pieces… it was ok, again… nothing stellar. The boyfriend had the bison burger, which was pretty good. I was just a little disappointed that it was just a burger that came out on a plain plate. There were no garnishes, no sides, nothing. We had a chocolate banana soufflé, and that was pretty good. They did mess up our order a couple of times, but I wasn’t mad because they did such a great job fixing the situation. They brought out my meal(the shrimp and poke), which were two separate appetizers that I decided to order as my meal early(even though the server assured me that it’d come out with everyone else’s meal). Although I said it was ok, I was brought out two more dishes when everyone else’s food came. So I ended up with two of each of the things I ordered. They gave us the wrong dessert, and immediately fixed it and brought out the correct one. People make mistakes, it’s just about how they handle the situation. This restaurant, although lovely and had a very friendly staff, didn’t really stand out to me. I’m not sure if it’s a restaurant that I will crave, and have to come back to. I may give it another shot, just to try other items… but who knows, there’s so many restaurants out there that I have yet to try.
