Enjoyed finally getting to Jack’s for breakfast, loved being met at the door by the two wonderful dogs, and felt very comfortable inside the house/restaurant. The food however, was pretty standard. The chili/cheese omelet was very tasty, the potatoes were good, and the hash benedict eggs were very good(provided you like hash). Our eggs, ordered over medium, were very runny and on the over easy side. The coffee was hot, but weak and not worthy of a refill. The lemon poppy seed French toast, which sounded delish, was nothing more than fried poppy seed cake — very dry and no sign of being dipped in an egg batter. Also, we ordered a chocolate milk which they could have at least put in a glass, but instead served it in the plastic container you’d find at your local grocery store. I wish I could have tasted more of the food as the items at the front door looked yummy — the quiche and the popovers, but maybe we’ll try it one more time.

Darling Breakfast/lunch spot. Once you arrive, you will be greeted by one of the cute golden retriever mascots in the parking lot. Friendly dogs. Complimentary homemade coffee cake is awaiting you as you enter. The popovers are the best you have ever eaten. You could go there just for them. The omelet was full of fresh mushrooms and spinach and came with homefries and toast. Bennies are all inventive and decadent. Friendly servers. Cash only, so bring your rolls. Plenty of parking, but hard to find behind a lot of businesses on 6A. Fantastic place.

I almost don’t want to post this, because its already an easy place to have to wait in line for and more and more non-locals seem to keep finding out about this little breakfast treasure! For starters if you go on Sunday look forward to some great specials. No one does steak and prime-rib like these guys. They usually have an lobster eggs Benedict when I go to and i sit there in a mental anguish unable to choose the right one. Whatever one I get I am angry that I don’t have the appetite to get both at the same time. How disappointing I am. It’s nice to see the same staff when I go time after time. It’s a shame they can’t let their golden retrievers inside anymore but they are friendly if you can catch them outside in the parking-lot as you’re passing by. Bonus! If you are waiting in line they usually have a coffee-cake crumble to munch on :)

A very nice local diner always filled with people and a nice, diner charm. You walk in to a view of a traditional lunch counter with a busy open kitchen. Friendly servers stay on the move. Menu items are a step better than your usual diner fare(which is also on the menu). Good portions. Reasonable prices tuned for the locals, not the tourists. Cons: Cash only. No free Wi-Fi.

I am not sure if we keep coming back here because the food is excellent or because its safe and reliable but we come to jacks every year while on the cape. Usually we do breakfast — great veggie benedict and free coffee cake while you wait but this year we tried lunch which was good as well — lobster quesadilla and a nice thick blue cheeseburger hit the spot. Service is always friendly and we love the dogs.

Food was fine. Nice old house out back hidden away from main road. Interesting menu. Only one waitress on duty before 9am, so service was bit slow. Good size for groups. However with three kids felt like we were not welcome by the owners/staff. Everybody else in the room was over 65, like eating in a senior center. Don’t care about age but with three behaved kids definitely getting a vibe of not being wanted. I hope I am wrong. Nice family dogs outside

Stuffy air, slow service, and pretty good food with an imaginative menu. Not much in the way of attractive décor. Difficult to find but kinda worth it.

We learned about Jack’s Outback at the Edward Gorey house. This is where Edward Gorey always are and now we understand why. You will never know this place exists just driving down 6A. There is a very small sign out front along with several other signs which leads you back a narrow driveway that opens up onto a parking lot you would never know exists. We ordered a variety of lunch items. The blue crab roll special was fantastic and the cole slaw was the tastiest slaw we have had anywhere on the Cape. The pulled pork sandwich special was tender and wonderful. The bun it was on was really fabulous and high quality. The sandwich was huge. The corned beef sandwich on rye was fantastic and we all loved it. The grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and tomatoes on rye was wonderful. The turkey club was huge and fantastic. None of us cared for the burger and they kindly took it off the bill even though we didn’t really complain about it(it was cooked to the right level, was a nice size, etc — we just didn’t care for it). This is definitely a hidden gem and we will be back for sure. Cash only.

What a treat!!! My CPA suggested we try Jack’s while we spent a week in Dennis. Restaurant is hidden back off 6A with a driveway that will lead you to it. Long line as you enter, but coffee and coffee cake are available while you wait. The line moves quickly and was very organized. While waiting in line you have the opportunity of drooling while all the incredible breakfast items come out of the open grill/kitchen to be served. Had so many options to choose from. I went with the lox omelet with dill and cream cheese. Lox was flavorful and not greasy. Eggs were perfectly made. Light and fluffy omelet. An amazing combination of flavors with this 3 egg omelet. Had a side of home-made corned beef hash. Again, just right. Nice use of seasoning(not too much, just right). GF had Omelet with linguica, fried sweet peppers and onions. She wished linguica had been cooked a bit longer, but certainly didn’t detract from a great omelet. Fried sweet peppers were awesome as she shared them with me. Also a fresh enormous hot pop over. Yum Staff was friendly, service was quick considering the full house and the restaurant was very clean. The options are amazing. I will be back to try some of the others. Benedict’s looked amazing. Awesome spot for foodies and anyone that can appreciate excellent home cooked food with some creativity and flair.

The best quality of food and service on the cape, for breakfast and lunch. And two friendly, fluffy golden retrievers — Jack and Andie. How could it possibly get any better? :-) Love this place!

Staff is rude. The food is sometimes good. While waiting in the very long line for a seat, I saw the chefs making corn beef hash that looked great! I ordered it with my meal and when it arrived it was clearly canned hash! I asked my(quite rude) waitress about the fresh hash the cook was making and she told me «Oh if you want the fresh kind you have to specify» SPECIFYTHAT I WANTFRESHFOOD?!? Ridiculous.

I love Jacks! Great place to go for lunch — super cheap too! I always get the Avocado BLT. The fries are amazing! Be sure to also say hi to the owners’ dogs who mill outside. The staff is nice. But be sure to go to an ATM or bring a check because they don’t take credit cards.

This was my first time dining here, I was brought by a local. The service was average, the food was awesome, great selection, affordably priced, and the atmosphere was casual. Had I read the reviews I might have skipped it but I am glad we stopped. Clean and comfortable place to have breakfast or lunch — make sure to try a popover!

I do NOT recommend thus place for lunch. Gross battered Sysco French fries and nothing else about the place was exceptional, except for the price … Which was not exceptional in the good way.

This used to be a nice place to eat breakfast, but over the years the wait staff has gotten smug and downright surly. Note to the owners: Perhaps the problem isn’t with your [adorable] dogs, it’s with your«lacking a pulse» wait staff and with YOU. You lost 5 longtime customers but judging from your rude staff, you won’t care.

Went by this morning(a Tuesday), waited over an hour for a table. Looking in the dining room there were 2 – 3 tables open at a time due to NOT having any bus boy’s… And only TWO waitresses! For an «awesome» breakfast place we expected much more. By the time we were sat, they were out of pop overs… Supposedly their staple. Bummer. They also get a 3 from us due to the cleanliness of the entire restaurant. Waiting in line you pass by a cabinet of «fresh» coffee and muffins. Don’t dare look in or around… absolutely disgusting with crumbs, and crud. Staff was sweet however tracking down your waitress when you needed her was hard to do — due to her attempts at trying to keep up with half of the restaurant. Food was yummy with the owner behind the open kitchen — definitely home cooked yumminess.

Great menu, delicious food. Had the seafood omelet, which included their home-made crab cakes. Yum. We went Sunday morning and the parking lot was fine, but there was a line to be seated. To start the delicious morning going, they had samples of coffee cake while we waited. Also, the two golden retrievers pictured all over the restaurant were just chillin’ outside when we left.

Best place we went to this weekend for food. Sad we didn’t find it yesterday morning. Need to come back soon. Just remember its a cash only establishment. The two dogs out front make it even more inviting.

Definitely a must eat at place when visiting the Cape! The food was fresh and amazing! The staff was friendly and quick and you will fall in love with Jack the retriever! He is the sweetest dog! Coming from Southern California I would revisit this place again and again for their great food and service! Try the turkey sandwich! It’s an amazing turkey dinner on fresh warm focaccia bread!

Checked out this place on the advice of my fellow Unilocalers, and it did not disappoint. We missed breakfast, but enjoyed an excellent lunch on a warm Friday afternoon in August. I feared I would have trouble finding anything gluten free on the menu, but the helpful and friendly staff were happy to oblige. While my husband enjoyed the pastrami sandwich with fries, I went for the lunch special of a half avocado stuffed with crab salad and a side of fruit. Not only healthy, but quite delicious! Jack’s is definitely a place to check out when on the Cape. Just remember, it’s «out back» — you can’t see it from the street — and the small, nondescript sign is sandwiched between two lawyer’s offices. Happy eating!
