We had enjoyed Larsen’s in Encino many times before, and their new restaurant at the Village didn’t disappoint. Excellent food, great service and beautiful décor. The steak was one of the best I ever tasted. Delicious menu and very good wine list .The waiter paid attention to every detail and special requests. Will definitely come back soon.

The excellents: steak, asparagus, bread, wine, and service. The setting is quite nice(much better than in Encino), but a bit noisy. We had to use iPhone flashlights to read the menu. The salad was only«ok», had too much dressing, and wasn’t as good as the comparable salad at Fleming’s. Now the negatives. The restaurant is seriously overpriced except perhaps for those charging some business account. Vegetables and salads were about $ 18 and the least expensive red wine was about $ 15 by the glass(others were much more). The steaks range in price, but $ 65 for a 16 oz prime NY steak is representative. This means spending perhaps $ 130 per person after taxes and tip, with only one glass of wine and sharing of veggies and salad. It is possible to share a steak also, so that can help some. Other steak houses are also expensive, but this was even more so. Also, Fleming’s and Roy’s often have specials with very good prices. They and Larsen’s both have discount cards at Costco. The Happy Hour menu seems very good and includes nice seating. We will probably use that some time for sliders and wine. The full-meal experience, however, is out of our range. Even for a special occasion, we’d spend less and have a quieter and excellent meal elsewhere. That said, the steak was terrific.

We entered the restaurant from the second floor parking lot. You have to wander through a long storage area for extra furniture before you get to the actual restaurant. You pass the bathrooms, and for some reason the whole front area of the restaurant smells like a bathroom. The décor was modern, but cold. The restaurant is also very NOISY. For me it certainly was not a relaxing place to dine. I ordered a Caesar salad as an appetizer. It was billed as «classic.» It certainly did not taste classic to me swimming in creamy dressing that tasted like it came from a jar. No anchovies or table side presentation. The steaks were very good.(Otherwise I would have given the restaurant one or two stars). The side dishes were adequate. I had coffee ice cream for dessert. I like coffee ice cream with real coffee flavor but this was insipid… This might just be a question of taste; I think the quality was good… I just didn’t like it. The parking validation they gave was not adequate to pay for the parking after eating and doing nothing else at the mall. When you pay north of $ 100 a person for dinner and the restaurant validates, you expect that you’re not going to have to fumble to get a credit card out and pay the additional charge at the gate while other cars are beeping behind you. Not very classy. In summary, I was disappointed.

I was going with mixed feelings regarding Larsen’s. Another steakhouse? And how could they top Mastro’s? To my surprise, Larsen’s is right up there the best steakhouses around! Things I loved… The Décor. Modern, yet still a steakhouse feel. They must have spent a ton on the interior. The bar chairs alone must have been a pretty penny. Speaking of the bar… The Bar. Even though it was busy and happy hour we still had great service from Patrick. They also have some nice deals at happy hour. Their Wedge Salad and Tomato Mozzarella Salad, are great and a steal at $ 5.95 each. Their crab cake is also a winner at only $ 9.95 at happy hour. On to the most important thing… The Steak. Their 20 ounce Rib Eye is $ 65 and worth every penny. One of the best steaks I have ever had and is on par with Mastro’s and even Cut. I really liked the side of garlic that was so soft it practically acted as butter. Also, don’t miss the Broccoli Au Gratin. Creamy with firm broccoli make this dish a winner. Go for happy hour, go for dinner, either way you won’t be disappointed at Larsen’s Steakhouse.

I’ve never heard of this steakhouse until it opened up in The Village near my office. Still haven’t had the opportunity to come here for steak yet, but I have been here a few times for happy hour. We always sit outside at one of the fire pits, and it’s really lovely to stare at the flames dancing over the glass pieces in the center display. Do be careful though, because the fire is pretty hot, and any food or drinks you place along the side will get HOT! I’ve noticed the ice melting in my drink from the fire, my wine getting warm, and sometimes any utensils will become scorching hot to the touch. So be careful. Prices are high(so that’s kind of why we only frequent the happy hour deals), but hopefully the food quality is in line with the prices if I ever do get to try it one day. The happy hour dishes are pretty good, but I guess the real test will be to get a fat, juicy steak. ;) I did notice gift cards for this place in Costco, so I suppose that might be the way to go if one was to splurge on a meal here. I think the deal is $ 80 for $ 100 worth, so that’s a pretty decent discount.

The food was good — but not amazing. For these SKYHIGH prices, you would expect amazing food. $ 14 for a baked potato — really? The service from our waiter was good, but the busers were bumbling around a bit which was distracting. Again, for these prices, EVERYTHING should be top shelf. The ambiance of this steakhouse is not really steakhouse like and a bit sterile, which they attempt to temper with sufficiently dimmed lighting. Overall a pleasant experience with friends — but not great value for $.

Excellent service. Amazing bread. Food is for the most part great(did not like the spinach dip-completely tasteless. My fish was good-not great. For these prices it should be great. Michael’s fillet was excellent, but very small). Prices-holy cow they are high. Parking is a mess-and the signage getting to them from the garage needs MAJOR improvement. Valet parking is $ 10-and it does not bring you close to the restaurant. Parking as directed in the 3 story garage is closer than valet-but serious, a maze to get there, and zero directions. My husband and I walked around for literally 15 minutes trying to find it. Very cool fire pits. Beautiful décor. And did I mention-amazing service? Top notch.

Loved this place! Newly opened at the Topanga Village! Great ambiance… Great service! All the appetizer we had were just as good as the main courses. Highly recommend the beef semi seared tartar that comes on a bed of wasabi mash potatoes. Can’t wait to go back…

My wife and I enjoy fine dining, and appreciate the service and food typically associated with high end steak houses and restaurants. We have been a frequent diner of places like Mortons, Saddle Peak Lodge and other high end places in Los Angeles. I had never visited Larsen’s before, but we were given a gift card for the Holidays, so we thought we would give it a shot and try the newer location at the New Woodland Hills Village. While the restaurant is very nice looking, similar to upper scale dining, the moment we arrived it was noticeably very loud, and on weekday night. With tons of empty tables, it must be associated with an acoustic issue within the place. It’s a good thing we were squeezed together in a booth, otherwise we would’ve had to use our iPhones to talk back and forth. Due to a change in alcohol menu, and very slow service, it took about 25 minutes to complete an entire drink order. All this time sitting in a corner booth in the darkness like a bunch of vampires contemplating leaving within the next few minutes. We enjoyed the newly introduced guessing game, in which we had to guess what was actually available on the drink menu, eventually guessing wrong with 75% of the initial drink order being replaced with substitutes. We ordered two glasses of Merlot at $ 16 dollars each, the waiter than explained that they didn’t have it, however he recommended something similar. We agreed. Later to find out on the bill, the glasses were $ 22 each, with no advanced warning. With $ 60 bottle available, it would’ve been a better option to buy that, but who knows if that bottle was«available» During this time, we were not offered any bread, any sparkling water, and really no explanation for why on a slow weekday night it was taking so long. A member of our party than mentioned something to the waiter about the service, asking why it was taking so long and why no bread was being served, in which his reply was, «you have to ask for it». Maybe that’s a new way of service at this place, where you have to ask for everything. «Excuse me sir, can I trouble you for a fork and knife as well, and possibly to use the restroom?» He then offered to bring the manager over to discuss the drink menu problem as well as the slow service. We explained to the manager the issue, which he apologized, and offered an explanation for the menu issues. Once our food order came out, the Manager’s response to the lack of service was to awkwardly send 5 of his employees over to serve us, with each person holding a side dish offering to plate us. It was like a service frenzy, feeling like 5 mother birds trying to feed one baby bird at once. We told one of the waiters that we could serve our Broccoli ourselves, when she responded with, «please let me do this, my manager wants me to.» An apparent forced action to compensate for the lack of service. I will say the food was good, I ordered the bone in dry age Filet. It was a very delicious steak. Too bad it will be the last one I eat at this chain. At the end of night, they offered a free desert for the trouble, which was appreciated. However at a high end steak house, in which you are spending over $ 100 a plate easy, you shouldn’t have to rely on a $ 12 dessert to salvage the experience. Our experience may be unique, but they had a chance to obtain 6 new frequent diners that night. There won’t be another.

Larsens at The Village is our new«go to» happy hour spot. Since the opening of the restaurant in October, I’ve been here 5 times. Twice with a friend and 3 times with clients. The happy hour menu is extensive. It’s not just your typical sliders and truffle fries like the other steakhouse happy hour offerings, although the prime rib sliders are awesome… They also offer delicious crab cakes, shrimp cocktail and Flemming’s salad and so much more. Tonight, we decided to bring a new client to happy hour and ended up staying until after 9pm. Our waiter, Stephan, was very attentive. The adorable hostess was very gracious as she assisted with helping me find the best place to stand in the restaurant to get the best wifi signal. Everyone from our wonderful server to the bartender, and bussers made this night a lot of fun. We weren’t the easiest bunch to please. We ordered food without any rhyme or reason. We saw something on the menu, we ordered it. 10 minutes later, we wanted to add something else. We had a small table in the bar area, by choice, and everyone made it work somehow. In addition to the random food choices, we had many cocktails. If you like martinis, they make an awesome vodka martini. Thank you Larsen’s Steakhouse Team for an awesome time. We will be back for sure.

Blown away. Service — 4 stars(waiters were attentive and handled the crowd of about 30 in our party well.) Food — 5 stars(I had the shrimp cocktail, fillet minion burger, regular cheese burger appetizers, sushi, parmeson fries, house chard, and the salsa dip w avocado. All starters… all deliciousness. Dont judge I was at a party.) Ambience — 5 stars(magical and warm outside. It was decorated lovely. My friend rented the whole outside area. Magnificent. The music was great and she choose her on playlist. The guest had plenty of space and the tables were warm from the fire. Two pretty big hiccups happened though. The fire from the table was litt while myself and other guest were sitting down. The gas caused the fire to catch in a big fireball. Luckily no one had too much hair spray. And one of the tables fires was too close to my friends headshot that was on her table to reserve the table and frayed the top of it– but that’s kinda her fault. Who does that??? Oh, that’s right I live in LA .) Overall it was a beautiful night. Perfect food, guest, and ambiance what more can you ask for? Highly recommended.

Came here for dinner with a friend of mine. She insisted I order a steak since it was my birthday(she’s a vegetarian). I took her advice and went ahead with the steak and a side of fries. We also got some other sides to share as well, they were all great(mac&cheese/Grilled Mushrooms). The ambiance outside is great! They have little fire pits which are super romantic. I just love the overall vibe of this place. Our server was helpful which was nice. One thing though, my steak was flavored so well however, it was too rare to ingest lol I just couldn’t do it. It was mushy and pinker than I expected, even though I recall asking for medium-well. Anyways, it was a pleasant place and I will be back, maybe just not for a steak lol

I love the happy hour at Larsen’s! I’ve been here three times for happy hour and one time for dinner. This review focuses on the happy hour. Why 5 stars? Food: filet mignon sliders were so amazing. I don’t usually eat much, but I ate all 3. We also really like their wedge salad and their tomato mozzarella salad. Service: Excellent! The bar staff took our orders right away, kept checking up on us, drinks came fast and food came fast. Ambience: Upscale and classy! They have fire pits on the patio. Leather couches next to the piano and a live pianist Wed-Sat. We came here tonight because we left Lucille’s happy hour half way into it because their service was so bad.

Thank you to the people who gave my parent’s a $ 100 gift card to tip our server because our bill was high as ****!!! Thoughts and prayers to my dad’s wallet for sacraficing itself to give us delicious filet mignons, ribeyes, and seafood. Jokes aside, this restaurant can cook steaks amazingly well although pricing on these meat are very expensive.($ 65 for a 20 oz ribeye, $ 62 for a 12 oz filet mignon). The place looks very nice, our service was impeccable, but the food is just too expensive! Complementary bread with 3 dipping sauces of butter, oil w/rosemary, and some sort of sweet chili sauce is amazing. The bread just melts in your mouth and I just had to get another bread even though it killed my stomach afterwards. We had an Oyster Rockefeller for our appetizer(half a dozen for $ 22). Amazing raw oysters, but way too pricy on the side; you might as well go for EMC Raw Seafood and Bar during its happy hours for $ 1.50 raw oysters because they taste just as great! We also had a Lobster Mashed Potatoes($ 36!!!); regular mashed potato filled with amazingly huge lobster pieces. .. I wouldn’t recommend unless you really do have a craving for lobster. Now, if you order steak, generally I would go for the Dry-Age kind of meat — they are much more flavorful and tender and have a lot more marbling than Wet-Age meat(mild, bland flavor) for you people that knows nothing about steak. I love myself some flavorful meat. Also; I prefer my steak to be left alone — nothing on top such as onions or mushrooms as they overpower the steak and bring the flavor and crispyness down. Aside from all of that, as stated above — this restaurant can cook great meat. Wine selections are small, but most of them are great. Had the Syrah red wine and it was darn flavorful and meshes really well with the ribeye. Now, if you are a steak lover and don’t give a crap about money — I’d go to this restaurant. However, I would recommend other steakhouses if you are on a lower budget because this is pricey.

Prices are not suiting! That’s my headline. Okay so back to how I normally write my reviews. Date night with my husband. Left my daughter at the in laws. We were going to go to katsuya but of course my picky husband said its so cold outside. it’s not sushi weather. Whatever. I can eat sushi for bfast so for me it’s always sushi weather but being the good wife that I am… we end up at a steakhouse. Ambiance: not impressive. Very chill. Dimly lite. Doesn’t grab you when you first walk in. The décor is very lack luster. They did not spend much to make it place look nice. The fake leather booths are not in good taste. The walls are either bare or have very plain mirrors. The bathrooms do not have fancy soap or soap dispensers or décor. ~thumbs down Service: pretty waitresses and hostesses. Very courteous wait staff and bus. Don’t place your napkin on your lap or offer you a black napkin if you are wearing black.(I know what you’re thinking but at these prices I expect suburb service). Do place your sides on your dish. ~thumbs half way up Food/value: so the food was good. Not great. But the prices were ridiculous. Comparable to mastros or maybe even more expensive. This is not bev hills and the food ain’t that good. We got the bone in ribeye for $ 75. A albacore sashimi $ 22. House salad $ 17! Really?! ~thumbs all the way down Overall I won’t be coming back unfortunately. At these prices I’ll go to boa or mastros. At this location I rather go to Ruth Chris.

Best steakhouse in town. I got the prime dry aged rib-eye steak. The juiciest steak I’ve ever had. Impeccable service too. Also, you gotta try their Mac n cheese. Your mouth will be watering. I like how close they are located to the valet parking kiosk. Very convenient.

Oh man oh man The juiciest filed mignon I’ve ever had. Came in on a date with my boyfriend, it was our first time here. We were recommended the grass fed filet so we both decided to order it. It was so worth the $ 60 spent per dish. So much flavor, so worth it. We also ordered a few sides to go along with our main course. Our served warned us not to get full off of the bread they serve but it’s so hard to since it literally melts in your mouth. I plan to come back with my family. It’s a beautiful restaurant, very elegant and the service was superb. Larsens steak house is worth the money and has a great ambiance to it as well.

Tip: make a reservation. My boyfriend wanted to take me out to a nice dinner after a long week and was raving about a previous experience here. I finally got to see why he couldn’t stop talking about it. 1st of all our waitress Kelly was fabulous! She even remembered his order from last time after only meeting him once. She constantly checked in on us and was very enthusiastic. Food: WOWWWW! Pricey, but oh so good! I ordered the 2 piece lobster and it was to die for!(69 dollars) It was meaty, juicy, and flavorful. Simply divine. Bf ordered filet mignon & lobster & he absolutely loved it. The baked potatoes– 2 star For that price I expected it to be a little bit more than just a potato with yellow cheese, but everything else I had was so good I’m not holding it against them. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for great dinner & service.

A group of 5 of us came in for a business dinner. Our waiter, Carl, was awesome.(He reminded me and sounded like John Candy). Very informative and offered great suggestions. I opted for The bacon wrapped Bone In filet mignon. It Was amazing! Melt in your mouth steak and not to mention the shrimp.(Later realized that was a $ 29 add on to the $ 55+ a la carte steak) The sides are shareable portions that are about $ 15+/-(garlic mash, Mac n cheese etc) Ordered the seafood tower as the appetizer which consisted of split King crab legs, oysters, shrimp, scallops, mussels for $ 95.00 For dessert went with Carls recommendation of peanut butter triple chocolate cake that was about $ 14. The bill came and suspected we will have to put in some extra hours of work for the whole week to make up for the dent in our pocket. I find it ridiculous to spend so much in ONE meal but since we were entertaining a guest for business we made the exception. So I’m giving it 4 stars. 5 stars for the for food and service and minus 1 for the high prices.

Perhaps if i hadn’t gone to the Malibu Mastro’s shortly before my visit to Larsen’s, this review would have gone differently. Unfortunately for Larsen’s, I had. A friend and I went to the Village on a Saturday evening looking for a location to eat dinner and catch up. Every restaurant that we approached had over an HOUR wait, some up to to TWO hours! This was the case for Larsen’s as well, but we happened to find a couch in their bar /self-seating area and parked ourselves there for the night. We had a view of the patio that had a nice upscale décor and view of the mall(2nd story), but felt the inside of the actual restaurant could have been decorated better. Our tables’ candle lamp wasn’t working, even after several attempts of lighting it/turning it on– nothing– no ambiance for us. Even the piano seemed too dated, but not in an actually«vintage» way, which would make it cool — it was just… old The coolest part was probably when the patron behind us(Older gentleman) got approval to play and did so VERYWELL! But really, these things were neither here nor there… on to the food!: We ordered the following: Arugula Salad: Really GOOD! We were sharing so they brought it out portioned on two separate plates, both individually plated/presented to a «t». Asparagus: Decent. I was expecting something MORE considering I could’ve put the asparagus into a pan and broiled it in 5 minutes in my oven and gotten the same result. Garlic Mashed Potatoes — Just no. There was nearly NO garlic in these GARLIC mashed potatoes and they were so dry that it was almost hard to stick a utensil in them! .I don’t know about you, but I expect garlic, buttery bliss when I order this dish, especially for $ 15+. Needless to say we sent it back when the manager came by to check up on us. She was very apologetic and mentioned that they are very light with their garlic usage.(Note to self — if you like garlic, these aren’t EVER very garlic-y!) THEBREAD: TODIEFOR! A warmed sourdough loaf with softened butter and two other dipping sauces(one oil and the other we couldn’t place) all equally delicious! Herb Crusted Chicken Breast — The flavors were good on the chicken with the mushroom sauce but the accompanying rice was nothing to write home about. We got it on the side, so it wasn’t soaked with the sauce from the chicken which may have acted as a mask for some of the somewhat bland flavor. «Wet» 8 oz Filet Mignon –Decent flavor and cooked to my liking — but for eating at Larsen’s STEAKHOUSE — I was expecting MORE. Pecan Pie — Ice Cream was the best part. Overall, with 2 glasses of wine and tip = $ 188. Just really not worth it. Its not BAD food, its a GOOD location — but it is not a 4 star+ Steakhouse by any means.
