This is your regular Chinese take out/delivery place, but the dishes here are done right! The parchment prawns are my fav dish here! If you do decide to dine in though the service is more than friendly and for that I will give this place 4 stars!

The online order system works just fine. Ordered and picked up in 20 minutes. Food was a typical take out. Flavors are one note-I think a Chinese 5spice blend. I wish they would not use frozen peas and carrots in the fried rice, poor excuse for a stir fry.

The General Tso chicken tasted like it was mixed in with BBQ sauce. I maybe took two bites and had to throw it away. So I ate my beef on a stick which was WAYWORSE!!! There was no flavor what ever!

Gave them another chance and I was definitely happier with the food quality, the service, and the time it took for my food to arrive.

Walking in its very inviting and a relaxed atmosphere. We went at lunch time and they had a large lunch menu which was nice. The woman who was working was friendly. We placed our orders and she then brought us out drinks. I ordered an ice tea expecting it would be fresh brewed, but received a brisk tea in a can and my husband got a can of coke. No glasses or ice just the can and straw which I just find odd for the fact his was more along the lines of a restaurant than a whole in the wall. Our soup and appetizer came quickly and we were pleased overall. Everything tastes good and was hot. Then our food came. I had ordered garlic chicken and vegetable chow mein. Instead I received garlic chestnuts & bamboo with a few pieces of chicken and a large mound of steamed vegetables with one single noodle(literally). We got the woman’s attention to ask what happened to my order and she insisted that was chow mein. She was nice enough then to bring me a plate of Lo mein since clearly we have to different interpretations of noodles. Overall it was a good experience. Just wished I would have gotten real chow mein and not a can of crappy tea.

Gotta say I was impressed. I ordered from this place online 2 times and both times delivery was quick. The food was really really good for Chinese delivery. Their vegetarian dishes are amazing and the crispy hot chicken is awesome. I’ve had all sorts of Chinese delivery from all over the country and this is at the top of the Chinese delivery spectrum.

Came here because of the reviews. My friend and I went there with her son and my daughter. We loved it. Our waiter was very nice. We got the chicken and broccoli which was very good. The orange chicken was very orangey. We fell in love with their chicken and shrimp spring roll.

Food is good, delivery is not very reliable. I’ve ordered three times, two of which took almost two hours to deliver. Third time only took about 25 minutes.

I’m Chinese and grew up eating Chinese food so my standards are a little bit different compared to the typical Chinese food enthusiast here in the US. Having said that, one has to separate«authentic» Chinese food from the«Americanized» version. Shanghai Café sells mostly Americanized food and it does it well. On its menu, it proclaims«no MSG» and«vegetable oil». That’s a good start when you’re more of the health conscious eater. Second, the prices are VERY reasonable compared to other takeout places in the area. Third, Americans like BIG portions and this place does not disappoint. I ordered a lunch takeout combination platter of General Tso’s chicken for $ 6.95 and it came with plenty of chicken, fried rice, broccoli, egg roll, and soda. You can’t beat that price! Finally, is this stuff actually good? I’d say simply judging by the General Tso’s, it’s pretty decent. Note, I didn’t say great because I thought the chicken needed a little more heat. It was still slightly on the sweet side. All in all, this is a solid restaurant if you a quick, cheap, and tasty Chinese takeout. I’m a fan!

Ordered a $ 60 order with my BFF and hubby while watching Caps game today. It was prompt, hot and quite enjoyable. The no MSG was what caught our eye. Cantonese Duck, Moo Shu Shrimp(frozen tiny shrimp), Hot & Sour soup, Meat Dumplings, General Tso’ Chicken and Szechuan Shrimp(HUGE). Great food, great game, great day!

Ordered take out again and it tasted great! Ordered my regular chicken lo mein with shrimp spring rolls and egg drop soup. The soup was delicious and the lo mein is the best I’ve had in Woodbridge! I definitely recommend ordering take out from here if you are craving Chinese food!

Crispy beef was floppy & not what I expected, they used alot of broccoli so little beef in serving. Basil shrimp was good. Wanted to upcharge me 1 $ for egg in my fried rice? I only went because I was at a doctor’s office in the same office park. I won’t be back.

I’ve eaten at a lot of Chinese places and none have been so welcoming. Needless to say, the food was great, my favorite was the general tsos chicken and fried dumplings. One of the things I especially enjoyed was that I could customize my dish. I can be a little picky but they were really great about it!

Horrible Chinese food. I had the pork fry rice and chicken wings. Rice was dry and no flavor. Wings was not good at all.

Atmosphere was great and the service was good, and they had awesome wonton soup and egg rolls — that being said I ordered the chicken and broccoli with the chicken Lo mien, the chicken in the Lo mien was actual chicken but the mystery meat they used for the main dish was disgusting — my mother had the same experience with her pork and vegetables… to say it looked and tastes like rubber would actually be a compliment

Actually went here twice — the 1st time the staff and food were great, but just recently returned after a few weeks to find quite the opposite! Food was just not fresh tasting, and spring rolls were filled with some kind of gray mush! And the worst part was that somebody in the kitchen was heard yelling for about 15 minutes!

Today was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I have a Chinese take-out I normally go to but they have room for improvement. So, I thought that I may be able to find better results elsewhere. First mistake. I placed my order for delivery online through Unilocal. Before confirming the order I called the restaurant to confirm that they had hot sauce packets, not cups, for my wings. The white packets just have a unique flavor you cannot get elsewhere. The woman assured me they had them so I proceeded to completing the order online. I called a few minutes later to make sure they didn’t charge me for the sweet and sour sauce that comes with the shrimp toast. She told me they did not and they would even throw in dumpling sauce just in case. Something told me to ask again about the hot sauce and I was told, «Oh yeah, we don’t have packets. We have cups.» I was irritated because this small factor would have lead me to order from somewhere else. It was too late to back out and I had a few packets saved from my last takeout restaurant. I told her it was fine. Second mistake. The food came super fast. Maybe 20 minutes. Fresh and hot. The wings were super crispy, the shrimp toast is perfection, and the egg roll was perfectly golden. I bit into the egg roll to find its contents were mushy. Moved on to the wings to find they tasted wonky. I can’t explain it but maybe heavily seasoned with dried ginger. The rice is not fried. It is slightly tan but absolutely not fried and completely flavorless. The general chicken was inedible and the portion was fairly small. The chicken was rubbery and smells as if it has gone bad. The sauce is something other than general tso’s completely. It wasn’t at all sweet. The coke and shrimp toast were both as they should have been and were the only things I really ate. I made the rice taste great but dousing it in the dumpling sauce I was given. Made it great. So I ate that too. All in all I would have given one star but the woman seemed polite on the phone and everything(aside from the hot sauce) I asked for I received in the specific way I asked for it. Also the shrimp toast was the best I have had in years so I had to add an extra star for at least that. The cost is pretty good for what you get as well.

Absolutely delicious — the Orange chicken and broccoli chicken was flavorful, chicken satay and spare ribs were plentiful and exquisite. And delivery was super fast!
