Love this «hole In the wall» their food is as authentic as you can get! And everything is cooked fresh! It does take a little while to get your food but definitely worth waiting for! This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in town!

While passing through Yakima recently, on the way to Walla Walla, we needed to stop for fuel and lunch, so we referred to Unilocal for some high rated suggestions. With such a wonderful Latino community in the Yakima area, it would be sacrilegious to NOT eat Mexican food, so Mexican it was!
This small, little «hole in the wall» popped up to the top of the local Yakima ratings on Unilocal,so we easily located the place off the highway, and ordered our meal:
— 1 plate with 2 Chicken and 2 Pork Tacos
and:
— 1 plate with Pork Quesadillas
The entire meal, cooked to order, only took 5 minutes or so from order to serving. The food itself was just awesome! The condiment bar, had plenty of complimentary salsa, peppers and hot sauces.
I highly recommend this small Ma & Pa Mexican taqueria to anyone looking for awesome Mexican food in the Yakima area. :)

10 stars. I don’t live in Yakima anymore, but when I did, you could find me at Salsitas at least 3 days a week. Whenever I visit Yakima now, I stop there AS MANY TIMES AS POSSIBLE. There is literally nowhere better. In the 10 years I’ve been going there, I’ve had a less than amazing experience maaaaaaaybe twice. It’s consistent, and amazing.
You can’t go wrong here, so it’s hard to provide suggestions on what to order. I usually just keep it simple with a burrito or tacos.

if there were 6 stars I would have. I was looking for some great Mexican fair in my trip out of Tacoma while fiancé had her makeup/​hair dry run. So when reading reviews saw one say can’t wait to come back. I thought sure sounds promising but doubted that good. But I’m coming back tomorrow on return from tri-​cities.
Not fancy. In fact kind of a ramble slash dive. But the food is sooo good. Vuelve la Vida is best Tacoma has and this is far better. Corn tortillas handmade and so soft. Had two Asada tacos and a chicken. But there is tongue and other authentic options. At $ 1.75 a taco worth every penny.
Also had the barbacoa (Mexican bbq) burrito. So flavorful and under $ 4. Included photo of full menu. Fresh salsa bar with shredded cabbage, onions and assortment of things to top off your dish.
Both salsas were remarkable but warning– the bright red is delicious but hot hot hot. The top of my head started sweating and I normally handle heat just fine.
So if want the real deal, fast, tasty and cheap stop off here. You won’t regret it.

I couldnt wait to get back to yakima so i could eat here again. Its been almost 2 years. Been jonesin for barbacoa. It is to die for. Skippyjonjones would bounce on his big boy bed. I live in tacoma and NO barnacoa there. :(. Everything here is homemade fresh. Must stop.

Went here on the recommendation of both friends and Unilocal.Small and average in dining room appearance. Now for the amazing. You walk in and you are basked in the most amazing aromas. The hot sauce has a great bite and the food was fantastic. We will be going back.

This place surprised me even after the reviews. If you want honest to goodness Mexican food, this is the place. No frills no fancy food, you order and pick up at the counter, but the food is real. Not typical restaurant Mexican. Excellent flavors. The salsa is super hot, the chicken quesadilla to die for flavor. We will be back for sure.

Get the quesadilas — so cheap, melty cheese, and crispy! Then, top it off with toppings from their salsa bar.
Beans, cheese, and tortillas are as spectacular. I don’t like that I’m far away from this place!!!

Really great carnitas, homemade tortillas, good prices and friendly service. Loved it!

Food is exceptional here. It isn’t much to look at inside (cafeteria feeling) but don’t let this stop you!!! The best places for these little gems are often exactly like this. I recommend the Pozole but I have been coming here for 3 yrs (every time I visit Yakima) and I have never been disappointed. Oh yes, & then there is the salsa bar…

Since our first choice for dinner was closed, we decided to try this place. We arrived 10minutes before they closed but served us anyways. I ordered the chicken mole plate and hubby ordered potato tacos. My chicken mole was pretty disappointing. Actually, it didn’t even taste much like mole. The sauce was more of a red sauce. Maybe they thought an asian girl won’t know what real mole would taste like (Wrong!) But even that aside, the chicken was lacking any flavor. Hubby enjoyed his potato tacos. The rice and beans were very good though. I’m not sure if I would go back…
