Powerhouse Grill is described here as a «diner». I consider it a notch or two above the diner category. The menu is extensive for all three meals and there is crossover. Every item I’ve eaten here is very good, from an entrée salad, sandwich, and dinner entrees. My favorites include their specialties, the Powerhouse melt with homemade potato chips, and Powerhouse halibut. The quality of service depends upon your server. Having said that, the managers care very much about having happy customers and will make sure of that. The desserts here are well known, deservidly so, exceptional. They have recently remodeled, having new furniture, so it looks a little more upscale.

Hearty, tasty breakfasts. The fajita omelette was very tasty and served with a very large scoop of guacamole, some sour cream and pico de gallo. I chose the sweet potato pancakes and added the option of two eggs + two bacon + two sausage. The pancakes were very tasty. I requested very crispy bacon and it was perfect. Ample portions! Great value. The breakfast menu offered a good variety. This place met or exceeded our expectations.

I just had the pleasure of dining at Powerhouse for the second time. It isn’t easy to find a family owned and operated restaurant that does a great job. And I think that is important. The menu had a, wide selection of entrees. I choose the salmon with tarragon sauce.
Excellent! also I noticed they included local produce and wine. I had another excellent experience, good service and good food. I’ll stop in again when I travel through Yakima. Don’t miss this place and the opportunity to support small locally owned businesses. A friend suggested Powerhouse to me, glad they did.

Yummy, have never been disappointed with the food (quality, quantity). Servers are very thoughtful and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. Only complaint is that I have never gone with a big enough group to share their HUGE delicious looking desserts!!!

Solid, reliable, excellent neighborhood restaurant! Good food, good people, good service! This is our «go to» restaurant. I would gladly recommend it to anyone. I like this place. …I’m probably preaching to the choir. I doubt there are very many Yakimans who haven’t eaten there…

The lady at the hotel recommended the place. Excellent service. Clam chowder was good. Had the halibut and chips, which were pretty darn good. Wife had the French dip, which she said was excellent.
Had cherry and peach pie for dessert.

Great for kids! Clean high chair with disposable bib, moist towelette, and saltines to feed the kiddo before the food arrives.
Came for lunch while visiting grandma. Menu full of choices; reasonable prices; good service. Food was fine – not memorable but still tasty enough.

Disgusting. Every time I’ve been my food comes soaked in oil or grease. My panini had a huge puddle of oil under it on my plate and that’s all I could taste even after trying to soak it up with napkins. Never satisfied with their food. Super divey

Laid back American atmosphere. This place has fantastic desserts and good food. The clientele is a bit older and the staff moves a bit slowly, but overall an alright experience. Not the best food, but not a bad place to eat.

From the outside this building looked like lots of other not particularly remarkable restaurant/​bars and the name Powerhouse Grill could kind of go a lot of directions. But Hubby and I were tired from a long day of driving and seeing the sights for several hours in Mt. Rainier National Park and decided to take a chance.
Which turned out to be lucky for us. Our server made us feel welcomed right away and the menu had many tempting-​sounding items but we decided to go with the tried and true and ordered grilled steaks and baked potatoes with sour cream and chives. It was served with grilled yellow squash with onion and a fresh, warm loaf of wheat bread and real butter. The steaks were flavorful and tender and everything tasted very good.
We had excellent service and a good meal, ordered from the Senior menu, for a good price. So, Yes, I’m a fan of the Powerhouse Grill!

My food came incredibly fast, especially considering they were fairly busy! Had the Powerhouse Melt and it was awesome. One small complaint is that the bottom slice of bread got just a little soggy — I think from the tomato. Seems like a family friendly place.

Probably the most friendly and best service in all of Yakima. What a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic. I highly recommend the Friday night Prime Rib Special. The wife (she had prawns and loved them) and I will most definitely be going back.

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast while visiting friends. Due to the heat I was a touch cranky and slightly over critical, but in looking back, the service was good and the food was good. We would go again. :)

An uncanny breakfast ritual for local couples who eat and stare off… into…the…distance — or at others, meaning you. Come prepared with eye drops because some of the non-​blinking gaping contests can get challenging.
Coffee thermo for each table gets you caffeinated quickly.
Granola Blintz — folded pancake stuffed with strawberries and cream topped with bananas and granola nuggets whipped cream. Gorge with ½ portion, glut with full plate. Add 2 strips of bacon, 2 sausage links, 2 eggs for $ 3 ;)
