I actually like this place and I don’t find other reviews to be close to the experiences that I’ve had.
Their prices are the manufacturer’s suggested retail and they carry an excellent assortment of products from far better than average manufacturers. The people I’ve come in contact with are always friendly and helpful.
See something you like then wait until it goes on sale. You’ll find the sale prices to be deeply discounted and very reasonable.

I would say that Elder Beerman has a lot of competition– Macy’s, Walmart, JcPenney, Sears, etc. You would think then, that Elder Beerman would really strive to be good in their customer service or have exceptional prices.
They don’t. I spent a good hour in this store just browsing and was not greeted by one employee, although I passed at least 5. The signs on their product were incorrect, and the employees get snippy when it rings up differently than they have advertised… Like that has anything to do with me? Fix your signs and prices! I’m only giving this place two stars because I found a pair of cute shoes for $ 10.
