Wonderful place for breakfast/brunch. The service was friendly. We enjoyed Eggs in Jail and the French toast with the caramelized bananas. Everything tasted great.

I think they’re better at baking than cooking. I ordered 2 eggs over medium, home fries and apple wood smoked bacon. Everything but the eggs & small one slice of toast was burnt to a crisp. I couldn’t believe they actually served it to us. I would have told the waitress but she never bothered to come by to check and see how our order was until it was time to pay the check. When she asked how it was, I pointed to my plate and said«Burnt!» She offered to give me another order of bacon(didn’t even acknowledge the burned potatoes). Yeah, sure, I’ll take it to go.. . NOT. WTF? They didn’t even take it off the bill. I do have to note that one of us ordered the Vermont cheddar biscuit and was thrilled with it. And their spudnuts are very good(donuts made from potatoes). Recap: If you like your bacon and potatoes burned beyond recognition, this might be the place for you. I will not be going back.

Best brunch I have had in a loooong time. We both had coffee and it was slurp yum. I ordered the spud it purely out of curiosity. Hm donut made of potatoes. It was unique in texture and flavor. Try it! My husband also Ordered the Vermont cheddar biscuit. Not quite as unique but certainly yummy. For my main, I had the eggs benny with the options home fries. GET the optional home fries. They were super yummy and enough to share. The eggs as perfectly poached over a delicious pork and a perfect English muffin. I was in brunch heaven. Service was excellent and décor was charming.

Stopped here for lunch. Really nice and polite staff. Very clean. I had the turkey and ham grinder. Homemade bread, real thick slices of thick turkey and ham, no deli meat here. My husband had cheesy grits with pork belly, great size portions. Definitely a hidden gem.

Awesome breakfast and superb service! Quality local ingredients and cooked to perfection. I like coming to these type of local eateries. It takes some work to drive here off hwy 6 but worth every second. I ate the porta Benny and my coworker ordered the porage, both were fantastic!

Ok this is the best place on the Cape so far for breakfast! I don’t make that statement lightly as there are many great places for a delicious bite. If you want a bakery and coffee spot, this isn’t it. If you want a superlative breakfast or brunch then stop here quickly! OMG, organic and local foods! I had eggs«in jail»(eggs in bread with bacon as the jail bars). Delish. Add in their cheesy grits and you have a wonderful meal! The breakfast is crowned with bib lettuce. OMG! You are nuts to go anywhere else in Hyannis. This is a superb spot and you won’t be disappointed if you stop here! Yumb!

Fresh quality food! The omelette comes with a peice of bread that is airy, crunchy and delicious. The omelette itself is a good portion, especially for what you pay for($ 8).

This place was such a lucky find while I was in town for the day visiting a friend who lives here. It’s only been open since last summer, but it feels like it’s been here forever. The ambiance is fantastic, and the food was great. Very different than traditional brunch from this part of the country. We got the biscuit with pork loin, the cheesy grits with pork belly, and the French toast with caramelised bananas and everything was fantastic.

1st visit. I had my heart set on getting the duck egg dish. It’s not a regular item :-( Coffee good enough to drink black. I got eggs bene, which is done with a slice of pork loin vs. Canadian bacon. I think it was a little light on the Hollandaise sauce & the flavor wasn’t memorable. Had to order a side of homefries… Personally, I find that annoying, not to be included. Also, even though the potatoes are fresh and big cut, I don’t like brown potatoes homefries. I prefer red bliss… they always seem more moist & smoother texture.(I understand this is a purely personal preference). I ordered a side of corn beef hash… Very nice! They had a stuffed French toast with strawberry, which included a hibiscus drizzle. I was lucky enough to get a ½ order. My server initially said they were«out»… it was only 0900! It was tasty, but, no where near as delicious as the special strawberry French toast I had the other day @ Pickle Jar Kitchen. Finally, I took home one of their«Spudnuts»(potato donut). Ok tasting, certainly moist, but, I wouldn’t repeat the experience.

I had brunch here on a Saturday morning in April, and it was completely packed. I love their eat-local mentality, and I really enjoyed my creative little breakfast special(poached eggs over barley, carrots, and wilted spinach with hollandaise). We also shared a cheddar biscuit and spudnut, a potato-heavy donut. Such an odd food, haha. But yum! I’ll be back. :) Minus one point for inattentive servers, we sat with the check for 15 minutes and eventually gave it to a different person. There was a line at the door and we didn’t want to keep anyone else waiting. :)

Wonderful place to grab a good olé fashioned homemade breakfast. I ordered the eggs and hash plate. Hash was awesomely savory, fried potatoes were pleasantly crisp and eggs were nicely scrambled. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

We enjoyed this place! Arriving at 11:40am on a Friday, we were seated immediately and adequately waited on. What we ordered: –iced coffee –green tea –carrot-ginger soup –onion, mushroom and bell pepper omelet –The Hippie Burger(without bun) The iced coffee was authentic iced coffee: it was previously refrigerated coffee that was poured atop ice(as opposed to hot coffee that was poured over ice and called«iced coffee»). The green tea was served semi-British style: a bag of green tea had been allowed to steep in a pot of hot water, and that tea pot was what was served to me in addition to a mug. The carrot ginger soup had a dollop of red quinoa on top; the entire dish was under-salted, but nonetheless decently seasoned. The omelet was perfect: the onions had been allowed time to grill adequately so as to develop flavor, and the mushrooms had been cooked separately.(Any chef –even home chef– knows that cooking onions longer than mushrooms helps to develop their flavor more deeply.) My Hippie Burger… ah the peaceful, doobie-esque vibe of the dish! So it’s some garbonzo bean type situation with marginal seasoning, and the chef plates that on a bed of greens with a tzatziki-style yogurt sauce on top, but by the time you’ve taken in the rustic ambiance, you feel ready for this laid back little bite. The fries(NOT handcut, but nonetheless decent) are served with chimichurri. All in all this place is quite the… shall we say… hipster interpretation of foodie-dom. It’s good. It’s missing a focal point and some seasoning here and there, as well as something in the décor to absorb the sound when times get busy, but a great little place for what it’s worth. Spoon and Seed is a true gem for the neighborhood.

We waited a few months to try out this new hot spot. We arrived at 1:30 on a Saturday. The owner’s sweet daughter’s welcomed up. The staff are super friendly. The menu is sublime. The setting, well that’s where they lost a star. It’s rather barn like, not really cozy .i I guess it felt rather stark. I wish they had less wooden tables and maybe an area with a few comfy chairs and a sofa for those wanting to have coffee and a treat or pastry. It’s not a deal breaker, by any means, just something I noted. Go for the amazing food and again, the nicest staff. I got over the environment quickly, as soon as I put the first forkful in my mouth. We had two amazing choices: Vermont Cheddar Biscuit(huge), the BEST scrambled eggs of my life(small serving so two eggs or one, not sure) and a sweet cranberry compote. I substituted grits(OHMYGOD) for the pig, oops, I mean pork belly. My man had steak and eggs with chimichurri sauce. he died and went to heaven. we love this spot for the food. No BYOB in Barnstable which is a bummer if you want a mimosa. Farm to Table, oh ya!

Fresh, hearty yet healthy variety of breakfast and brunch selection. I thought it was priced very appropriately for the creative but still familiar breakfast dishes. So first thing, they have two entrances, be sure to make your way to the counter, that’s the main host stand, you’ll know. It’s one of those restaurants where they really care about what they serve and now they do it. Their brunch menu has quite a delicious selection from traditional eggs and toast to meatloaf, hash, omlets, and fresh baked biscuits and cookies, I wanted to try all of them. The staff attentive and hard working. The décor a fresh relaxing cottage with a cute theme for each table named like spoon, thyme, seed. They have a couple tvs to watch some morning news too if you get there early enough to grab a seat in front of them. One tip: I envision the place getting busy after 9am, we were early but tables were filling up quick after that time, so plan ahead. In the warmer mornings there is a covered patio area too. Specifics on our food choices after pondering on the selections: The prisoner egg dish was very interesting, and had never had anything like it, it had a cooked runny egg inside a piece of bread. Great presentation with a healthy handful of arugula. The not your mothers meatloaf had a very tasty shiitake mushroom sauce I wish I could make. The potatoes that come w most of the dishes are very lightly fried, I could be wrong as they were so light maybe baked. I felt good after eating there. Finally, wrapping up the meal with a salt water taffy it honestly couldn’t get any better! Thanks for a great start of our morning on our road trip home visiting cape cod. Can’t wait to go back again when in town, not even bothering with other breakfast joints after coming here!!!

Spoon & Seed is one of those secret gems I’m almost afraid to speak about. Off the beaten path of Main Street in Cape Cod this little farm house style was the perfect spot for a quiet Sunday morning breakfast with the family. You walk in the front door and immediately breathe a sigh of relaxation. We walked into a fairly empty restaurant; the hostess greeted us immediately and seated us along the church pew in the front window. Yes, church pew, what’s more appropriate for a Sunday morning breakfast? The waitress came over with some menus and poured some fresh coffee. The perfect start for any breakfast for me! The waitress was very friendly and answered any questions we had about the menu. Tough choices when it came to making my menu selection. When I walked in the door I spotted the fresh biscuits on the counter along with some fresh scones. Oh they looked soooo good! I had heard that the Eggs Bennie was a local favorite too, so I figured why choose? I ordered the Eggs Bennie with a biscuit on the side. I laugh here because the waitress had the same hard time I usually have spelling bis-cuit. The hollandaise sauce on the bennie was delicious, very creamy. I asked for the biscuit toasted, I was perfect. My kids commented«It’s kinda strange that we found the perfect southern biscuit in New England.» I borrowed some peach jam from my sons biscuit sandwich plate and topped of my biscuit. Loved it. We all loved the jam so we bought a jar to take home with us as a souvenir. If you love jam you’ve got to try the jam here. The food here is amazing, I love the atmosphere. They make you feel at home here. They have indoor and outdoor seating and everyone on the staff is super friendly. As I said before, I think this place is a hidden gem but I don’t know how long it’s going to stay that way. We’ll be back!!! Two thumbs up.

Wow! This place is great. My family really enjoyed the food. I felt like we were back in SF with the conscientious cooking, local ingredients, pickled veggies and rustic ambiance. Spoon and Seed is a delicious spot for brunch. The staff makes you feel welcome and really cares about their food. They serve local eggs and poach them to perfection with runny yokes that soak into cheese biscuits. The ice coffee comes in mason jars with paper straws. We highly recommend(see photos too): –eggs and biscuit: imagine a large cheese biscuit served with scrambled eggs, pork loin, delicious peach marmalade. The des constructed presentation allows you to customize each bite! –eggs and hash: big steak fry like potatoes with your eggs –eggs special with smoked tomatoes were really special! –eggs hollandaise: my brother inhaled it –side of apple wood smoked bacon: thick slices cooked so crunchy but soft –cheese grits: best I’ve ever had And to top it off the prices aren’t inflated for tourists. Go to Spoon and Seed and support local farmers! You won’t regret it.
